I think you're thinking of Van Damme as Chance Boudreaux (with Wilford Brimley as his bayou Grandpere) in Hard Target. But no, it isn't that.

However, it is Black Robe, with Lothaire Bluteau as Father Laforgue. Depicted above is the incomparable August Schellenberg as Chomina. You're up, Gup.
