The picture of the statue (from moleculaar's bundle) looks like St. George slaying the dragon
EDIT:
Also, The so far assembled watercolor reminds me of Queen's News of the World album cover that scared me to death when i was a child.

A first attempt at putting all the watercolor images together.
I'm not sure about LouMac's image's position (top middle), but I do think he scanned it up-side-down...

Can I be very obvious and mention that the symbol on the back of the coin is Lovecraft's sigil for the Elder Gods? Depending on how far you're reading into the mythos and who's writing it could mean:"Elder Gods! Run! Go insane!" or provide sanctuary against the Great Old Ones (and thus have a protective connotation)
Also, Providence RI is mentioned a helluva lot in Lovecraft. Can't speak with any authority, but a quick Google search should clear it up.

Notice the Dilbert calendar page is of St. Andrew's day. Hey was one of Jesus' apostle, brother of Peter and was a fisherman by trade.

/me remembers the left and right hand ILB keyboard puzzle... perhaps the story is really a code for something? If the pieces of the pictures can fit together, perhaps the story creates a path, or some cypher?
also, is there a significance to the date for the Dilbert comic? Because the immediate thing that jumped out at me was... well, it's my birth day
There definitely seems to be a very specific storyline. The mountain, the garage, etc. It's a specific vision of a specific event, not just fuzzy dreams. What that means, I have no idea.
EDIT: Oh, Molecularr's letter mentions the garage too.
EDIT2: There's also a strong "Providence" theme going, what with the cards and everyone getting the Providence craigslist posting.

This is just idle very-very-spec, but I was re-reading the "About Me" page. I was thinking that "The City" might be "The City of the Dead" (Bast, and all), or some dream city of sorts. However, might not The City be L.A.?
Quote:
In all the places that I've hung my hat - when you spend ten years in The City trying to make it, you hang your hat in a lot of places - the strays would hunt me down. It's nice to know that someone or something is looking after you. It keeps you sane and gets your butt off the couch to go look for a job. Looking for jobs is your job when you're a struggling actor.
Isn't L.A. the city where struggling actors "try to make it"? Except that she goes on to say that we would have seen her "on Broadway", not on the big screen, which brings NYC to mind, too.
I think all of my stuff is contiguous with other packages (personal letter, lovecraft, art books, sea monster book, coin, etc.) except that I also got a Dilbert comic.
I won't post the postcard, "you are providence," RI craigslist and coin cuz those are all the same as the others.
Here's the text of my letter:
Quote:
Zach,
As I sleep each night, I find
myself across from the old
garage standing in the ruins
of a once grand building.
Panic rises into the air
lifting the wings of the
scavengers flying above.
Watching, much like me, as people
stumble out onto the streets.
Each face is familiar to me,
your face is familiar to me,
yet I've never met any of
you. Without speaking, you
get inline with the
others to march out of the
city and away from the
madness. There are others
that must join you. Find
them. Save them.
Seeing you,
B
OK, this may take a while, but here it comes ...

The text here seems to describe that image with the gorilla that Phaedra received.
Right, an ARG with seamonsters and HP Lovecraft? Seems perfectly tailored to just about the entire ARG community. Lurker South African reporting for duty. This game has officialy gone international.
Although I doubt I'm gonna receive any packages

So, since it's been almost 24 hours since I've METAed or spec'd...
A few oddities crashing around in my head:
Are the packages and the Craigslist ads coordinated?
It would appear so, since packages seem to be going to the same cities that had ads posted.
Why no ads for Varin's and Spacely's cities? Theory: Varin is still "alone" and "trapped" and SpaceBass either can't or doesn't want to listen to Bast (yeah, I'm going with it), while the rest of us (with the possible exception of LouMac) seem to be headed for safety -- might this have something to do with it?
If so, why focus two rabbitholes on the same individuals?
Craigslist is a public medium seemingly more suited for recruiting larger groups of people, and they already had gotten our attention with the packages. It seems redundant to focus so much on a few individuals.
Theory: Despite ostensibly being addressed to us, are the Craigslist ads actually intended for others? Are we, by getting the packages containing dream descriptions and clues, being essentially brought in-game as characters with background information that other people need to find?
Where is the Big Public Rabbithole?
Theory: Are we in a pre-game of sorts?
Is there a chronology to the dreams?
From Varin's letter: "People are walking towards the mountains. They say that is the way towards freedom."
From Rowan's letter: "Find those that you can and walk with them to the mountains."
From SpaceBass's letter: "It's there that I see you walking with the others towards the mountains and the thing that just cannot be described. I try to stop you..."
This seems contradictory. If the way toward the mountains is the way toward safety and freedom, why try to stop SpaceBass? Also "the thing that just cannot be described" sounds very ominous in a Lovecraftian sense. So, at some point does Bast learn that what looked like safety isn't?
If so, should we be trying to figure out a chronology for the bits of dream-story told in the letters and ads?
What are we supposed to be doing?
Letter recipients are variously instructed to "save," "warn," "find" and "tell" the others.
Which others? Other letter recipients? Or others who haven't gotten the warning?
