I should also point out that there may have been other reasons that people are chosen to receive packages, and if you didn't receive a package, you still may turn out to be a very valuable member of the player community.
heh. I would say that receiving packages are not at all an indication of value to the player community. I think the packages are an indication of people who work for ARGN or who can otherwise be counted on to post information.
Whether you got a package or not is not indicative of your value as a player.

I also have green and silver wax on the watercolor. Almost looked like it formed a pattern but not.
Did anyone else get the somewhat blatant reference in BA Saint Feline's name?
BA ST (Short For Saint) = Bast?
Granted there is tons of Bast reference with the cats on the page and such.
In the Mythos Lore, Bast is not only worshiped on Earth but in Lovecraft's Dreamlands. Here on earth she was popular in the City Of Bubastis. Before that she was worshiped in Atlantis.
In the Dreamlands, she is most notably worshiped in the city of Ulthar.
Ulthar is described as a town on the river Saki. A small village of Medieval Cottages and cobblestone streets. It is also forbidden to kill a cat here.
Ref. "The Cats of Ulthar"; "The Dreamquest Of Unknown Kadath" both penned by Lovecraft.
It is also the home to a high priest where upon the higest hill stands the Temple Of The Elder Ones. Also contains a huge magical library. Most notable; The Pnakotic Manuscripts and the Seven Crypitcal Books of Hsan.
Ulthar also refers to an Elder God created by Pelton, oone of the Lovecraft Circle Authors. Then you end up working in the Sussex manuscripts.
The problem with the Mythos is that several things climb over eachother.

Thanks, inio. I'll take a look, after all, my toes are wet, might as well jump on in. Also, I know this may be pointless, but looking at inio's, the first thing I noticed was that there seems to be two different colors of sealing wax on it, green and silver.

Heres the raw 300dpi scan of mine. Hope it proves interesting.

Left a message on B.A.'s phone. I'm supposed to be working on writing my own story, but this thing keeps insinuating itself into my thoughts... As an amateur artist, the paintings are really interesting to me. I almost wish I could get my hands on them to see if any specific techniques were used. Also, am I the only one who sees some letters other than DC written on some of the paintings? It may just be my eyes, but I thought I saw an A on the same panel as the DC.

I've been messing around with the water colors and I think I've fit the ones we have so far together. It's going to be hard to figure out where those octopus ones go until we get another piece. Is there any way that we can get some better shots of the ones that aren't exactly flat? (I'll rescan mine tomorrow and add it)
btw, you can click on each one to get a closer look.

Joined up and took some cookies, and invited them to dinner.

That would be the Cthulhu Live Mail List. 500 hardcore Lovecraftian LARPers strong from around the world and growing.
The Lovecraft roots of this mystery have a lot of the members talking.
you can check it out if you like: cthulhu_liveSPLATyahoogroups.com is the name of the list.

I have crowley. Tarot.com has examples of a lot of different decks for browsing and purchase. No Lovecraft, b ut they do have Cat People and all the regulars.

So I hear there's a LARPer mailing list discussing the game?
Has anyone taken over a plate of cookies or made other neighborly gestures?

Cassadaga Florida
Has anyone really dug into Cassadaga?
The place is Spiritualist Central. Also the translation of Cassadaga is Indian for "Rock Beneath The Water" A Possible comparsion to R'Lyeh?
Still following links and such. Nothing Yet.

The Lovecraft Tarot is mainly Sepia Toned art. While there are cats, there is noting that jumps out to appear like the artwork thus far posted.

That's a really good thought, but if it's the case, in most letters the card must be implied rather than named as directly as in the example you used.
When you read through the other letters do any other matches leap out at you?
Im going to get my little book out and have a good ponder. A few things leap out at me, but I might me stretching xD
But yeah, I agree I think that their implied.
I think it would make it alot easier if I found that specific style of tarot I was thinking of first. I'll have a gander and see!
The cat or lion is often used for the strength card. The backgound picture doesn't look like Rider Waite. It remindes me of another deck that used alot of earth tones and hebrew symbology. There is also a tarot of the cat people thought this doesn't look like that deck either. Anyone seen the lovecraft deck?
Anyway, Varin's night falls and dreams come is a reference to the moon card-#18, The hanged man is #12. Strength is #8
Phaedra's card sounds like temperance-#14 or the Star - #17 - both deal with keeping a foot in terra firma and the other in desire and wishes (fantasy?).
LouMac's could be the tower-#16 or Death-#13 though the fires are more indicitive of the tower.
Luke's directly refers to the moon.
The others don't seem to give much that sounds like different cards so we maybe looking too far. I don't have reference to cards that use birds in the skies with a dark reference. Not sure if this helps but what hit me so far.

ok so things we're waiting for:
- Luke's package scans
- Addlepated's 2 missing half-page scans
- one new package detail from the Cthulu Live community
- 15 craigslist city packages (minute the new one above)
- expecting 4 new I Ching references, and 11 duplicates (if there are 26 packages, and 13 spots, we have 2 duplicates already, leaving 11)
and I've fixed up the picture book page to be a little more readable for sequential pages
I would add madman59's package contents to that as well... [well assuming that he got a package]

bseeingu.com is back up. As I've just dabbled my toes in the water so far, I'm not sure if there are any changes. Just thought you'd like to know.
