Check out yucky's comment on dessum's post about the outage.

The ISP was pretty weird about this at first, said it was some kind of programming error. Uhuh, ok, egg on my face as usual, so I'm poking at it and it's DB_Null all over the place. I call them again and pressed them, they said ah, 'your database has many hundreds of records in it but they are all null values, the logs say that you... it appears that your data has been erased Mr. Muck. We have had an intrusion. We have a backup, we will restore it.' Great. I could practically hear the guy wetting himself. They erased our stories. Why?

Accept my apologies for my earlier comments it looks like this my be in game related after all, time will tell. Oil companies are powerful beasts and have all sorts of ways of pressuring people/companies could they be responsible for the outage?

I'm relearning all kinds of stuff here. Don't know why I thought all of the UK was on the metric system but I did. Thanks for the info.

web design

I'm no expert at web design. In fact I pretty much have no skills in that activity at all. Is there someone on board who has excellent design skills and can create a site which is difficult to trace?

I'm sensing a little fun to be had, but it's gotta be 'secret'

Respond here and we'll talk...

How are gallons measured in England? In Canada, the "gallon" of gas used to be roughly equivalent to 5 quarts in the US while a "gallon" of gas for us is 4 quarts.

I'd ride my motorbike over to the US to buy your cheap gas if I could, but my bike doesn't float and I'm no James Bond. Speaking of which, the whole WWO crisis could be a case for 007 - it'd be a snip for him to solve it, surely?

I'm thinking either the website has gone down twice recently due to bad scripting, or that the site is getting hacked IG.

I'm doubting the bad scripting as it's all sponsored and stuff.

So maybe this is the first puzzle...

Smile I can guarantee you it's the application scripting, I know that error page all too well while coding ASP applications. Lots of PM head scratching is being done right now, can you hear it? Utterances of "Why the HELL is it doing THAT?!"

GO YUCKY GO YUCKY!! YOU CAN DO EET!

Yells "Why the HELL is it doing THAT?" at website...Oh you caught me cruddo.

*has random Adam Sandler movie flashbacks* LMAO...

*headhand* Not another ARG with server problems eeep! I've had I think three with that problem...another had a virus that screwed up everyone's computer.

I can assure you Nitefoll that you care the king of hilarity.

But yeah... if this WAS a puzzle it would be nearly impossible to start "Here's an error code, figure it out" unless the error code had some sort of distingushable difference other then 404, we'd be a bit lost now wouldn't we?

must be a piss off for the creators though. Pour all this man power into a project just to have it malf on you.
