Hello gang, I just started this thing yesterday, and am still trying to absorb it all. Judging by the last yahoogroup message, this thing is not quite over yet, and you've all missed something important somewhere. I wish I could say I know where, but it's all rather confusing. Since any one or more of the videos could theoretically easily be faked by the person being "killed" (afterall, they're fake IRL, at least I hope so!), one can argue that the killer could be anyone of the supposedly dead people, too. But I'm not really seeing a motive or purpose to the whole thing right now.

A few questions:
1) At face value, it would seem that the killer ought to be either James, Samuel, or Michael, they stand out among the film club members. All have been suggested here, but James is presumably not the one. Have the PMs officially rejected Samuel or Michael at this point?

2) Can someone explain to me how to find Jessica's murder video? I don't see anything at her myspace site, no links anywhere, and no videos attached. I'm wondering if it's been recently deleted or something?

3) How are folks getting an invite into the TenDead yahoo group? It shows only 8 members. By sending mail to the address at the end of the prof murder? Will any mail do, or would I have to pass some sort of test of merit? I take it we think the PMs are moderating it?

One thing I find strange/suspicious is that Michael supposedly joined the Le Prince club on June 16th, much later than anyone else. The "chef" video was first reported here on the 15th, and it was added to YouTube on the 11th. So it seems clear that something is amiss here. I thought initially that maybe a player joined the club and used Michael's picture as his own. But since Michael wasn't already on the list, and the PMs presumably renumbered the names at some point and included him as #1, then I have to presume the member is in-game. In which case the guy in the chef video isn't Michael... Maybe it's James? The video points directly to Michael's blog, which is why we think it's him. But I think in every other case the blogs/webspaces point TO the video, not the other way around. You can argue that this is simply an exception due to it being the rabbithole, of course. Or it could all be a production mistake, that Michael was initially accidentally omitted from meetup for some reason.

I think we have to assume that people whose faces we've seen being killed really are being killed, otherwise to whole thing kind of falls apart. So the prof is presumably dead. That leaves Michael and James, one of whom is presumably the body in the kitchen.

If Michael was the killer, it would make sense that he made it look like he's dead by adding himself to the film group (at a later date) and renumbering himself as one of the victims, while leaving James apparently alive and arranging things to make him look like the bad guy.

Since two people are seen in the Prof killing, if that's not a production mistake (and I think it is), another theory would be Michael and James are working together, at least at that time.

Another possibility is that the killer is one of the other 10 or so people that most of these guys have as friends on their myspace (i.e. Terry, Rob, etc.) although I haven't spend much time looking them over and I assume most of you haven't either since we focused on the club members.

Okay, I am a former lurker that has decided to emerge after following this thread and witnessing Ten Dead. I am very new to ARGs.

I agree that this has been a very fun little ARG and I wish I had chosen this thread to read first as opposed to BristelGoodman.

I have not figured out who the murder is yet (plan on going back through all of my bookmarks and seeing if I missed anything), but I love the idea of it being Higgins. That is very And Then There Were None.

The thing that puzzles me most at the moment is that the "killer" from the Higgins video looks like the guy in the pictures on James Pinkwater's myspace. But James Pinkwater on the Society Members page is different. That will probably end up being nothing but it was in my head.

I too just emailed them, asking, among other things, if he was Michael. If they post a reply on the yahoo group page will someone please post it on here, because they posted the response to my last email on there and I'm not even in the group.

There's a pic of Michael at the bottom of his blog, but you're right... we never saw Michael die, like we did the others. To tell you the truth, I thought it was Josh when we first found Josh's video... at that point we had only found Samantha's and i just thought oh, this is how that body that was getting boiled actually died.

I also replied to the latest yahoo group mail that we got. I said in it that I think he is Sam Higgins... no reply, private or though the group.

There's no evidence to back this up, but it could be Michael killing them. We never saw him die, and the body that we presumed to be his we never saw the face on it in the video.

By the way that email that cissmiance posted was from me, I don't know why he replied on the yahoo page and didn't email me back though.

I could barely hear them too. But I know she talks about who she believes to have gotten Prof. Higgins fired. Which is most likely the killer. Becasue sam probably told all her friends who she thought it was, so they then killed them all. I guess he was trying to frame James Pinkwater.

EDIT: Because if you think about it, the killer couldn't be someone in their group of friends, because if it was then Luke and Laura who were both under the impression they were being taped by a potential investor or a talent scout, would know that their friend was not either of those things.
