The drill video show the guy's face pretty clearly. My number 1 suspect is:

No reply though. But we'll give it another day or so. They are slow to reply i guess.

Hi, guys, sorry I was on Holiday, but I'm back now.

I got a message while I was away, but its the same as someone else got.

I emailed the killer a few times, Iv'e asked him if he was Micheal but got no reply. Which was odd because he replied to my 'you are james' big email with my theory on the whole thing.

Anyone heard anything else?

Thanks for checking that for me, I spent a lot of time trying to find that last video yesterday, baffled that nobody else had any trouble. I still see 4 pictures there, though. Were there more?

Wow, you're right! They were up as recently as last night, I saw them. I guess this game is now starting to fall apart with important pieces going missing like that. Some of these videos are really graphic and I'm guessing users are complaining and getting them pulled.

I also looked over most of the remaining friends since posting, and they're all really generic typical vacuous myspace profiles with a few pics. I find them really hard to look at & read, but that's myspace for ya. I didn't see anything hidden or distinguishing about any of them. The weird thing is that there are up to 3-4 different Jimmys & James on there. And the one picture of James at meetup which is different from all of them! I guess they wanted several suspects even once we got the "Jimmy" name from a couple of videos.

Another piece I never understood was how the "replacements" pages fit in. There is that "2004 committee" with 6 guys on it, are these RL people? Maybe the puppetmasters?

well, as others have said.. the pm has definitely said he was not James. I have made a supposition on both this forum and the yahoogroup with the PM names as Samuel. No response has been forthwith.

(and that being a source of frustration, that if we are to the point of concluding this exercise, why isnt there more communication from 'him')

I was invited after I emailed the email address found inside the Samuel Higgins video. My email went something like:
"Hi Killer!! Seen any good television shows lately?" and I got back "Well done, but who am i?" (not exact quotes)

which definitely leads to the question you asked.. is the yahoogroup moderator the pm. is the yahoogroup moderator the killer or the one who is exposing the killer. So far, the pm and/or the yahoogroup moderator (Seyton7) [any clues from the name???] has not revealed the answer to that (imho).

this was my theory also, when i wrote the yahoogroup, it was posted but there was no response. also note... Samuel Higgins is the only one that RSVPd for the meeting that was held on the 25th.

Of all the other "friends" not listed in the meetup group,: Jimmy, Riff, Terry, Rob, Joanna, Aliza, kelly, Sally and Jenny: the last one to log in to myspace was Terry on 6/15.. not sure if that means anything or not.. but i thought it was interesting.. given his penchant for the tv show 24.

In fact the gatherings themselves were quite publicly accessible on the web and were open to almost anyone with a similar vested interest. The term 'vested interest' is especially of note for if the group as a whole determined that one or more of its members did not have an adequate knowledge base for their weekly discussion, they would politely exclude them from further participation. Whilst this sort of banishment may seem a bit harsh if not outright snobbish, you must understand that Professor Higgens' passion for the subject of film made him a superlative instructor, but consequently also greatly diminished his toleration for ignorance. Now, had it not been for the apparent semi-exclusion of one James Pinkwater, a former student of Prof. Higgins, he would very likely still be alive, as would the rest of the group. James was more than a vibrant contributor to many of the clubs heady discussions each week. It was however, when James proposed the group spend a week discussing and watching some television shows as a change of pace, that everything changed. Arguments ensued, and James, being banished from the group, began to plot his revenge. I was also a member, and this is my story.

Reading those last couple of paragraphs over, it seems to me to be saying that James Pinkwater *is* the killer, but he is not 862700, the person who is presumably posting the various videos, answering the mail @ 862700.mail.com and who is moderating the yahoo group. I think that's our main source of confusion - we've all been assuming the killer is the person communicating with us. When 862700 says "I am not James Pinkwater" it doesn't mean we're wrong about who did the killing!

So the thing that remains to be done is identifying this other person, and explaining why James was so eager to get his face into the video of the Professor's murder. Also, what has happened to James? Did 862700 kill him in turn (if that's James' body in the chef video, perhaps it's 862700 cooking him, as a form of justice?).

Seems to me that 862700 must be either Michael or Higgins if we assume he is registered in the Meetup group. Michael is the simpler solution. We've never seen him get killed. He joined the meetup group after most of the murders had been committed.

My Theory: Michael somehow found out about the murders, avoided getting killed himself, caught James, captured James' collection of snuff videos, posted them on the net, and avenged his friends by killing James in the same fashion. And that's James in his Chef video. I'm sure there's still some holes in this, but I think it mostly explains what the PMs have been trying to tell us through those last few weird clues.

I think the various #s we've been given, including 862700 itself, may be pieces of URLs hiding a missing piece of the story in a blog or video somewhere...

I don't see why the second person in Higgin's video is being thrown out as a flaw. When there is a close up of the drill at the very end... ("NOOOOOOO!!!! *silence*) we also see the left hand of the person who jumps out of the shadows. If you look closely, at 0:58, you can see long brown hair out of the face of the hooded figure. (I can't screenshot, but maybe someone else could)

Since this person was with Pinkwater, I checked out his myspace and found in 3 of his photos, there is a girl with long brown hair not identified any other way, and in one of these she's wearing a hoodie (not that hoodies make killers, but if you wear a hoody, you're a suspect.)

Again, this could be Higgin's doing his own Noir project, and maybe he isn't dead, since he doesn't have a number for a name on the meetup site. I agree it could be Michael who we see in the first video, but I think this second person has a role to play that we aren't granting him/her.
