So, it's an Australian horror film made during or after 1996 (when those bills with John Monash on them were issued)?
I've got no idea. I've never seen an Australian horror film (well, it depends if you count Dead Calm or not), nor can I seem to use the limited amount I now know about this one to figure out what it is.
Is there an Australian in the house?

Stand by me?
(probably wrong but it is an other guess)

Still no, I'm afraid, and I don't think there is a book of this particular film.
Maybe this will help:

Strange thing is... I know these scenes but I never seen them... I must have read the book. The bullets in the laundry should jog my memory...but they don't.
BLOOD GUTS BULLETS AND OCTANE (1999)?

@ Axys Denyed - no, sorry
@ konamouse - I've never seen the US version of The Office (presumably that's the one you're watching) so I can't say whether he's in it or not. My instinct would be that it's unlikely but I could be entirely wrong.
Maybe it's time for another one. Remember kids, always empty your pockets before putting your clothes through the wash.

Is that guy in The Office now?
(I'm watching Thursday episode on line and he is on screen at the same time as I opened this window at the same time).

Nope, so far.
Here's a second still:

It has some classic 'mummy'-feel to it.
Could it even be
The mummy (the Hammerhouse remake) ?

Yay - first one I've ever got! Luckily, I watched it last weekend too.
Anyhow, this is my first attempt at uploading images so hopefully this'll show up alright. In keeping with the horror theme:
