Now I think I understand that it's a small "hello" to the guy that we're all so beholden to. The packages are sending cranes to Dave as well, as a good wish.
Of course, the PMs aren't able to be so blatant in their message and still maintain a curtain, but the crane is at once a hint that it's a game (but NOT A GAME, DANGIT) and a token of affection.
Just my guess.
I like that idea dmax.

The cranes, from my first impression, seemed to be a very inappropriate reference or joke or even a disturbing suggestion that Dave was somehow involved in this. None of that made sense to me and it's troubled me ever since.

Since I didn't see any posts about it, I called the number listed for Holomove on Spacely's card- it went to a voicemail for Holomove. Surprisingly, the mailbox wasn't full. I didn't know what to leave... so I just left.

So it was. Someone called Greg also replied to the crossword post, he added clippers and teddy as correct answers. Are we supposed to look for a team mascot now?

OK, this will be a silly question, but I haven't seen it asked or answered yet. For those that received a package, did you unfold the crane? If so, anything inside; if not, why the hell not?
Mr.Toasty I posted on the first page that i unfolded my crane and found nothing.

How cool is it that Ex has a black light? I am wondering why.

Does it strike anyone else as odd that one of the available jobs is Executive Chef? How smart to you have to be to cook food for the executives? Significant or typo?
I applied for that job, it was the only job description I understood

That struck me the same way - does the chef need to be a member of Mensa like the rest?
Hmm... maybe I should have mentioned that my IQ qualifies me for Mensa in my job application email. Maybe I should have also mentioned how chaos theory inspires most of my recipes. Might have helped my chances.

so who goes around searching for mentions of themselves?
What you guys don't Google your name on a regular basis?

There are several profiles in LinkedIn:
1) "Senior Recruiter" has a private name; all that is visible is that they went to New York University.
2) "Project Manager" is also private, but has the following historical info:
Past:
- Senior Associate Consultant at Mitchell Madison Group
- Associate Consultant at Mitchell Madison Group
Education: University of Wisconsin
3) Listing, also name private, for "Developer, Nice Guy":
Current: Developer at Holomove
Past
- Research Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
- Summer Research Scholar at National Science Foundation
- HelpDesk Representative at James Madison University - Computing HelpDesk
Education:
- James Madison University
- Keio Gijuku Daigaku
All of these people have contacts, but I can't see that info.
*EDIT*
Thanks to a BUG in LinkedIn, we have their names! It shows up when you try to mail them...
Senior Recruiter: Annie Goldstein
Project Manager: Eliza Marks
Developer, Nice Guy: Nathan Bozeman

Guh... huh? That's surprising!
Well, for what it's worth, I added her to my LinkedIn network. Maybe they'll hire me.
This place is going through an extraordinary effort to seem real. It's actually quite convincing.
And we have NO idea what this is for?!?

Actually, Executive Chef is the head Chef. At this point in the career, they establish the menu, the recipes and oversee everyone else doing all the grunt work in the kitchen.
OK, this will be a silly question, but I haven't seen it asked or answered yet. For those that received a package, did you unfold the crane? If so, anything inside; if not, why the hell not?
I mentioned this is chat earlier, sorry I didn't post about it, but I unfolded the crane, nothing there. I also looked at it under a blacklight and again, nothing.

I'm not sure if SoCalDevGal is in on this ARG, or they asked her to post about Nate's blog to get more attention drawn to it. But does seem weird that she somehow randomly "found" his blog a month ago. And then he posted a comment in the article she wrote about him, so who goes around searching for mentions of themselves? So I'm pretty sure it was all set up to make him seem real.
edit: I guess it makes more sense if they met in Las Vegas. All of this is very elaborate and planned out to make it look authentic. So whoever made all this, good work! Very impressive.
