The first looks to be a representation of the periodic table.

ETA - it's close, but not exactly the same. Hydrogen shifted over next to helium, some missing (110-118). Can we use this with Nobel prize?

I wonder what Booher Hoffman and Messier could possibly have in common?

The user name is "RandomKnowledge". So I guess this is where the puzzle should lead us.
Good work Smile

I wouldn't read too much into the cranes, on ARGNet, they had a tip they were a tribut to Dave Szulborski, their resident puzzel solver who is seriously ill, there is supposed to be an effort to fold 1000 cranes, see
http://www.argn.com/archive/000726an_emergenc_at_holomove.php

My first thought was it was related to the scan.png image on his blog and the numbers are co-ordinates, ie 1 down 4 across or something.

I'm still playing with orientation.

I wonder what it'd look like if you were to try folding a paper crane from the image.

Edit: Toasty beat me to it.

Already tried both crane and "fortune teller/cootie catcher" - nothing.

However - given it's design, I think it needs to be folded in *some* fashion.

The image is square after all, so it would make sense given that and the cranes sent in the trailhead.

The new puzzle looks like it needs to be folded.

It has to be a nobel medal for either "Physics and Chemistry", "Physiology or Medicine", or "Literature",

Because the other two types have a different design on their face.

See link below and quote from it.

http://www.ceptualinstitute.com/galleria/awards/nobel/nobelmedals.html

Quote:
The medals in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine and Literature are identical on the face; it shows the image of Alfred Nobel and the years of his birth and death (1833-1896). The Peace medal and
the medal for the Alfred Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences have a slightly different design.
The areverse varies according to the institution awarding the prize

edit * the test on the bottom left says E-LINDBERG 1902. He was the designer of the three medals it could be. My guess would be it is going to be for physics

JustLurking in chat realized that the Roman Numerals on the prize coin are the same as the IP address for YouTube: 208.65.153.251
