Update
No changes that I can see, Jacks and I have sent our screentests and are waiting on anything to happen. Anyone else have anything to report?

Ok, so it wasn't without a puzzle but I connected and my screentest is transfered.

It wasn't User as the username, but the full name and dot turned to . so here's the info...

Hostname or IP or Address: ftp.bullerman.net
User: userSPLATbullerman.net
password: funtimeplease

I did this with the FireFTP addon for Firefox using the quick connect option but it can prolly be done with any FTP client. Also Fun.txt is there.

Maybe we need to try the normal port 21 with the user name "user" and the password "funtimeplease". I don't have my vid or an ftp client on my work pc. I looked up Core ftp and it is a free ftp client.

Has anyone tried to destegg the image from /play.htm? Maybe we just need to screw around with that image a bit? That's about all I can come up with right now, but it seems like he's pointing us in that general direction.

I would try destegging, but I am at work and don't have camo or anything like that installed.

Edit: /play.htm has changed. Now says "My name is Anne. Would you like to play? If you have a question, look deep inside of me for the answer." I also can't get the image to load.

I hope this doesn't spoil how creepy play.htm is, but I went to it's source and saw the image 150133217_696d5d1de5.jpg and seeings as that must be HER I decided to ASK(.com) Her. (searched "150133217_696d5d1de5.jpg" at ask.) and the first hit was an XML file for a blogger site. also, this is a guy... so... back to square one, we gotta figure this out.
(PM, if this was unintentional and we weren't supposed to find out this is not a woman, I'm waving my white flag. I've looked at every ounce of source available to us.)

Just a reminder to all still thinking on this, /user was only accessed once and is now locked, but the absolute only things I found there were posted there was nothing else. So the UserSPLATbullerman.net (which if you email returns a daemon saying it doesn't exist.) is basically a dead end. I am officially stumped.

Good and horrible, I'm glad I'm not the only one stumped. However, this isn't good, no one has any ideas at all, we'll wait to see if hints surface.

Oh man, I have no idea. I don't think we've encountered any girls in this game yet. There has to be something we're missing. He's not telling us because it's out there for us to find, but we can't find it! Arg!

Well, I got my little vid done... Confused

I tried uploading it last night with no success. I was trying to use port 80, which is password protected. For the user/password I used jeff/transcendental and it let me connect. I couldn't get my vid to upload though. I'm not sure what the problem was with that or whether it was a problem with my ftp client (Smart ftp) or their ftp server.

Has anyone checked to see if theres an FTP server or file transfer service running on the web site? The page says he is going to set up a way to transfer files. I've run the website through nmap (a Linux program that checks a server for open ports), found that ports 21 (FTP), 22 (SSH), 25 (SMTP, for sending e-mail), 26 (very strange to see this one, it identifies itself as an e-mail server, then switches the prompt to look like an FTP server), port 110 (POP3, for receiving e-mail) and 143 (IMAP4, for receiving e-mail). are open and accepting incoming requests. The FTP server is locked down though.


anyone know how this works? PM if you're reading this (and after another back story catch up, I know you are.) Checking your ports could be invasive, and I certainly don't want to be invasive. Just know we won't go that far again.

On a seperate note, he brought up number's.... 3,4. maybe port 34 for the ftp, I'll try it.

EDIT: Won't connect, I have cyberduck and it won't connect to those, i may need a user/pass. I'll give this time, I imagine there will be clues.

Not sure yet what it's good for though. It seems to be just a whooshy sound played forward then backwards. Was it meant to play when the page loaded? The player shows up as 1 pixel after the word screentest on the page.
