I know it's gotten pretty tight in here, and I also know that I'll be little help with the hardcore puzzles, but I just read all 34 pages of this and would like very much to get involved.

Bricker tried to contact me while I was out. I have a bad feeling about the out come of this. He is sent me more of the novel which I'll upload it in a little bit , most likely tonight when I get home.
Quote:
bdbricker: Are you there?
bdbricker: I heard from Rage. He says he's coming over to discuss my "situation" (?) I'm going to send some Word docs out before he gets here. It's more of my book. Not all that I've written -- but all that I can find right now.
bdbricker: He also mentioned delivering something and mentioned a "Hazel Teen" or something similar. I'll clarify that if I can.
bdbricker: Be careful.

*** I've Got Mail!***
OK this is going to be long rambling post so bear with me.
I sent Bricker an email this evening. In the the chat room he asked for a copy of DeMolay/Rage's monologue which in reality was just a copy of a chat between Classical and DeMolay/Rage using TT's account. (You can find it here.)
Quote:
Mr. Bricker,
Thank you once again for coming to our IRC chat this afternoon. When we spoke earlier I had mentioned to you that Rage (DeMolay) had monologued. I use the term "monologue" as kind of an homage to the movie "The Incredibles" , the hero's of the movie mention, the bad guys always tell the hero the "Plan" and "How great they are" just before they try to dispacth the good guys. As we all know when the bad guy is monologuing thats usually when the good guy escapes and defets the bad guy. Of course I dont have to tell you since you mention that you have children I am sure you have seen that movie.
I implore you once agin to reconcider sending us a copy of the recent revision of your novel. Noone out side of a select trusted colleuges will see it. There might be some clues in there that might help us stop Rage. It is obvious that we need to stop him before any more inocent people our hurt.
I am going to copy and paste the "monologue" in the body of this e-mail so please excuse the length. What this actualy is, is a conversation between "Classical" whom you have aready spoken with and Demolay (Rage). He is using someones else's ("Tvonfantine") email/messenger. "Tvonfantine" was/is a young (16 year old) girl that he had "working" for him She insisted that we call he "TT" This is the girl I assume(d) was his sister. Unfortunatly we have not heard from her in a while and a few of Rage's communications thru Twitter seem to lean towards the worst. We asume he has murdered her.
This is were I pasted the conversation that I linked above, but I cut it out to save space here.
His reply came in a few minutes ago...
Quote:
Mr. Schwinn,
I know exactly the part of the book that Rage was talking about. But I've definitely never shown that to anyone and it wouldn't have been on that jumprdrive.
I guess I now know that you guys are for real -- for better or for worse.
Here's a couple of chapters that may or may not make sense to you. I am doubtful that they will help you much. Unfortunately organization is not my strong suit so it'll take me a little time to assemble the other chapters.
I pray that these somehow make a difference. I trust that you are honest when you say that you are going to guard these pages.

I'll attach a copy of the revision, That WE ALL PROMISE TO KEEP SAFE!!!
See below.
Regarding Ports Blog:
Those of you that actually subscribed to his blog or had an account with blogger. If you go to your dashboard, there is a section that lists all the blogs you are following I have it all the way back till when it was replaced with the Tarot cards. Also on that page if you use the "view in google reader" link it brings up al of the cards. The problem is that it looks like some of the images have been turned upside down. I cant remember if some of them were turned before but they show up that way in my reader. As a mater of fact it looks like the card might have changed.
Ill post what I can later it might take me a while to reconstruct this in a file for attachment.
more to come later

Keep this safe. Those outside the fold shouldn't have this.
You having a wreck is so awful! You are okay right?
[meta] can't help thinking that is so very wrong to have happened just as we're finding out that a battle between good and evil is taking place - then Wulf gets smacked around. I know it's unrelated, but I can;'t help thinking TINAG needs to remain a game. [/meta]
xomunkixo is correct, at least from what KM said - the square tells us when, and the Tarot filled in numbers for the square. UNLESS he meant that when we saw the SUN Tarot card, that would be the date, but since there are no more Tarot cards (yet), he had to have understood my reference to the SUN as = SOL and his clue meant the square has the key to when.
{Edit 1} A magic square is composed of a series of numbers, that when added up row by row/column by column every set of numbers equals the same total number. In the case of the SOL square that one of our awesome co-players found (sorry was it Wulf or Classical or Schwinn?) the magic number is 111.
[off topic] While there have been grimoires that showed certain squares used for a specific purpose, usually that is only because that was the use attributed to it by THAT witch. (As in all magick, it's the intent behind the action, not the action that makes it work.) Basically, we could use this square to heal Wulf after his accident, yet "Jack" could use this same square to kill TT or Portnoy. [/off topic]
[edit 2]Since I don't have all of the cards numbers to work with, but taking an educated guess based on the square itself, the date is either 1/11 or 11/1. I may be totally off base, but that's the best I can do without the rest of the cards. For some reason though, my gut is saying June and that may be because of the 6 being the first number used in the square and the Tarot postings. BAH!!!!
Okay - I have officially decided it is not that the ARG stands for alternate reality game, it is just another way to spell ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man. I move, lose my internet, and it finally starts getting good. It's impossible to keep up on my blackberry. I don't know if this was mentioned yet, but someone said the tarot cards pointed to the when. Weren't they posted at the rate of One number a day? If that's true then we should know exactly when the magic square will be complete. Is that the when?
Also, that sucks about your car. are you okay?

Some questions for Bricker.
I just wanted to put some questions up for Bricker if and when he shows up again. This way when he contacts one of us [I'm looking at you class] we will have some questions already for him.
Feel free to PM me some question and we can add them here.
Quote:
Questions for BD Bricker:
You mentioned that "it" was starting again. What is "it"?
Why should we not read you manuscript? What will happen if we do?
The characters and places in your novel, were they based on real people and places?
Brightman?
How much more of the novel is completed?
Can we read some more?
Do you like Starbucks? (just kidding)
Who is Demolay/Arlen? what are his connections too you and the manuscript?
What did Arlen do we he showed up last time?
Who is/was Muray Kelvin?
Can you give us more info on the Oracle?

Hello Mr Bricker--
As promised, here is a copy of the blog posts before they were deleted. The person behind this site claimed to be Portnoy King as he described in these posts.
Also attached is something else that may be of interest to you, or not--a simple google of your novel's title brought me to this blog, written by a T W Hatch: http://thebrightmanoracle.blogspot.com/
which were also erased in the same manner of Port's. I'll let you read the posts and decide for yourself as to what exactly they mean to you.
And there is also the copy of the manuscript that was found. Kinda to back myself up, here. I know I might be talking at a wall at this point, but I assure you that my friends and I have absolutely no malicious intent--we are only curious treasure hunters solving puzzles for prizes. (Just very confused ones now.) And we thought that your identity was a puzzle for us to solve... I would be happy to show you the puzzle, in fact, that led us to your jumpdrive, if that would help you any. Your manuscript has not been shared outside of the small circle of us treasure hunters, and I swear that we will never spread it anywhere else.
I am, however, concerned about the person claiming to be The Patriot who led us to you in the first place. I don't think he or she will be as gentle in their intents with your material...

And he replied:

Courtney (can I call you that?),
I have to apologize for earlier. I was so mad (and kind of embarrassed) that you had read part of my novel and I wasn't really sure how to respond. Not to mention how much it bothers me that my jumpdrive disappeared from my house and appeared in a toilet that was apparently part of your treasure hunt!
While driving home from work I really started realizing that I was kind of rude to you -- if you are truly who you say you are.
Listen, there's something really wrong with that story. My book. And unfortunately I'm not as surprised as I probably should be to see the blogs that you sent me. I thought that deleting it all and moving half way across the country might have stopped it. I obviously should never have started writing it again but it just won't leave me alone. Does that happen with your art? Do you get an idea that follows you...year after year...until you finally just have to create it? Maybe it's just me.
Please tell your friend to just destroy that jumpdrive. I think those temp files wanted to be found.
Sound crazy? Believe me, I know. Consider yourself lucky that Arlen didn't show up this time.
I can assure you that there's really no treasure to be had here. Just isolation and fear. And paranoia...obviously.
--Brian
Hmm. Now he's backtracking all over the place. But, note the 'Arlen'. Arlen P Rage again? 'DeMolay is Rage?' I'm totally asking him about JDM.
edit;; dang, I was in the middle of responding to him when he starts IMing me back!
Quote:
bdbricker:
Did you get my apology?
clas1ca:
hey--yeah, I did. I was just responding to it, actually!
Really, though, don't worry about it. I know I would feel quite the same if that happened to me.
bdbricker:
I was just checking my e-mail and saw you online.
clas1ca:
joys of the internet, huh? this is quite a strange happening.
bdbricker:
Yes I suppose it is.
Just to let you know I've only got a minute.
My wife rented 'Lost' and we are going to watch a couple of episodes tonight.
I just wanted to make sure you knew that I didn't mean to be rude earlier.
clas1ca:
hey, no problem, man.
bdbricker:
Do you paint or is that computer art that you do?
clas1ca:
a little of both, really!
bdbricker:
It's amazing. Really.
clas1ca:
aw, thanks--and if you don't mind me saying, your writing is also very strong.
and I understand what you said about the ideas following you around... it eats at you, doesn't it?
bdbricker:
Thanks. I've made most of my career out of textbooks.
Yes...they can.
clas1ca:
I've found that, sometimes, one of the better things to do is to share those gnawing ideas with someone, just to get it off your chest.
if you need an ear, I'll be listening.
bdbricker:
Thanks. I appreciate that. But it would be better to forget me and my book.
clas1ca:
Why so? to be honest, I'm a little concerned if that jumpdrive was stolen from you...
I know that you mentioned you were in the Santa Rosa area--a friend of our treasure hunting group went missing two weeks ago. He was last seen in Santa Rosa.
would you mind me asking if you've seen any local news regarding a man named Muray Kelvin?
bdbricker:
I hate to ask you, but are you mocking me?
clas1ca:
really, I assure you, I'm not.
a man named Kelvin came to us, in a sense, because he was being threatened by another named Jack DeMolay.
bdbricker:
DeMolay?
Why do you think that Kelvin is missing from Santa Rosa?
clas1ca:
we haven't heard from him since. in fact, our group is fairly certain that DeMolay has something to do with his disappearance.
bdbricker:
Listen, forget my book! PLEASE have your friend destroy that jump drive. Make sure that my book is not posted where anyone can read it and don't read it yourself. I'm sorry. I really am. DeMolay is Rage. Where's King?
In your trasure hunt thing?
Where is King?
clas1ca:
he was arrested in Oklahoma City. transferred to Washington, DC.
just before he was arrested, he sent one of our members a book. 'As a Man Thinketh'.
bdbricker:
Oh shit. That means it's starting.
I don't know what to do.
I'm sorry.

Stranger than Fiction, you're thinking of. Which this game definitely is turning out to be.
But yeah, let's get some questions together so in case Bricker feels chatty after this, I can throw things at him. |D Though, for now, I'm going to be taking the 'polite, sorry, and confused' role until I can get him to slip up somehow. I tried to explain to him that we were mere 'treasure hunters' and thought that this novel was apart of a 'puzzle'... :B
I, for one, am curious how the Brightman Oracle plays into this. Which is why I included the other blog in the email I sent out. Hopefully I will get to ask him more questions about that side of the story the next time.

This only raises even more questions on top of the ones we have yet to answer. Who thieved the jumpdrive out of his house in Santa Rosa? (JDM??!) Port's not real? He's only a character? WHO THE HELL IS HE THEN?
Agh. Brain hurts. Going for a lie down.
Wow nice job. Definitely a lot of things to consider here. I don't recall the name of the movie that came out in the past year, with Will Ferrell, but essentially he was playing a character that someone created in a book?
So now we can add that particular scenario on top of all of the rest of them, Freemasons, CIA, Good vs Evil, Tarot, Greek Mythology, Murder mystery, - did I miss anything? All we need now is for someone to reference Pink Floyd (notice that all of the movie/song quotes disappeared?) and somehow include superhero culture (Superman, Batman, Shazaam) - and I think we'll have covered just about every type of story genre out there. Unless the PM's wanna throw something about the Smurf's in for kicks? LOL
I think this, TINAG, is going to be an influence in me developing a drinking problem..
=edit=
We should probably put together a list of topics/questions for Classical to put to Bricker, just to make sure we have our bases covered. For example:
1) If King is "his" character - why does both the Oracle AND JDM consider him to be of such import (unless they're a part of his story as well....*rubs chin*) - AND how the hell did he send me a package via US Post? Cuz if someone says I'm getting mail from some 3rd dimension, I'm gonna start a bonfire..
