The invisible man and Lenny/Rage/Demolay are not the same people. We know from Bricker's description that he's not the invisible man. He showed up at Port's apartment and killed those 2 G-men. However, I'm wondering if this invisible man, isn't The One? From what we've read so far, The One doesn't have a body, he needs to inhabit one, and Rage has more or less been identified as a suitable host. Again I'm not sure that the invisible man and The One - are *ahem* one and the same, but I'm pretty sure that the invisible man and Lenny are NOT the same person.

One other thing - they mentioned that they left the invisible man to come help us? Cryptic puzzles, hidden information, and a ton of meta. interesting idea of help, lol

The invisible man came to us on April 1st, said "Find something on the internet for those who like real games. It's time we cast a wider net."

We found many options, we read many thoughts, we settled on unForums.

The invisible man told us to watch, to wait.

Well, for a start, can we get a flowchart, and maybe some industrial strength analgesic?

Well, here's another thing nobody's mentioned yet. The post titled "A Watcher Appears"

As March closed we were contacted by a woman called Valerie.

Oh, I suspect that's our "Val Seer". Get it - watcher, seer?

What about Eric? Are you familiar with him at all?

We are familiar, not enough to shed light on his activities.

Was Eric playing the Game, too?

A company coordinates parts of The Game and that company employs numerous Erics. But that all happened after we left the invisible man to try and help you.

Ughghgh fuck, brain hurts. If Eric and his 'company' are related to the same Game that TT and the Hazels are playing, I am pretty certain that Eric is, ahem, 'in game'. Remember that Eric referred to Lenny once. So Eric was playing The Game. And Eric was playing a made-up version of Bricker. And the Bricker we know is not the same thing as the real Bricker out there.

And that when that ticket hits the condo at 4456 Culebra Ave in a few days, things are going to get Interesting.

That's... interesting. Where Kelvin plays into this, I don't know. But the Hazels seem to be very talkative at the moment, so guys--get some questions in before they get killed or something! I took the opportunity to ask about their note about the ticket on the image post:

You say the original ticket was stolen--by whom?

The Hazels said...
First by Patriot, then by Lenny.

... /headscratch

So if Lenny is Rage, then who is the invisible man? The invisible man can't also be Rage--because, I mean, why steal from himself?
I do, however, have a feeling he's the One we've been looking for all along...

WRT names, Portnoy is an extremely unusual first name - beyond rare - it's an uncommon last name - first name, never

see for yourself: http://www.census.gov/genealogy/www/namesearch.html

more names - Gerald MacNear, Buster Wally, Floyd Pusich and even Dame Merry Hanson - from the 1st page of TGATT - described as "some of the most notoriously insane individuals in America between the years of 1935 and 1942" - since the PMs went to the trouble to establish Brightman Institute as RL (see wikipedia article on WPA) i thought they might do the same with the four "notoriously insane individuals" - but i haven't found anything on them - clue or not? - i don't know

He had us searching the internet all the time. Portnoy King. Bricker. Bella Hanson. Brightman Institute. Arlen Rage. He was so excited when we found the Port King blog, kept saying "It's happening."

He was very interested in the Brian Bricker website.

Checked sources again. Bricker's about.html page is back to normal (whenwhenwhen comment removed), and 090909.html has also had the comment (youcandoit) removed. No other changes that I can see

Recruits...
There was a rapid response to the flyers, just as the invisible man said there would be.

After two days eight people showed up to learn the rules of The Game. Six left that meeting with tasks to get their first Salamander card. One boy quit.

And Tina never left.

She could see Lenny, too. Which apparently made her special.

Rogan won the first S-card by disappearing for a full day and then crashing back onto our doorstep at midnight with a scraped up laptop and an old cigar box full of photos and envelopes.

As Rogan drove off with the first S-card, the invisible man just grinned.

We looked at each other and shrugged. We didn't know then what we know now.

Rogan broke in at Brickers house?
It looks as Rage wasn't real yet, at this point. Like he was still coming into existence.

I'm very excited about the "finding the writer" stuff.
What if real!Brian calls up Classical in the next few days, and he doesn't have a clue. That would be weird to explain... And to hear. Rolling Eyes

Okie dokie. After much debate in the chat, we've decided to find the writer.

I've just dropped the ticket into the mailbox again--but it's going to 4456 Culebra Ave this time. Threw in my phone number with it, because if this is going where I suspect it's going, I want to friggin' HEAR it. Or maybe he'll be kind enough to write me a letter back.

As you may or may not know, I've been trying to figure out who lives at 4456 Culebra Ave ever since I got the letter back. No regular web searches, property searches, realtor searches, anything have led to consistent results, or anything that has to do with our Bricker. Different people get listed as owning the property all over the place, probably because it's a condo.

But, check the file attached. This is a cheapo yet legit background check I did on our Brian D Bricker yesterday as to his current location, which is all nice and stalkerish of me, I know, but it gave me all the confirmation I needed to know.

I think there is a divide that the game is attempting to bridge between the Bricker we know and the Bricker that actually exists right now; thus, the recent 'find the writer' hints. I still think my musing from a page back has some weight--that our encounter with Eric exposed the fact that real!Bricker and game!Bricker are not the same thing. Even if Eric was a gamejacking attempt, the PMs have apparently taken it in stride. Basically, this currently reads to me that real!Bricker has no idea that this all is happening around him. (Or, well, he does, as a role behind the curtain would suggest, but would probably feign otherwise. :B)

Right, if this letter goes through, real!Bricker receives the ticket, and then he contacts us, it will change 'the game', as the recent hints have suggested. Real!Bricker will suddenly be involved in 'the game'. But how do we know what exactly is 'the game', y'know?

So: by sending this ticket, I may or may not just have opened up a can of worms. Hopefully, though, it's the one we were looking for.

la la la I may just be totally incoherent because I haven't really slept much lately; if I am, just give me a slap over the head
in other news, totally done with schoolwork for the semester, woop woop, expect a crackdown on wiki edits in the next few days

Time for another session of Wulf's random thoughts.... Shocked

Ok, so the new blog post is interesting, I also checked out the Profile for "The Hazels", but there wasn't much there:
Quote:
The Hazels

About Me

Who we are is of no importance. What we say is.

Please stop me, and disagree if you've got a different view of this.

Timeline (kinda..)

I received an email from Oraclewatch in response to the Thoughts that I posted. The response mentions gamejack, it mentions "find the writer, he's real. But once you do...". Based on a conversation I had with Schwinn, I accepted that "the writer" is the Eric character that was fired. At first I thought it was Bricker - as we know Bricker is apparently a real character

The Hazeltine blog re-appeared. The Hazels have offered themselves as the "creators" of this ARG, on behalf of the invisible man - who requested the Game be started in order to avert certain doom.

Brian Brickers page is updated from "thinkthinkthink" to "whenwhenwhen", as well as having a picture/flyer of the bunny posted on the page. Also found in the source code of the page is "eventually you must find him; step carefully; he is real; he must believe or we are all doomed."
-------------
So my interpretation of things went: We've been gamejacked, but if you guys really can't figure out where you are/what you're about, contact the writer, he's real. But IF you contact the writer, it will irreparably change the game. Then new information on Brickers page saying "You're gonna have to find the writer at some point, and convince him this is real".
-------------
Ok.. hang on. What? You see the conflict. Here's another for you.
Why would the PM's point us to someone they supposedly fired? Why would they list him as a potential contact, when really the only information he could offer would be essentially spoilers? I'm not so sure anymore, that the "writer" we've been pointed at is Eric. That simply doesn't make any sense.
We've more or less established that Bricker is the real writer. But for the sake of argument, let's not decide which is the one they want us to contact. Why would we have to "convince" him? Bricker is the one that wrote TGATT, and Eric was one of the PM's for all intents and purposes.

Food for thought..
