2) I sent an email to Bricker yesterday, asking some basic questions - when he'd be in, if he was still being followed etc. Tonight, I've traded several emails back and forth with him.
The highlights of those emails are essentially:
A) He had a crappy delayed flight, then the GPS in his car wasn't working on his way to the hotel..
B) He is unsure of where to go, or what to do tomorrow - apparently they didn't have a schedule for him like other conferences
C) He doesn't have any information/anything for Classical and I...?

I was under the impression there was some critical piece of the puzzle we were to be receiving here - and that's what we were waiting for...? Hrm - perhaps it will come tomorrow during the day.

Hopefully I can get some sleep now....

Be prpared for something slipped under your door or delivered

I highly doubt Rage is actually dead; son of a bitch is too tough to just roll over like that. However, Schwinn mentioned to me yesterday that, hey, what if the Cuban was not hunting any of the usual suspects--what if he was hunting Rage?
Which, as it looks, may have been the case. The Cuban followed him down to Santa Rosa and, once again, Port just got caught up in the proverbial crossfire.

In the end! that makes Rage entirely inaccessible/useless right now for the plan he gave us and... well, gee. Now we're back to square one: up creek, no paddle. IMAGINE THAT.

In Rage's defense (wow...did I just say that?), he did mention that he had other plans this weekend. And conveniently he's been taken out of action just as the weekend kicks off. We can't do anything until you guys have the Portland package anyway.

In other news, Wulf and I got to chat with PinkCloud this afternoon--as mentioned earlier, she's running the panel that Bricker will be speaking in tomorrow. We were, more or less, attempting (read: failing) to help her understand what the hell is going on here so she can ask some relevant questions tomorrow. I guess there's gonna be some kinda follow-up interview later on? Maybe?

Also, she's apparently had some contact with the man himself in which he's said curious things--curious, meaning, not quite so convoluted as what he's usually said to us. I guess we will officially find out tomorrow whether or not he's going to pretend this is all 'in-game' or no, but until then, anxiously anticipating it.

Not to mention that thing from the Watchers.

All that said, goddamn, it was quite refreshing to at least sit down to talk/walk through with someone about the insanity that is this friggin' game.

Well, that puts a rather large kink in the plans. Let's hope that he's alright. Not to mention that if there was a gunfight at his motel, Port needs to GTFO. Hopefully he's smart enough to do so.

Well, I guess he found what he was looking for.

DAMN I go away for one day and so much stuff happens.

So hullo from sunny Portland! The air smells like olives and I haven't slept much in the past three days!
No, I did not get kidnapped/murdered/etc etc etc on the train, though I did have an interesting conversation with Rage via text (when I could find a friggin' signal out in the middle of Montana, fdsgfs)

Quote:
(707): Staying safe, my dear?

(952): Yeah, old man. What, you worried about little ol' me?

(707): Just checking in. Have you seen a guy in an old porkpie hat?

(952): 'Fraid not. Why? Should I be looking for him?

(707): No you probably won't see him. Just still trying to track down the Cuban. Enjoy the scenery.

(952): Wait, you think he's here? Or did I read that wrong?

(707): I unforunately don't know who he's after. Just covering the bases.

(952): What about King?

(707): I'm driving up to the Astro now to check.

(952): Well... let me know, ok? You're my only link to anything right now. And I'm worried about King. Worried that his stubbornness may get the better of him this time.

(707): I'll keep you informed.

And... then I didn't hear anything after that. All that told me is that our Mr. Know-It-All actually doesn't know what's going on this time!

Anyway, I have breezed through the past couple of pages, so I think I'm sorta caught up! Convention maddness officially begins tonight. Right now I'm gonna go harass Wulf for a couple of hours and explore giant bookstores before things begin. :B

edit;; TWITTER YOU ARE SO USELESS
so I didn't get this on my phone );

So far things have been uneventful, lol. Had an early ass flight, arrived in Portland at almost 8am Coffee .

I have been asked to do an interview with one PinkCloud about I'm Sorry. Apparently she is part of a panel that will be asking questions/reporting(?) during Bricker's turn to speak. Am going to be trying to setup a time to meet with her later.

And lastly - considering going to buy a spare battery for the Crackberry, as I get the feeling, with all the tweets & whatnot, I'm gonna need it Wink

I'll be watching anxiously to see if you get any response from Hatch, PB, or if Jenny has anything more to say.

==edit==
You can read more about PinkCloud a.k.a. Mela Kocher at the ARGfest page here scroll about 1/2 way down the page.

Haha, yes, yes I do. Needless to say, when telling friends and relatives that I was spending the holiday weekend in "Gun Barrel City," I got a few worried glances. I had a blast though; the lake is really nice.

Then you understand what I mean when I say that whatever sucker got stuck with the task of following me around must have been bored out of their mind! Either that, or they decided to bail on their stalking job on the way out of GBC and went to the lake instead. Smile

Nice work, Paperbound. Guess we play the waiting game now. Which just happens to be my least favorite game EVER, haha.

On a side note, I noticed earlier in the thread that you mentioned something about living near Gun Barrel. I was just there for the 4th of July. My friend's parents apparently own a good bit of land around Cedar Creek Lake, so we went down there and shot off some fireworks. Good times...

This is what I've done. We'll see how well it works.

I sent an email to Hatch at the live.com address. Told him there was a draft on another email address that would like his immediate attention. Taking a hint from another game, I added the gmail address he'd used to send the map (in the event that our PMs have somehow forgotten it) in white text, highlighted in white.

We know the password to the gmail address - I went in on there and created a short draft, stating that we need to know if there's a way to access the GPS feed.

EDIT: That was easy. Now it's up to Wulf and classi and whoever else has a shin-kicking agenda:

There is. As a fallback I believe Darren hid the info in the Portland package.

Perhaps Jenny knows of a way we can contact him?

When we were first looking for Hatch, classical posted a craigslist ad and got contacted by this address:

water.tightSPLATlive.com

ETA: But the last time she'd messaged him, he told her it wasn't safe to contact him there anymore. Hmm.
