Hi! My name is Katie and Eric Schlauss is my boyfriend. He is missing. He was on his way to my apartment last Thursday night and never showed up. I have called everyone and am now e-mailing all of his contacts. If you know where he is PLEASE let me know. I NEED to find him and am SO scared for him! Please help. Katie

Apparently my friend "Eric" is now missing. For those that dont know Eric was some one who was working for the company running the "Game". He was fired for breaking charactor in chat (as Bricker) with Wulf, Classi, Munki, and I.

I'll post some of the ealier emails from him below to save you all some time instead of hunting through 80 somewthing pages...

Mike,
Its people who were working on the Game that disappeared and I mean car-keys-on-the-counter-and-burned-popcorn-in-the-microwave-type disappeared. I thought I was really involved but now know that the company I worked for didn't even know what they were doing. Craig (that's the guy who fired me) told me a week or so ago when I ran into him at McDonalds how bad he felt about what happened with me but he was just following instructions. And I was like you prick! You ran this thing like you were all high and mighty and so focused on the integrity of the story and all that crap and it turns out he was getting his paycheck by following instructions from 3x5 cards and e-mails just like I was! I'm not going to pretend that I get what's up with this thing but I'm definitely rooting for you guys. There're reasons for everything even when it seems like it just meanders through the wilderness and from my personal experience with the little "behind the curtain" that I exerienced they were counting on you guys just trampling everything like preschoolers because you are supposed to lose. Don't.

Eric

What? Who disappeared ? Does she mean someone quit or the actualy cant find them? I now some of our players have gone missing but I assumed that they just quit. How involved were you in the game? We came across some strange stuff while we were digging. Stuff That I would suspect some people wouldn't want to get out. Staty safe and watch your back.

Dude some bad shit is happening and I think it's connected to the Game. I got a call from this girl that I worked with on it and she was freaked out saying that people are disappearing and nobody is saying why so I'm going down my address list and sending warnings. Watch out.

Good catch. The swirl wasn't there before - and I'm certain it's supposed to indicate the location of the Brightman -it's right off the coast of San Fran, in Bodega Bay.

So I think we should schedule it to happen on the 15th when it comes online - barring any objections from Rage, King or anyone else involved in this. That way, we don't have to worry about scheduling, and whoever can make it - can make it.

Also - if there are other options for a conference call out there, like a free online version or something - I'm certainly open to suggestions. I just offered the first thing I thought of.

Hahaha, actually, I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom--the only place on the train without windows--when I heard the stop announcement. :B

It's been a long ass time since I've used Skype, but I can probably figure it out again. As for availability, it usually depends on when I'm not working, as my schedule changes weekly (oh, retail). A usual constant is that weekends are out, unless it's late. But uh, find a date and time that works for the rest of you and I'll see if I can be there.

And... as a treat, apparently I can expect something else in the mail! I had made a mockup of The Great and The Terrible with my cover and stuffed all the manuscript bits inside. It was mostly to see how it looked, but it has been quite helpful when I've needed to look up something really fast and not crawl through all the document files to find it.
Anyway, I handed over to Bricker this weekend as a gift. But he has been fairly adamant about returning it to me with an autograph or some other addition to it, though, so he's asked if he could mail it back! Neat.

Also, paperbound, hi, I'm jealous. ): Take me with yooooooou!

So - I gotta know classy - did you look out the window in Malta?

For anyone not familiar with skype, it's a free program to download and use -and it's free to use to make PC to PC calls - I believe it's even possible to do a conference call of sorts.

I am getting a bit concerned. I emailed Rage, telling him he really shouldn't go with Port, but I have yet to get a response from him. But we know he's been active, so apparently he's ignoring my advice...

We need to get some general consensus as to when everyone is available as soon as possible so we can get Port in and Jenny out ASAP.

I don't have skype, so I'm out on that one - not that I'd be much use for this week anyway, since I'm leaving tomorrow morning for my experiment in insanity...I mean, Comic-Con.

As far as emailing Hatch - I'd gotten the info I'd asked for from him.
My message:
Quote:
This isn't the most secure of channels, so I'll be brief. We need to know if there's a way to get into the GPS feed at the Institute.

His reply was:
Quote:
There is. As a fallback I believe Darren hid the info in the Portland package.

I just tried a bit of a different approach. I logged in on the brightmaninstituteSPLATgmail.com address and left my message as a draft. Then I just suggested to Hatch on the live.com address that there was something that needed his attention there.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the password for that gmail address was discovered several pages back to be 1407oakhurst

Don't know if it will yield the same for you, classical, but it might be worth a try! Glad to see you'll live to kick another day!

I'll probably go back over all of the info we currently have once I get settled in San Diego, to give me something productive to do to pass time.

I am alive! Sorta!
Trains are not bad in theory, but just not in 36-hour trips. Travel in moderation, guys.

I think I twittered something about a vaguely threatening text, which actually happened to be Rage again. I just... totally did not recognize his text as his writing. I'm too used to his prim, proper, grammatically-correct sentences, I think. So it threw me off.
(My responses are approximated because my phone went and cleaned out my outbox for me for no reason. Thanks, phone.)

(952): Who is this, now?

(707): Still arlen my dear.

(952): I see. Where did this warning come from?

(707): Just a message i received from an old friend. I can stop helping if you wish.

(952): No, it's appreciated. I am more concerned, believe it or not, about you. Are you ok?

(707): Doing ok. Sore and now really on the man's radar. Sloppy work eh?

(952): You and me both, apparently.

(707): I will warn you when i can.

(952): Hullo from Glasgow, MT! Malta was entirely uneventful.

(707): Glad you made it through. i was concerned.

(952): Really? ... you sure you're feeling all right?

(707): As right as a rainstorm of oxycontin.

(952): You know, knowing what I do know, that could be entirely normal in your world, hm?

(707): How so my dear?

(952): You've always been different than the rest of us, Rage. On your own missions, in your own world. I've come to expect the unexpected.
That said, lately I can't help but feel like something is a little ...off with you. I really did think you were someone else yesterday, you know!

(707): A bullet through the jaw and shoulder would knock anybody off of their game.

(952): True, but I didn't think you were one to worry!

Also: dang! Nice find, TTHSK. I knew it had something to do with the house.

Anyway, like paperbound, I tried emailing Hatch. He is currently ignoring us both, I guess, 'cause I haven't heard a thing. We're gonna have to work with what we've got, I think.

There were some notes I wrote down on the package stuff that I'm probably gonna put on the Flickr set at some point, but first! SLEEP

Skype sounds like a good idea to me. As long as its some time after 5, I should be available.

Awesome find - I had asked Classy about that this weekend, cuz I remembered mention of a portal, and she reminded me of the house - but - damn! Nice job.

According to the website, it looks like it's down. We need to setup a conference call. Everyone have skype?

Sounds like I missed a lot. I was out all weekend moving stuff out of my old apartment, 200 miles away from home. Ugh.

As I was reading through all of the posts, I remembered something about the house at Oakhurst referred to as "The Portal." Right as I was about to post something to that effect, I read TTHSK's post. There's no way that that's unrelated. Good find!
