- the white dotted line corresponds to the Estero de Americano Creek.
- the Valley Ford dot looks like it's directly over this farmhouse... there's really not much else out in that area, so. Yeah.
- the two white dots near the coast are over a golf course... could correspond to some house on the course specifically, but I'm not really sure. It really looks like one is at least pointing at the clubhouse. And the yellow dot appears to be a marina? Maybe?
- as for what the white thing in the middle of the ocean is, no clue. Other than it might just be our location for the Brightman. There is a cluster of rocks/tiny islands off the head of Bodega Bay, but it doesn't match up with this dot.
I think you are spot on with the farm house and golf course. It looks like the yellow is on the resturant at the marina?

there are some areas highlighted in the new image...

Yeah, I posted that somewhere before I left for Portland. :B Anyway, I seem to be the stalking favorite, I guess! Because, y'know, I already know I'm being "watched". It's not as if I haven't gotten messages with personal information in it like this before! I make things too easy, apparently.
But meh, at this point, I just wave for the camera.
Insofar as alternative communication, we have them... but they're just not as effective as being here on uF. We tried, back when we temporarily lost our thread, but it's difficult to be a) away from the main ARG hub and b) forced to invite people to it via quiet word-of-mouth. There's a couple of changes I was going to make to mostly negate that second point, but the seperation still exists. So we kinda gave up on it.
Also, hi paperbound! (I am still jealous!)

Just popping in to let you know I'm still alive. It was an entertaining but relatively uneventful trip to San Diego (unless you consider accidentally stalking actor Mark Valley eventful - the guy is GORGEOUS in person and he was staying in the same hotel as me - and crying when I got to meet Ray Bradbury).
Now it's time to play catch up here! Face it - you've all missed my completely random and oftentimes useless input.

Haha, looks like you've got some stalkers, classical! Only these stalkers have been professionally trained and possibly licensed to kill.
In any case, I'm wondering what we should make of this. After all, you get an email telling you that you're never safe, and not to be obvious, with a memo from the CIA attached that details your involvement with uF. Do you guys think it may be time to find an alternate method of communication? That would be rather annoying, but if we can't make plans here without being spied on, it may be necessary.

Hahahah, oh dear.
I got an email from our friend Rich Adams (the one with the string of numbers as an email address). It just said this
Quote:
pretty sure they watch you so don't be obvious
(NO, REALLY? I NEVER WOULD'VE GUESSED.)
Had the image below attached. The building is, fyi, the hostel I was at in Portland. (It's actually the only hostel in downtown Portland, so... yeah.) After much squinting, this is what the CIA note says, give or take a few words:
Quote:
In Re: Alternate Reality Gaming Convention ("ARGFest-o-Con")
Contest:
On July 17, 18, and 19 2009, participants of the aforementioned online forums (http://forums.unfiction.com) will congregate in Portland, OR at the Marriott Courtyard Portland City Center hotel for "live events, a day of exciting speakers, ARG moments to take your breath away, and amazing, thrilling, spectacular special guests you ??? I ??? to ???." Essentially this event is similar to documented "trekkie" or "comic" convention (See Circular --- and ---) but without the popular appeal (initial investigation shows that this event will be attended by less than 100 participants).
The Marriott Courtyard City Center was under construction until May of this year and was constructed under the direction of NCS- --- so --- ops will have direct access to individual and online functionality for all guests.
Investigation further indicates that a package was sent directly to primary concierge --- from the now defunct --- safehouse in Arvada, CO with ??? to deliver it to one of the attendees of the conference. We anticipate the delivery going to Brian D. Bricker (See Profile ---) with an unknown distribution plan beyond him. Agent --- speculates that it will go to either --- or --- (who, for unknown reasons will be staing at the W-Portland Hostel (see File ---) instead of the convention hotel. This may to be prevent effective surveillance and indicate that she will be the end-receipiant of the aforementioned package.
The committee's suggestion is that we plant several individuals ... "convention group" and block the ...ing question during ... attempt ??? ... Sarah Stacey and ...
Ahahaha, avoiding surveilance, riiight. Because me being a poor college student and being unable to afford a $130/night hotel room never crossed their minds. ;B
Freaking lol.
edit;; ... jeez
I am apparently too tired to internet, because only three hours later did I realize that I didn't attach the damn thing. SORRY. /sleep now ok

Seconded. Rage is the only one who we've maintained communication with for more than a week, and he seems to share the same goals as us. Plus, I'm way more interested in seeing this game to the end, wherever that may be, than I am in throwing a wrench in the gears.
And that's one in the morning for me too. Luckily, I'm still awake around that time anyway.

In a meta-y sense, I think, more or less, it amounts to us players having a choice where we take this game: we can either follow the party that says to do one thing, or we can follow the party that says not to do that thing. We're at a crossroad; there will be different results either way. It simply amounts to who we put our trust into.
Despite my curiousity, I am more inclined to trust our friend Rage than the man who reeks suspisiously of Agency. :B And I dunno about the rest of you, but playing the blame game and pointing fingers seems a little ...pointless? at this point. We pretty much have our tasks set with the GPS thing and all; it's not as if knowing who's behind this mess would really help us.
I mean, we COULD follow that rabbit hole, but we apparently will derail the main point of this game in the process. If we really want to know who 'did all this', I have a feeling that Rage or the Watchers already know and could be persuaded to share later, anyway.
And man, that is like one in the morning for me, and I work the next day. |D For this game, I will sacrifice my sleep!

Hrm. So the whole poem thing was just another gamejack? Oh well, at least it gave us something to do while we wait for the 15th to roll around. Which, by the way, we now have a specific time for the feeds to come back up: 2300 PST. I don't think that was there before. So... looks like we have been given fair warning to keep our schedules open, if possible.

Had a wee chat with our tattooed man. Essentially, he says we must:
1) Be wary of, hrm, pulling down the curtain and exposing the great and the terrible Oz, as he put it. Annabel Lee does not actually point to him; rather, it is a 'very clever rabbit hole' that, he says, will lead to something that will prevent us from completing our tasks at the Brightman and/or destroy the game as we know it. So finding out who's 'did all this' would be a Very Bad Idea.
(Gee, where have I heard this before? 'Don't contact the writer', my ass.)
2) Learn to spot those with malicious intent--spotting the elil, if you will.
3) Listen to Randall. Which is easier said than done, considering we all have no idea wtf he's talking about.
That, and Port is still alive and apparently misses me? Hahah.

Wow. I feel stupid. Google, you have failed me!
I agree with classical, though in a different sense. Annabel Lee and the narrator shared a young love before she was taken from him suddenly. Rage loved his sister before she was suddenly taken from him, which would be when he realized her sexual nature. He was, and still is, in love with the memory of his sister before she was ruined in his eyes.
If we are to make the connection between the poem and Rage/Ari, then it would seem that Rage still greatly misses his sister, and dreams of her quite often. Perhaps we're not quite done with Ari after all?

Well that's interesting. So I think we need to get in contact with Rage again...
Also, /puts metacap on
The more I read that poem, the more I think the poem refers more to Arlen and Ari's relationship. Mostly because of the bit here: "So that her highborn kinsman came/And bore her away from me", with the 'highborn kinsman' being their father.
There is a message in the poem, different color letters.
Edit: I cant do it right now... have to take the kid out. Grrrr! But his color choice is interesting #666666.
