Got a reply back from Randall - I feel slightly embarrassed..

There will need to be a meeting with me before you can coordinate the island assault---but it is too dangerous right now. 081509 has been compromised but we must get this done before 090909. You will know when it's safe. We will meet in one of the three places that AR has given you clues to. Be ready.
Cheers.
The place Rage has given us clues to eh? Would it be as easy as the places he's tweeted about in the past - for his travels? And if that's the case, how can one person be at all those different spots, assuming that some would be able to make it to one place... etc.. etc..

Good thinking, Wulf. I had forgotten that Randall had asked us to meet with him. As far as I remember, we haven't gotten back to him about that. I wonder if he can help us plan our next move?

I was just re-reading through the last few pages, and a few things caught my attention:
The coded message from Randal, states "I won't be what you think". Are we now getting into Illuminatus! territory? In that series of books, there was an intelligent speaking dolphin, named Howard. And back to what ironnikki said in regard to "Do you know what and do you know why?". Maybe in the most general sense we do. We know what our next task is, but overall? And I certainly don't know what Brian needs to do..
One other thing - it says we must be prepared to meet Randall. I think we've skipped that part. We started to arrange a time and place for us to get together to get Jenny out - but have left Randall completely out of the loop! Or did we acknowledge with him, that we'd meet with him?
So I sent an email to Randall as well - asking in vague terms, what a good way to communicate with him would be, and that we'd be willing to meet with him. I suppose we'll see what comes of it.

I wonder if the "abort" is meant for us - seeing as it's hidden. Perhaps we should lay a few false leads?
[loud voice]So umm, yeah - we're not gonna do that GPS thing on the 15th when it's supposed to go live. We can't get enough of us together at the same time, so.. we'll just try for a later date. Say August of next year...? [/loud voice]
==edit==
I have fired off an email to Brian, as no response to the Tweet. I also sent one to Rage, just checking in to see how things are, and see what his thoughts were about recent developments.

Since Bricker has been so "quiet" lately - not that we ever really communicated with him that much to begin with - I sent him a quick tweet, asking if all was well, and if anything new and exciting had occurred.
If I don't hear anything back from him by tomorow - I'll try email instead. He only recently started using Twitter at ARGfest - so I kinda doubt that will continue.

Man... I should have known better than to think that this plan could have gone off without a hitch, haha. And I'm thinking that we should definitely look into a private convo space. Like you said, classical, any hacker with "street cred" would be able to find his way in without too much issue, but if we're really supposed to find a private method of communication, I don't think that we'll be found. I say we try out classical's idea, and see where it gets us. Furthermore, we can invite Rage and Port into our little private area to direct them without prying eyes. uF forums are strictly OOG, but that doesn't mean that our new one has to be.

Oooh. Finally. Got me an email from our tattooed man:
Quote:
They almost got us this morning before dawn. They are serious. Randall will direct you.

And then no less than ten minutes later...

The plan's gone soft all of a sudden---the Coast Guard has locked up the marine approaches to the island and our resouce out at the Brightman has stopped responding. Cell signal testing now shows a complete block from Bodega to Dillon Beach. I need time to regroup the technical issues and to let the heat fade a bit. I will be back in contact when it's safe.
Cheers.
This might explain why the GPS has been having problems. ... so uh, how about that Plan Z, guys?
Welcome back, Wulf. :B As far as our secret hideway goes... there is a way to keep it invisible to lurkers, publicly open up membership to all, and yet still block the handful of IP addresses that the PM has been regularily using since the start.
Not a perfect plan, considering IP addresses mean nothing to a well-trained hacker, but hey! Should the forum disappear again or something, we'll have a backup plan that will tenatively work (at least until our PM works his away around that block :B).

w00t - I have the internets back! And I think I'm caught up again.
Couple of things - I wonder why someone would still be trying to game-jack this still? That poem by E.A. Poe (I thought it was the musical group Poe at first) almost seemed written for this story we've been following, which would say to me prior knowledge of what was going to occur/happen here. And to offer to know who started it all seems a bit moot at this point doesn't it? I have to admit, I did find it a bit intriguing that we might find a clue at Ari's grave (that's the way I read it anyway).
@Classy - I had the same thought about the "be discreet" bit. We did have our own place for a bit, but like you said there wouldn't be anyway to keep it secret, and yet still have everyone involved....? Plus I thought it rather entertaining when the PM's had no idea where we were, or what we were discussing.
And I believe the latest warning, about the breach of security on 8/15 points to them expecting us to hack the system at that time. Which could mean they're expecting everything else. Perhaps we should start using the iRC chat a bit more again, at least as a way to plan a few things out. And anyone that isn't able to join, we can PM them the information...? Seems awfully complicated to hide something that the PM's know we're going to do anyway.. lol
But in the interest of keeping "in character" - I think we should consider a different date/time for the rescue of Jenny. To keep the Agency off-balance as it were. *waves at the Agency*.
To the part about the map, and point indicators on it - I still believe that the swirly on the original one indicated where Brightman is. And don't forget, we're supposed to be hacking into their GPS tracking system - not to feed them incorrect information, but so as to be able to direct Rage/Port in the right direction(s). My first thought when I saw that new blip off the coast of Cali, was an incoming vessel, or possible a patrol boat? Perhaps all of the blips that we're currently seeing are an indicator of where lookouts are stationed. We do have to consider the approach to Brightman, and we'd have to assume that the government isn't simply staring at a camera pointed at the front door. They're going to be covering different areas of approach, at the very least for an early warning system, if not to outright stop any incursion. My guess is, it's the Agency's version of the Watchers, in some form or another.
Ok - back to getting my 'puter back up to speed. Could someone send me the link to the wiki? I've lost all of my email addresses/websites/information...

Hum. I'm not so sure that means the end for our current plan. I'm gonna hold out for August 15th; if it passes without a change, then there will be need for a Plan B (or Plan M, or Plan Z, or whatever plan we're on now, haha).

Um... guys... we may have a problem...
http://1407oakhurst.info/ no longer has our map, and now has a new message: system failure//abortcode7TN
Checked the source, didn't see anything. Looks like we may need a new plan...

Good catch guys. Everything that has been mentioned so far matches up pretty well. The only thing that I can think of so far that the spot in the ocean could signify would be the Brightman. But why are the other spots on the map marked as well? I don't see how they tie into anything that we've seen so far, unless they're just benchmarks.
EDIT: Now that I think more about it, I thought that the spiral that we saw on the previous feed was the Brightman? Wulf seemed pretty sure about that. Unfortunately, I lacked the foresight to save the image so that we could refer to it later. I'm not sure how it matches up with this one, but I remember that the spiral was on the coast of Bodega Bay, not inland at all.
