As I've been trading emails/tweets with Rage - telling him that this is part of a story - and even sending him the last part - his last tweet said that he couldn't see himself killing her - what benefit would there be?
I'm thinking that maybe we can change the course of the story, like say convincing Rage not to take his guns to the diner.. etc.
I'm a bit confused. Even though the last part of the story says:
Quote:
He had hesitated for a fraction of a second before blowing her brain open
It also mentions her speaking to him after that, as well as finding Rage's two full ammunition clips under the napkin in the diner when Rage goes to make his dramatic exit, which the story says she hears. All of which would have been next to physically impossible if he'd done just what Bricker wrote him to do.
Maybe I'm just wishful thinking, or quite possibly talking nonsense, but I'm saying Rage didn't actually kill her.

Well done all. I'm really disappointed I missed everything this weekend. Unfortunately, RL interferes sometimes.

Wow. Go away for a weekend and miss a lot! Great job with the Brightman, guys!
Poor Port. Even though I didn't have any dealings with him whatsoever, he'll still be greatly missed.
Of course, being indirectly part of the medical field (I'm in home health billing), my first reaction to the nurse's message was exactly what she mentioned - "Ooh! She broke HIPAA!" But for that, I can't really say I blame her. In her position, I think I would have done the very same thing.
That said, classi, you got closer to him than anyone else, so I feel as though I should say I'm very sorry for your loss.
Since we're seeing glimpses of the beginning of this, does this mean we can expect to see TT again? What happened to her after we all had to email her about Santa Rosa Memorial Park? I have no idea why she suddenly came to mind.

Gaaaaaaah I haven't been this upset over a fictional character's death since Andrew Ryan. This is ridiculous.
Anyway. Feel free to be paranoid, Schwinn. (; I'm trying to remember exactly what Bricker told us about TL in Portland and whether or not he was able to choose hosts freely... but as I remember it, I think the only person he could've taken over is Rage. I mean, if he could've chosen freely, he would've taken one of his CIA guards over a long time ago, yes?
That said, I wonder if TL's death/undeath is cause for Rage and his Jacky peculiarities that are starting to spring back up again.

That is beyond sad... Port is with his Bean now. He will be missed.
But...
Jenny was supposed to be dead too, and didn't TL get into Ports mind? maybe trying to find new host body once Port has past?
ETA: Maybe it is just me, not wanting it to be over or just being uber paranoid (thanks to this game) but I sent an email to nurse Reka asking what happened to ports body. If it was taken away by Goberment types, maybe...

God damnit. This game really knows how to mess with your heart doesn't it? I just had to be in school when this happened. Damn. I'm gonna be depressed all day now.
Well classi, you might as well tell Reka your address. I know I'd want something to remember King by had I know him like you did.

So I dunno how you guys handle all the emails that come from this game, but I've got all known in-game addresses currently filtered to a particular folder. I had two emails in my 'box today--one from Bernie:
Quote:
My Dear Miss Billadeau,
I have spent much of today walking. Thinking of who I was when she found me and what I became in the years since. Although she never truly changed me - - by seeing who I was - - she did make me want to be better than I am. I failed though, as we all do. I have been so torn these past few months, between allowing her to achieve what she believes she must and wanting to keep her on that island. I'm now not sure if I originally locked her in there for her, or for me.
Although I'm going to let her go, I am in a freefall as to where that leaves me. I am so done with psychology, but she knew that the first time she sat in my little office. Even told me so, if I chose to help her - - and what young doctor wouldn't have? I guess I could start over and do something interesting, like work on cars or maybe teach ESL classes in Japan. The world is open, isn't it? Thanks to you all.
Speaking of, The Watchers have elected to disband. They originally were a loose group of people dedicated to protecting Her - - more like an invisible cult than the organized force they became when Rage arrived. Some of them still have even retained jobs at their respective agencies - - who now, by the way, are trying to distance themselves from this entire cluster like a junior high school boy who farted near a group of cheerleaders.
I really saw the sun today for the first time in years - - and it was amazing. Brilliant and warm.
Your friend,
Bernie
Then I went back to the inbox to check this other message from an unknown address that looked rather like spam ...

Kortney- My name is Reka and I'm a nurse at the university hospital in San Francisco. I am probably breaking all sorts of HIPAA regulations by doing this but I think this is really important. They brought in a guy last night with three gunshot wounds who went right into surgery and then came to my unit. His name was Portnoy King and late this afternoon her died. We did everything that could be done but his injuries were too bad. I am writing to you because when he started coming to after surgery he just kept repeating your name and asking if you were here. Since we had a padded schedule for the holiday and not many patients I was able to just sit with him. He looked like a nice man but seemed sad - you know what I mean right? Once the medication really wore off he grabbed my wrist and told me that I had to contact you. I could barely hear him though and had to put my ear right next to his nonrebreather and still only caught some of what he said. He told me that you needed to know that it was o.k. and that the Orca -?- is safe. He said that he had no one else in the world and that you somehow set him free. I hope this makes sense to you because it made me cry-he was being so sweet and yet in such bad shape. He said he was never supposed to have gotten to Brighton and that he had done it for you. He died with dignity and I sat with him for a long time afterwards. Some men are good and different and I don't know his story Kortney but he seemed like a really good man. I've never done anything like this but I promised him I would. I'm really very sorry and hope I got your email addy right. Reka
ps- He also had a picture of a little girl in his pocket when they brought him in and he asked me to get it to you. Where should I send it?
...
s-so guys, I am going to go be super depressed now.

Doubt it. I really don't know what to expect, though.
Like I was telling Port, I don't think this is going to end exactly as the writer says it will due to our own interference in everything. But both Rage and Jenny believe their roles are concrete, so they're going to go in playing their parts... trying to convince those two otherwise would be a waste of time.
But! that's just my own theory. This very well could just go down as it was scheduled to do and all my theorizing would go to waste. :B
Well the document that Bricker sent us (version 3) isn't the end is it? I mean there has to be more to that chapter.

Something is wrong, Jenny was gone when I got up this morning. She wrote "Heading to 37" on the counter in the kitchen - does this mean anything to you? I won't forgive myself if something happens to her.

The beginning of the end, my friends!
Yup. So I guess now we just wait?
