After seeing their reactions on twitter I sent an email to infoSPLATsenscape.net explaining what uF is and a few other things got a nice response and the long and short of it is that given our interest, they're going to incorporate ARG elements into the game/pregame. (Yay!)

My email, included for context: Hey, (Not sure who to send this to so i'm hoping it will find it's way into the right hands) Just wanted to let you know i think you got more than you bargained for with the youtube videos. There is a movement out there called "Alternate Reality Gaming" that deliberately blurs the lines as much as possible between fiction and reality, a forum full of lots of people who play these games got hold of your youtube account and the email you sent out regarding it. They thought you were doing one of these games, so they sent you what appear to be fully fleshed out requests for admission to your institute in order to "play along" with you. You can see the majority of these posts here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29765 most of the people also posted the emails they sent you, which should give you an idea of who is coming from the uF forums. If you are aware of ARG's and such then I apologize, I got the impression from your twitter that you're surprised by our actions. Lastly, if you should wish to contact us I should inform you that as the perceived PM (Puppetmaster) of this game, you are not allowed to post in that thread, under the unfiction Terms of Service (This is something thte mods of unfiction take very seriously) Your best method of contacting us then is passing a message through me which I can then post for you as META information, or to spacebass the admin of unfiction, or any of the other site admins. Anyway you've gotten a lot of good publicity here, and your game looks very promising. Azure

Agustin's reponse: Hey Azure, It's good thing that you warned me about the TOS, as I was planning to post in your forums after learning about them! I certainly wouldn't want to spoil the party I vaguely recall reading a bit about ARGs a while ago but never got in touch with an actual site until now. Unfiction is huge, very active, and thus we are very glad to have caught your attention! It was always my intention to create this fantasy surrounding the Hanwell Mental Institute, and so I've replying emails in character even before I knew they were "made-up". To tell you the truth, I imagined that some of them were intended to get more information about our project, ie: a couple were from online publications, but others felt eerily real. Keep in mind that I've received (so far) nearly 40 emails of this kind, so I doubt that *all* of them are coming from Unfiction. The project itself is a traditional point-and-click adventure game, of the cerebral type with no action elements. It's going to be very scary and that's all that we're ready to say before the announcement in July 9th So by all means, feel free to play along with this, and do tell your forum members that it's been a terrific ride so far, and this is only the beginning. You don't need to apologize, on the contrary: this incredible interaction with the "fake" institute has given us a great idea and I can tell you that we're intending to "blend" these requests into the game itself -- so I guess that you could say it will become an ARG of sorts. After I got my reply, I sent off another email asking them if they'd like to explain my symptoms and what facilities and methods they offer.

This is the reply I got when I emailed regarding my insane mother:

They added a bg image to the Hanwell site. I doubt it means anything. but who knows. Maybe they thought it just needed sprucing up.

Also it may be worth noting that one of their "Wall Pictures" is the box from the game Suspended by Infocom (probably their coolest box, and one of the hardest games they ever made), which hints at the game they're working on being along the lines of interactive fiction.
