oh, do see it. The story theme haunts me even now, but maybe because I am a product of that era of nuclear paranoia and fatalism. BTW, the lady in the power suit was played by Denise Crosby, still mostly known at the time for her work on Star Trek:TNG

as i said, i wouldn't be able to post a new round until the weekend, so please let someone else step in next.

How generous. I bet he would like that if he did not decline the honor on forehand. But still, it the thought that counts right? Twisted Evil

That's Brian Thompson on the right... I'm cheating a bit looking at his IMDB page, but I'm gonna go with Miracle Mile.

If I'm correct, catherwood can go in my stead. Smile

yowch, my eyes! (and i must have blotted out that scene from my mind, as I'd never guess it's from the same movie)

I so want to put you guys out of your misery. I actually did pick a movie for the next round, and pulled grainy images from a trailer I found online, but haven't had time to properly crop them -- and now they're on another computer I won't have access to until the weekend. Let me know if anyone wants to keep guessing on this one or take my turn instead.

I make it a point to have the first shot of the first seconds of the movie. Not many movies that immediately have it 'all out' but still it should be memorable right?

Glad you like it. The restaurant still exists. You can still tell it's the same place..

The "guy" on the far left is a lady, see her knees? Anyway, I now know the movie, and it's one i absolutely love and didn't see anyone ever even guess it much less use it, so bravo.

but i'm not going to say what it is just yet, because I don't have any idea what to offer next -- the one I wanted to give you was already used once, but it was years ago, and it was guessed immediately from a single shot (which isn't even available now, as the attachment got lost in the days of a server upgrade, i assume) so I guess I'll have to keep digging.

btw, although I know the answer, and I found confirmation with the diner scene, the first shot is harder for me to confirm or even remember, for some reason. Good clue :)

Three things... 1. Those two guys to the left of the register sure are interested in the pie case. 2. The guy on the far left is color coordinated to the decor. 3. I guess there was a time when designers weren't gay and there were monthly contests to come up with the ugliest restaurant design possible. I think I've eaten in this place.

Yeah, I got nothing. What's your point?

You are right and you should.

By popular demand: Next pic. This shot definitely is plot related.

what i'm seeing is a trombone slide with a photograph (or a very well-aimed mirror) showing the face of a young woman with an extreme 80's haircut. IMDB's plot search only turned up a few bio-pics from the Big Band era, but I swear I should know this one...

And you'd be right. It's not Ziggy or anything like him/it. Although they seem to have the same hair dresser.
