readme.txt has another message from our contact whom we now have a name for:
Quote:
Hello again! Sorry to keep you waiting.
I managed to get some files back into the Level 2 directory and enable directory listing.
But, as far as I can see, LAINSY has fragmented the files and hid them somewhere. All the
file you can see in the directory right now is all I was able to recover. Hopefully, you can
find something out of that. I can't open the files form the terminal I am using since this is
only a command terminal for the lights in our area (which is linked to the network) so I
really only have very limited access. My computer's network has been shutdown my LAINSY and she,
quite literally, unplugged the network from the outside of the facility. So we at the Antarctica
Facility is literally disconnected from the outside world through regular means. However, I am
able to tap into the limited network that our facility has deployed to operate light, physical
security, and life support system.
Ok going into what we are meant to do. LAINSY keeps a secure connection to the outsied world using
her own line of communication that is separate from the normal communications that we use, of which
LAINSY has already cut off. The facility is 56 Levels down from the surface of the Antarctic, which
is covered with ice. I'm not very sure at which level LAINSY is, but I'm sure there's bound to be
information about this facility in her other mainframes in the other FAILTECH facilities.
There are four other FAILTECH facilities and their exact location is kep secret that only the
BODs and the Fred Don, FAILTECH Founder and Owner, knows. At each of these facilities, LAINSY has
different mainframes performing different tasks. And as I have already stated, the Antarctica Facility
houses her security mainframe. What we need to know is where her main logic mainframe is. Each facility
houses a small chuck of her logic mainframe (usually as a backup) but most of her logical thinking is
calculated and performed at her main Logic Mainframe. So if we get to figure out where that is,
we should be able to reset her.

welcome.txt gives a 404, which is strange. Why would it list a non-existent file?

contact.txt lists two new E-mail addresses.
You can contact supportSPLATfailtechnologies.com
or, you can contact the AI at lainsySPLATfailtechnologies.com
And yes, I typed that before Cherrytree made his post. Still thought I'd transcribe the addresses, though, just for good measure.

I'll go contact Lainsy. I'm usually good with people. Don't know about AI's though...
/lainsy still does not work. There is no L3 link yet. So I guess the only 2 options are the emails given to us.

Use a cheap microphone (plugged into your mic line), and position it close to your speakers. Play the l2sig.mp3 while running RX-SSTV (a software program). It will auto-detect what kind of signal it is, and it will slowly read the signal until the file is done. The program allows you to save the pictures as gif.
Next part, paintstakingly try and determine if that character is a 1 or 0...
Edit--These guys are very communicative. I like this!

I was actually about to ask you and punxtr if you could describe the process you used to get your images because I didn't have a clue and I'd like to learn. PM would be fine as I would probably need a pretty detailed step by step.
Same as punxtr's post below. Except I used MMSSTV to generate the image...
Oh, and instead of holding the microphone next to the speakers, I plugged in some "over-the-ear" headphones and stuck the microphone inside them.

Well now we know what LAINSY stands for:
Quote:
As far as I know LAINSY is Logical Artificial Intelligence Network System.. so LAINSY is in fact a network?
and he insists on telling his boss.
Quote:
I see... but I honestly think I should consult this with my boss since FAILTECH standard procedures says so.

Did you manage to work that out by the image I uploaded, or did you work it out from your own image? If the latter, how did you manage to clear up the noise and what software did you use please? Just for future reference... cheers!
I used your latest image to get the translation so kudos to you.

Well at least I have tweets to pass the time:
Me:

Well according to our source it's been a secret and the main core for LAINSY is housed there. Only a few employees know of it.
FAILtech:

wait what? are you sure? waaaait, is this a joke? #failtech I might have to consult this with my boss
Me:

Are you sure he would know? I'm not joking. Haven't you ever wondered where LAINSY was housed?

Audacity. Audacity. Audacity. Why no one uses this is a mystery to me! /sarcasm
It's a good program. It's free. I use it to record my LPs.

Damn, I had the username but my password appeared like this first try "raanan'sun". I went to go buy bread for dinner--not my choice--and someone beat me to it. Ballz!
