All this has led to a clue for the level 4 password...

Ah I see... So he's been doing some work down there. Now that get to think about it, there is indeed a connection between humpty dumpty and the level 4 default password. They say it's something to do with him being an egg. I can't recall at the top of my head the actual password, but I'm guessing humptydumptyegg or something like that. I'll have to ask my technicians or engineers if any of them knows the password.
My own login does not work, so it seems only the default codes work. Because if mine works, it should allow me access to all levels, that is as long there's a login prompt.

P.S. I just tried humptydumptyegg before sending, and nope, that's definitely not the password.

Yeah, perfect! Or perhaps even L3 if he can get past the block he's put in place. That's probably the most direct method of contacting him since he's probably glued to that terminal screen. He'd notice it right away.

Maybe Dan can leave a message in the L4 folder for the guy on the inside (Genus something)? Might work?

He's right.
failtech/L10/
just gives a 403 without ever asking for a login.
Ask him to try L4. See if whats-his-name has gotten to that point and left us new files yet.

Looks like even Dan's stuck...

What is this? There's no login for level 7 and above! I can't access LAINSY if there's no login or way to get on the Level 10 directory.

Wow. I do think that is the fastest I've seen a PM respond to... anything!
Now that Dan can access the site again, perhaps we'll start seeing new files appear at the various access levels, as he starts to make changes. We should all be watching every part of the site from here on out.

Exactly right - his reply:

Ah yes, we can do that. However there's a limitation to LMAO, and that is we need a direct line of sight to wherever we would want to manipulate things. So, if we wanted to create something down there, it's a no go since there's no direct line of sight. Remember, LMAO stands for "Light Molecular Assembly and Organization" so it mostly relies on light to be able to do things, and we can't do that if he's 5 levels below the ground inside an Explosives Testing Bay.
And that's where Duo Corp, could come in. They are developing this technology that can enhance LMAO and allow it's power to penetrate solid materials. However, their technology is still under development so we can't be sure if we can use it. I'll try to contact Weston Hall, Duo Corp.'s CEO, and see what they have.
Ah, why haven't I thought of accessing the FAILTECH site outside the FAILTECH Network. I'll redirect my all of my activities now to my personal network. Maybe it can do some more help once I gain access to the website's admin section.

Just had a confused reply asking how we intended to use LMAO technology, and also asking
Quote:
how come you have access to the admin section of the website? We can't access that section right now it always ends up with and access denied error, even with the default codes and known login.

By the way, I told Dan we were now working as part of a team - so he knows I'm not alone helping out here. He was fine with it, saying

Anyways, if you were to have a group of experts, can I expect them to keep what happens here in the facility a secret? Oh, what am I asking. We can wipe your memory anyways if needed. So sure, if it can help get things going faster it would be a yes.
I'll suggest your idea - love it!

Well, the smoke idea isn't a bad one, however, our guy is in a bomb shelter. Bomb shelters experience fire all the time, so I doubt that particular room would open up in that scenario.
However! Dan said they needed a way to get a message to him? Perhaps they could use LMAO to create arrows in the air pointing to that area Dan talked about where the blast doors could be opened. Or perhaps it could be used to draw a message on a wall. It's worth pitching to Dan, IMO.

Tried listening to the notegg file via Audacity and got zilch.
Do we know if LAINSY will open doors in case of a fire? I wonder what would happen if it was possible to remotely use LMAO technology to generate some smoke in a specific area.

Latest correspondence from Dan Miller:

Sorry if it took me a while to respond. If he is indeed blocking us, then he's doing a pretty good job at it despite us having an upper hand of having a team of technicians and engineers working on this.
I'll speak with them to see if in some way we could change our approach so that Genus could know who's up here. Let's just hope he could pickup on it and actually cooperate. Because if doesn't, eventually it will be his downfall as well.
Have you thought of any ideas of how to get in?

Could the Not Egg thing refer to the answer to the riddle is not an egg? Since the Humpty Dumpty is thought of as a once upon a time riddle.
