Italian children's shown animator Ruggiero Magro was found dead at his home on January 8th, 2009. Magro was famous in his home country of Italy for writing and animating the children's show "Il Ballo di Fortuna", or "The Dance of Fortune". The children's show was about Arlecchino and Colombina, a couple of Punch and Judy operators who lived in the town of Carnival. Similar to later shows like "Latibaer" and "Kerzebucht", "Il Ballo di Fortuna" was a surreal children's comedy that was later imported to the United States. Unfortunately, the US version of the show saw almost no episodes aired, as executives stated that Magro's scripts and subject matter too "dark" for its audience of children. There have been persistence rumors that three episodes of the US version of "The Dance of Fortune" were made, but none were ever released by the studio or Magro himself.
