I'm pretty sure that quote could contain a pair also.
Also ITERATION could be a Gronsfield cipher since that uses a number instead of a keyword.

Hmmm...
Well, here's what he said. I'm not sure how that could help, so I guess I'll just wait for his code breaker tomorrow.
Quote:
So I let my team into the encrypted files (and also Miller's staff) and have found nothing, yet. However, I'm expecting to have a encrption breaker soon and should do the work for us, that is until you haven't solved it yourselves.
One of Miller's staff (one of his programmers) suggest that the encrypted files seems to be encrypted in an algorithm that requires TWO passwords, as suggested by the keywords found and possible in the other files revelead on the Secure File Stoarge areas. I hope he's right, and I hope that will help you speed up the process. The programmers are at work right now to create the solving program that will try to solve the encryption by brute-forcing them. Not very time-wise but surely we'll get some answers soon.
I'll update you again, soon if anything comes up.

Yeah, I work weekends, so I'm hardly ever available then. Haven't tried any of the other messages yet.

Looks like we'll have a hint by sometime tonight.
Quote:
Sounds great, we'll try to do something. I'll have some of my people to try this out. I'll let some of Miller's staff do some work as well. Miller's staff are much more well informed about encryption and such. My team's expertise is not on these kinds of tasks, while Miller's team is much more experience with these things.
I'll update you all later tonight if anything comes up or just to mere send out an update. I was just a bit busy with things I am supposedly be doing as the chairman of the board. So yeah. Don't worry, I am recovering well and my blood seems to be getting back up.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Miller or Orein, no progress on their condition right now.

New OOG email:
Quote:
Hello! Due to some circumstances, we're having a small issue which may not affect you or the game, however, we are indeed sending this out as a notice for your own safety, and ours. Recently, a site completely OOG and unrelated to the was hacked. THERE ARE NONE OF YOUR INFORMATION IN ANY PART OF OUR SERVERS (which we only have is your email, anyways) and thus this compromise will not affect your security. However, we do advice you that if you spot anything suspicious and probably NOT a prt of the game in any section of the game sites, please do contact us immediately and ask about it. We are still trying to search for anything that is affected by the security breach. Apparently, the hacker left a small code that can allow him FULL ACCESS TO THE SERVER AS ROOT and thus even perfectly isolated and segmented sites unrelated form each other can be affected. We promise you you and you information is safe, and we do repeat, that NONE of your information is stored on the server. We have never collected any information, so this issue DOES NOT AFFECT YOU AND YOUR PRIVACY AND SECURITY. Our emails are uncompromised as they are not connected to the server at all. They are integrated to a different provider than the one who is hosting our web services. We do think that the game site will be unaffected as we have already pulled out the entire site that has been hacked. We are still in the process of tracking down the code (seems to be well hidden) and who is responsible for this. While we're busy with that, you shouldn't worry about the pace of the game as it is unaffected (unless the game site is indeed affected, but we think not). This message was just sent as an advisory, and to make sure you are aware of the situation. We don't want you to be left out in the dark when something terribly wrong happens. Sorry for this, and we hope you don't loose any interest in continuing the FAILTECH ARG. FAILTECH ARG Team
I've finally reached Episode 3 for the wiki! The other episodes are still just frameworks.

Holy crap! Great job! I think the other ciphers might not be vigenere. I think file was named vinegar, as it sounded like vigenere. The others might be something else...

Well done zeighy.
New code here. Looks like more of the same. Still can't figure out the others.

Ok, got this from Alex:
Quote:
Sorry took me long enough to respond. Lot's of thing happening and lot's of tihngs discusssed at the meeting. It almost took forver to get done. Of course Miller's absence was a big topic, especially they're linking it to the issue with Orein. So far, nothing we should be worried, aside from the fact that the USA government, wait, no. The CIA is after Orein. From what Don has said, some troops had been assembled around Space Command. They can't enter because of the field Orein is creating form within the facility. If you think about it, as long as FAILTECH has a foothold in the USA and the government can still negotiate with Don, the government is not a threat. However, it's just really the CIA that's after Orein, and not the government.
Anyways, moving into further topics, the team I sent should arrive at Space Command in a day or two. Because of the information that US troops had formed their camp around the facility, we will need the other sub to access the facility out of sight of the troop. ALthough it's risky business to pull our sub from the US Naval Yard we parked it in, I have re-routed the team to the sub and use it. It will take us a bit more longer to get the team there, but we'll have the assurance that they won't or at least most unlikely to be detected by the troops around the facility.
If you still haven't cracked the encrypted messages, fire away and I'll let the people here try their luck on them.
I replied telling about your decryption and that the others have yet to be cracked. I am waiting for the reply.

Wow, now aint that very relevant? CIA is after Genus and Genus uses some encryption the sam as the CIA... that was a darn subtle hint there....
EDIT: OK, I'm still away so I can't try this theory out.... so I hope you guys get some progress on this...
EDIT 2 saturday:the VINEGAR code has been decrypted... (or rather "encrypted?")
I AM FAILTECH
I AM DEATH
I WILL BRING PEACE
I WIL BRING THE END
I CAN BE CALLED AS A GOD
BUT I AM NOT
I AM JUST HUMAN
BUT I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING
EVERYTHING THAT WILL HAPPEN
AND EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED
EVERYTHING HAS BEEN MINE
I AM THE KEY
SCARLET IS MY DAIGHTER
AND SHE WILL BE THE ONE WHO WILL
GUIDE ME FOR I AM THE ONE WHO
WILL CORRECT WHAT HAS BEEN
WRONG AND THE UNIVERSE SHALL BE
PURE FROM THE SINS OF THE OTHER
THIS IS OUR TIME
THIS IS FOR US
AND NOT THE AFYG
THE REJECTED ONES KICKED FROM
THEIR OWN FUTURE LIFE
did my best to format it in the most readable way...
edit 3: I'm still trying my luck on the other ones... either I have the wrong key/s or that they are encrypted in a different way... this one tool me almost overnight and the entire morning to crack... and when I did it's FYEAh moment! Very satisfying....

Is everyone familiar with the Kryptos sculpture at the CIA? These look a lot like that. I am thinking some sort of grid manipulation will work but I haven't found the right setup yet.

Nah, I would have told you guys. I normally say something like "I got it, I'll let you guys try and figure it out first before I reveal my solution", with less words
I wish I could figure this out.

@punxtr: Are you doing your "I got it but refuse to post a spoiler" thing again, or are you just thinking out loud?
Also, I tried reading every 7th character both horizontally and vertically, including and omitting the first character. Got nothing.

Also, new ciphers, "Accept", is in the DOCS folder under Orein and "Iteration" is in the BLUE folder. They are just like "Orein" and "Vinegar", except "Iteration" has a line of 7's at the top. I'll be working on them when I can today. There has to be a clue to help us solve them somewhere.

Wow, look at this one...

Quote:
And one nice lady in our team asked me if I can make a cipher so hard that it can take them
days or years to crack. So I went ahead wrote her a love letter, sent her clues and let her
at it. two days later, she went back at me and kissed me. From there, I knew she cracked it
so I asked how. You know what she said?
"If you're going to make it hard, don't give it to the person most determined to crack it."
