work Dia Renalda & runninsavvy. Guess Derek will get some sort of 'dish washer'. There was wacky, circular logic in my choice & think we'll see soon enough.
Dottoe, by "Ruggio" do you mean "Ruggiero Magro"? (Page 5) Am really curious who that fellow's daughter might be.

Did my welcome post not go through? Sad :( Welcome though!
Edit: I figured out what the code written in the margins was.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I used a Vignere cypher with the keyword of punch(Thanks for the idea, runninsavvy!) This was the result:
The Lord of Misrule must punish Pulcinella for showing the strings that pulled them all and thus condemning them with knowledge.
Your welcome! and thanks for the link, it really cleared some stuff up!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Oh, and im guessing that the lord of misfits is the jester, and i learned from a quick google search that pulcinella is some classical fictional character often referred to as "Punch" in english. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulcinella Just thought that was interesting, but I feel like we may not know the answer to this one until we see whats at the coordinates.

Driving - some connections?
Hey guys, im new to the ARG scene, and i really like this one so I decided to jump on the bandwagon. Here's what I got for the newest looking for derek post:
- I was just trying out a bunch of random online cipherers and found that if you use the code "punch" in the vigenere autokey with the encoded message found in the comic book, the first two words are "The Lonq" but everything else is gibberish. idk, i just feel like most of these sorts of things, once ciphered, usually start with a "the". Sorry about not being much help but this was all I could get.
(Oh, and this is my first post on this blog as well so I may be completely screwing up the placement and/or proper usage of this post)
(One last thing, does anyone know of any good tutorials on how to cipher these things and when to use each different type of cypher? thanks!)

That or because my first (deleted) answer was just the translated puzzle, though they do look like about the same time.
(I gave him soap over clean clothes)

@amandel77Correct. Does Derek get a clothes washer or a dish washer?
Likely this was a photo-finish, Dottoe. Will just throw the choice into the group to puzzle Jester's twist & check back tomorrow. All help appreciated bigtime.
Sent Jester my answer to this substitution cipher:
THE MAN WHO MAKE IT DOESNT WANT IT. THE MAN WHO BUY IT DOESNT NEED IT. THE MAN WHO HAS IT DOESNT KNOW IT.

There is at least one more word in the cheat code (presumably more, "These ____ big" isn't a phrase). The Archive is in game, Grace pointed it out to us. The other site they've been pointing out is Debasing the Beef Canoe, has anyone found anything suspicious there?

Okay, fine. How did she find the Archive? "Jester" doesn't lead to the Fear mythos on the first few pages of Google, or anything else. That page on the Archive that links to that first page of the Steward's blog doesn't mention the Jester. She'd have to search a pretty good while to begin with to be able to find the posts she found and commented on. Why would he advertise on the Steward's blog to begin with if he didn't want other Fears/etc. to become involved?
I know this is in depth and nitpicking, but that's kind of our job in these games. Every clue, every sentence is nitpicked and torn apart to try and figure out what we can do, and to find the similarities and the inconsistencies in what they say.
Like her mentioning having read the House of Leaves, but the name Karen meaning nothing to her. Even after she found out he had the book. There are clues that cross country, but it's touchy for them to explain how she found Jester, or the Archive? I'm confused, and when I started asking questions, I seriously thought it would lead somewhere. Now it's just making it more confusing.
On that note, I'm going to bed. It's obvious that Jester, and possibly Grace, are reading these. I mean no offense. I'm honestly trying to help, and thought maybe there was a clue hidden in how she found him to begin with. If it was just my making something out of nothing, I'm sorry. See y'all when I wake up.
Not going to say you're making something out of nothing because while you may be, you may not. It does stand to read though, that our PM would want people who knew of the fear mythos to be the ones playing this game. No knowledge of it would make the game extremely difficult. He made the same, "would you like to play a game" post on the archive as well. I'm sure if you keep digging through all the blogs, you'll find more where he made these posts as well. These PMs know that the players will click every link they find, look through every blog, to see what they can find. The more you post on blogs for the mythos your game deals with, the more players your going to get.
So while this link may be a key to the game later on, at *this* moment, it doesn't seem to be. I will congratulate you on the find though, good catch!
EDIT:
From the Jester's Twitter:
"More advice: I left a number of comments in different places to advertise my game. They are irrelevant. I was merely looking for players."

I found it pretty easily for one of his riddles. She has her own explanation from Twitter.
For posterity,
Quote:
@LookingGrace- If you really must know: I had an online friend who reads Slenderblogs - when she saw the name "Jester" she emailed me the link.
By the way, there hasn't been a new riddle lately, has there? I was hoping we'd get a second chance at giving him some of the essentials. Maybe we're supposed to be finding the rest of the cheat code?

Basic human empathy? Meta-theory, advertising the game. She found his twitter before noon the next day, it's obvious she was looking into finding out who this guy was.

Okay, sure. I get that part. Timeline's correct, I already checked. How would she have found the Steward's blog if she only knew the Jester/Wooden Girl through the note? That site isn't even mentioned until days later, in a clue that lead to the Archive. Let alone, why would she be consoling Slendy's proxy?
