It sounds like another riddle, with the way it is written. "These" is a plural, so... "These are big golden _______s." Now, would the whole phrase be the cheat code, or would the 'answer' to the riddle be the cheat code? If so, what are golden items that they might be referring to? Stars, suns, apples? I don't know. That's my two cents for the cheat code so far.

Doggie code message
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
booba is right about Tw = 12 and with Derek's updated code would make the last word L-N-O-E-D-G which rearranges to GOLDEN. If Tw = 2 then the only word we could make would be BONGED which doesn't seem likely. So the complete message is CHEAT CODE FOURTH WORD GOLDEN. Not immediately helpful to Derek, but hopefully it will be worth him tearing up the dog for.

Im with you that it is probably GOLDEN, but I just used an online anagram thingamajig and another word was LONGED, so if it turns out that the second word + GOLDEN makes the phrase pretty weird, we can always try LONGED...

LatentMoths Fantastic work Smile (as usual)

Your work checks out, Derek must have made an error?

If its a missing letter, the only things that work are BELONG and BYGONE ?

eta: if Tw = 12 we get GOLDEN ?

Corrected by Derek:

I'm going to go ahead and assume that if they're giving us the fourth word in the cheat code, that we've missed the second. We've found the first, the third, and now possibly the fourth. Have we figured out what the word actually is? Could it be "dog" as simply as that? Or is it more complicated?

For Derek's doggie code...

Partial solve
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Ok so each small piece of code represents a number (e.g. E = 8 and Ty = 20). I then converted each number to a letter then unscrambled to get a partial message.

E-Ty-Fi-Th-O—Fi-Th-Fit-Fo—Et-S-E-TO-Fit—FO-Et-TTh-Fit—Tw-Ft-Fit-Fi-Se
8-20-5-3-1----5-3-15-4----18-6-5-21-15----4-18-23-15----2-14-15-5-7
H-T-E-C-A----E-C-O-D----R-F-H-U-O----D-R-W-O----B-N-O-E-G
CHEAT CODE FOUR(T)H WORD ?????

I am guessing there's a missing T to make "fourth". I can't make anything out of that last set of letters so either there's another mistake in the code or I messed something up (eyes are blurry at this point). I am going to send Derek a message on his blog to double check the code to see if there are any errors in his transcription.

Rest of diary is up.

There's one thing I spot, and it's what looks like the number nine on the drawing of the forest. Heh. It COULD be the page number, but why only write it on one page?

Also, looked at underlined words and capital letters, didn't find anything peculiar. Maybe someone else can.

New blog post by derek. Trying work out some substitution code on it...

Edit--There are en-dashes and em-dashes. The em-dashes most likely break each word, and act as a space; the en-dashes break up the numbers so you can decode the proper letter for the word. This may require the Book of Leaves again.

Edit2--I substituted each letter with its case-sensitive number equivalent for base64 (separated by word):

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
E-Ty-Fi-Th-O—Fi-Th-Fit-Fo—Et-S-E-TO-Fit—FO-Et-TTh-Fit—Tw-Ft-Fit-Fi-Se

4-19,50-5,34-14

5,34-19,33-5,34,45-5,4

4,45-18-4-19,14-5,34,45

5,14-4,45-19,19,33-5,34,45

19,48-5,45-5,34,45-5,34-18,30

Maybe that could help someone. I'm sort of busy.

Maybe, most 6 year olds don't name themselves "Karen B.". But it's hilarious to think he was using a Crayola 12 pack when he had a perfectly good pen on the previous page.

Anyone think that maybe this was Jester putting a title to a diary already made? or making one up for his purposes? I mean, he and the rest of the puppets already made blogs. Why not diaries? Aren't they somewhat along the same lines?

There probably isn't, it was just an example. If there is a code, we'd likely have to see more pages anyway.

Or Jester recently phrased his printed book msg to match up somehow with the underlined crayon letters. Don't see ROT13 in the crayon underlines tho am tired Confused
