Still working on it... although if we were just going to guess, I would think Slick would be narrowed down to either Scotty, Sulu, or Chekov.

After sending an email containing "Boethius" to the email adress I got a reply saying:
| Quote: |
Subject: Yes. Perhaps the bridge.
Hale: 45°28′N 73°40′W
Michael: 34°34′29″N 83°19′12″W
Templar: 42°21′28″N 71°03′42″W
Slick:
Solve for Slick.
Tevan Aelaan
|
What I can figure out so far is that Slick is a name of something or someone (hence the capital letter).

I'm going to go to sleep now (4 am in Sweden), but I'll leave you with what I got from sending an email to Teevan with a possible "answer":
"No. Tell me about the first line of what you see.
Tevan Aelaan"
And I replied that I believe "ion coolants" refer to some kind of plasma coolant (because that's a star trek reference of an ion (plasma) coolant I could find). The answer was:
"On 9/9/2011 9:47 PM, Zhirgoyt wrote:

I do not know where the holy hippos fit in, at least not thus far.
Perhaps ion coolant means something else. Perhaps holy hippos do, too. How do you like your eggs?
Tevan Aelaan"
Scrambled eggs anyone?
(It's justified this time! )

Consolation of philosophy was writting by Boethius, who has given his name to a crater on both mercury and the moon.

Another thing about the phrase stilyagi debs writing lyrics in a munich hotel.
There is a hotel in Munich called the Mercure München City Center. Another Mercury reference there.

These are most likely wrong; they are shared between the moon and mars, whereas I now think Mercury is at least part of the puzzle.

http://www.thunderbolts.info/tpod/2009/arch09/090420rays.htm
Apparently there are some strange rays emitting from the Tycho and Kuiper (craters on mercury and the moon). Tycho refers to Tycho Brahe (an astronomer just like Kuiper). Is it possible that the locations we are looking for are those of these two craters?
Edit:
Both "stilyagi debs" and "sacred hippo" are nations of nationstates.net.

Some random thoughts on the first line of the clue:
Hippos is the greek word for horse
Hippos is a place in Israel that has biblical connections (holy?): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippos
Ion coolants - could be a cryptic reference to the Ionian Sea?

I can only find one crater name which the moon and mercury have in common: Kuiper
Kuiper gave his name to the Kuiper Belt: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuiper_belt

I was wondering about what was said about the fact that there are three highway intersections in the US often referred to as "mixing bowls". Two of them have "interstate" in the names. Just saying
What we "have" so far.

interstate (mixing bowl)
mercury (freddie)
the moon (17%
mars (38%)
carry that weight (beatles reference)
crazy little thing called love (freddie mercury song)

What we don't have any leads on so far is the Ion coolants [of] holy hippos thing. Anyone know anything that is ever referred to as hippos?
Edit: did anyone else google stilyagi debs and arrive at a nationstate-website. "The Stilyagi Debs of Luna States"
stilyagi debs writing lyrics in a munich hotel
I'm leaning towards moon and mercury...
Edit 2: OR!
[SPEC] googling moon and mercury -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury's_moon with the convenient name of "31 Crateris" (coincidence?), which is actually a star (Ringo Starr anyone?) part of the "crater"-constellation.
Hmm... might be reading a BIT too much into it.[/spec]

I found a St. Augustine of Hippo, and religion that worships Pink Hippos. Ion Coolant is a mystery, but if you search for that term, the odd coincidence is that the first hits are about the Saturn Ion....*Saturn* Ion. Hmm.
Not sure yet where this goes, but the thing about Carry the Weight must relate to the Weight concept of 38% and 17% gravity.
