Maybe you guys should start posting fill email threads here so that maybe we have some context on the conversation. I hope you guys don't mind... hehehe
Especially right now there's too many people you guys are in contact with... it could help us (like me) who's not in contact with them have some idea how to help out with the conversation so that we know what you guys know so far and you don't... I'd be happy to fill in for some theory building if I get to understand more of what the characters are saying...

Which email are you talking about?
I find it kind of odd that the PMs would email someone not previously involved this far into the game...

Actually, I'm pretty busy lately. Give me like a good month or so, and I should be free. I may have to miss out on episode 4. I got the spec's email as well. I don't trust him.

Well, I sent Genus an email letting him know about the names we have run into. Maybe we should ask some questions about who was fired in 2008 and why. I'm just at a loss trying to decide who to trust and who we should help. And why do I keep feeling like we should have let Lainsy loose with her bad self. I don't know.

Jean and I have been collaborating for her investigation to find this saboteur and her team came up with something interesting:
Quote:
One clue that may help you is this word we found. It says, "Orkudusu" which we have no clue to what it is. Maybe you and your team have an idea to what it is?
So far then we have Jhuku, Byruniuku, and Orkudusu. WTF. Perhaps someone should fill Genus in on these names? I wasn't around for the interactions with Genus, but I can try to contact him later if no one else gets a response from him.

I also contacted Ryan Bruno and asked some questions about Arnold, Scarlet, and Lainsy and about what is going on. His reply...
Quote:
It's very sad to see thing fall apart, and mostly to blame is LAINSY's absence. Anyways, regarding your question, Arnold is a low-level AI that works beneath LAINSY. In fact, Arnold is still LAINSY. However, if you look closely Arnold is not in fact "networked" which defeats the definition of LAINSY itself. Arnold is a self-contained AI that is in place for each facility, outpost, office, and so on. He can work even without LAINSY, and his usual task is to maintain LAINSY and the hardware. He has access to the hardware (includes robots) to keep things automated. In the event that SCarlet is out, the main LAINSY AI, Arnold will still work since he is self-contained. He can still send out system messages, and so on. In the event of an emergency, or if it detects any inbound emergency, Arnold can function to alert people in give them instructions. Usually, Scarlet does such tasks, but in the event that Scarlet is out, Arnold will kick in and do the task. However, what Arnold can't do is process advanced tasks to prevent or contain any troubles. Since processing advanced routing and other controls to contain (let's say a biohazard) in a particular areas and neutralize it needs so much AI computation, only Scarlet can do such tasks since she can distribute the needed resources and processes across the network and get immediate results and do things needed to be done such as locking out sections, make a path for employees, and so on.
Simply put, if Scarlet is out Arnold can do almost the same tasks, but only on a smaller degree.
Ryan Bruno
FAILTECH, LAINSY Dev Team
So from what I understand, Lainsy being "shut down" by some external source is what is causing all the problems. That's why Arnold was the voice in the mine and that's why he couldn't do as much to keep it from happening. I bet it was the same way at the Atlantic Research Facility. I need to think. Too much data!

Well, I almost missed it cause it went to junk mail. I got an email from the person who 45459 is with.
Quote:
To keep things quite anonymous and that actual receipient would be harder to trace, I have BCCed everyone and sent this back to myself.
Ok, first of all you can call me netspec and I am one of those who are trying to help out this guy. We call him Kid since he doesn't have a name. He let me read some of his emails from you guys and seems like he's a very important person for FAILTECH. Yes, I'm the guy who previously worked for FAILTECH and was removed from the company for misbehaviour.
I don't know if you'd trust me about my words, but all I want is a piece of your time to hear me out. I think it's much more of importance to note this important thing going on at FAILTECH right now since it's very relevant to the actual things we're doing at FAILTECH.
Since you guys, or maybe just some of you, are working with some top profile people at FAILTECH I want you to understand that I'm keeping my indentity pretty much a secret. But that's not important, what's important is what's going on. I have worked with FAILTECH between 2006 and 2008. From their office to one of their facilities. However, my main task at of why I'm at FAILTECH is not because I needed to work but rather to investigate something.
I am aware of some weird technologies at FAILTECH, but that's not my priority. There are people in FAILTECH who seem to be there for something else as well. They're like me, however, their objective is different. Think of me as a spy. I spy inside FAILTECH, not for FAILTECH, but for specific people. I can't mention who I actually work for and who I'm looking out for, however, one thing is for sure and that is FAILTECH will soon fall apart. Which is why we;re smuggling some FAILTECH goods for keepsakes and to attempt to reverse engineer them later on as needed. I know it would be easier to just copy the blueprints and so on, however, there are several security measures in place and that's not easy to do. What's easier to do is stealing the goods since there's not much security in place for those kinds of things and that they're easier to circumvent.
These people who are in FAILTECH are actually a group of people and I've been tasked to spy on these people. One of them is a high profile and I can't disclose identities right now. These group of people are somewhat like illuminati, if that's the best way to describe them, however unlike illuminati their point is not a new world order or anything of magnitude. It seems different, which is why I am tasked to figure out what they are up to.
However, LAINSY did catch up on me doing "weird things" and declare I am misbehaving. And thus I am removed from the company. We still have some people in the comany, which still help us, however I won't know how long before the company fall apart so we need to move soon.
I know Kid is of importance to the company, but I assure you that he safe with me. Much safer that walking around in the streets getting noticed. However, this time it's quite mandatory to head to the facility to check the nano-particles in him. We could possibly disable them. In fact, we have actually determined that these nano-particles are actually preventing him of his abilities. It's like a normalizer, inhibiting him of his powers. Yes, he did mention about his super speed and strength. We didn't tell him that the nano-particles are actually inhibiting his abilities. We just told him we don't know. We didn't want him to know that he is naturally strong. We don't know if FAILTECH actually made him like this, but it is highly unlikely. We don't see any traces of any genetic modification or anything to that scale. So, it seems he is in fact that strong.
Now, if we head to the facility, we can actually access the nano-particles to see what else they do and what's stored in them. We don't know if the nano-particles also inhibit his memory. While we do have some technology to check the nano-particles, these nano-particles are of newer technology and much much ahead of of anything we've seen. Which is why we can't really access it.
I think I have said enough, I hope you understand why we need to take him to the facility to get him checked. We're staying put for now, as you guys instructed. We'll go as you see fit.
His email is netspecSPLATtechnologist.com
in case someone didn't get the email. This keeps getting more and more mysterious. Maybe we need to ally ourselves with this person and see if we can help.

WTF is happening here?! Sorry, was busy with things...... really busy.... But I'm still checking the threads and all...
Ok, recap... so you guys are getting somewhere investigating who is responsible for the problems with failtech... mmhhhmmm, and 45459 has met these people who is trying to help him, but seems their decision to go to failtech is a very very bad one.
And surprise surprise! Genus and his timey-wimey stuff has just landed him back on earth for a while just to warn us about how bad 45459's decision to go to the failtech facility is... wait, so 45459 is the jhuku right? is this the confirmation?
ok, so alex is out of the question being responsible (I still think it can be him, let's not rule out the possibility) for the problems with failtech, but I still believe that fred could be it since he's not showing any concern, or at least the PMs aren't showing it...
Now, has anyone interacted with Ryan yet? I think we need to interrogate him somehow someway...

You aren't the only one posse. I'm still here, but it seems like most of the original players besides punxtr and zeighy are busy with other things. I've gotten some interesting emails lately...
From Daniel yesterday...
Quote:
I agree. The problem is the fact that there was only supposedly three fatalities. While that is sad, it was unavoidable due to fact that there was an explosion outside the research outpost. Some employees we asked described it to have sounded like a "bomb" which we could easily say it could have been. Since it wasn't any of our equipments or parts of the outpost and that it exploded just outside the outpost.
If the employees followed protocol and did not override the door of the flooded area, they shouldn't have been dead. Unfortunately, I think they were just scared or so. However, the logs from the outpost did say that LAINSY did do something. She did warn them of not overriding the doors and to follow protocol. She also lockdown the entire level to prevent any further deaths. So it seems LAINSY still does respond to protocols and emergencies, just not if we query her or send commands.
My technicians and the dev team are now working on seeing what LAINSY is actually busy doing. If could probably restore her to normal by resetting her, however, we wanted to know what she's doing. It might give a clue on who did this and why. If they need some help, such as encountering some encrypted code, I'll send them over for you guys to work on. I want these people to be much more busy with the more important tasks.
Daniel Miller
Board of Director, FAILTECH
From Alex yesterday...

Miller is still tracking down who's responsible for this, and in the meantime, we're trying to see where everything is going and if we are indeed an impending doom for FAILTECH, which is not good. I feel like what's causing this is just close by. So close that it's a snake ready to bite and I still can't see it. I feel like I'm missing something I should know.
Don't worry, I should be ok. Maybe we need to worry more about the company than what will happen to me. This company is my life, I've invested so much in it. I don't want to see it go. If I do have anything for you guys to work on, I'd definitely make you work on it. I need this problem to go away.

Sounds like you are in good hands. Though Failtech might not be up to no good, there are still some good people who worked and still work for them. You are definitely very important in some way. We have been trying to find out what is going on. All we know is that you are actually a very high priority and not even some of the top people with Failtech know about Number 45459. We aren't sure, but we suspect some underhanded stuff is going on between different parts of the company. Your release could actually have been a result of the project you were a part of being sabotaged. It is imperative that we make contact with the person who you are staying with. They are the key to understanding what is going on. Continue to keep a low profile and be wary. We are watching, so send us a coded message if you need to.

Thanks, one of them will be in contact soon. Might tell you something you could understand that I don't. They tried, but I just don't understand.
We're preparing to head our way to the FAILTECH facility. These people have been smuggling FAILTECH goods for years! They definitely have their way in and out, so I think there won't be any problem getting around the facility. I'll email you when we get there.
And last, but certainly not least, I got an email from Genus!
Quote:
Hello!
Might be a surprise for you to receive an email from me at this point in the timeline, but things has got a bit more complex than expected. I checked in at this timeline since this is where things can go wrong if left unchecked.
I am definitely NOT in Earth right now. Well in this point in this timeline. But, to send this email, I am definitely on Earth. Just checking in for a short period of time. I can't take long, since there's a very large energy requirement to sustain a paradox of me existing on the same timeline on two different locations at the same time.
Of course, the me at this point is at Afyg, doing some things needed to be done. Nothing mischivous, but definitely something for the future. However, things back here on Earth seems to be going the wrong direction. So I just had to check back and tell you something quick.
Of course, I can't just blatantly say the future, but I need to tell you that someone is looking for the Jhuku. Don't let them find him. FAILTECH is NOT safe for him. Keep him away from FAILTECH at all costs.
Go figure what's needed to be done and to whom. Good luck!
I'm ready to send an email to 45459 telling him not to go to the facility if you guys think that is best as well. Any other thoughts?
Edit: Guess I'll go ahead and send it. I really liked where this story was going, I'm sad to see that interest in it has waned so much.

Okay I hope I'm not the only one still communicating with the characters, because I think that is the only way to figure out who's behind the recent sabotages.
Alex was my initial suspect but I think I'm now convinced that destroying the company is the last thing he wants to have happen -- he worked too hard for the company to let it all fall apart. Plus he got super offended when I even suggested that possibility.
Jean Klein is too busy trying to deal with the stolen documents issue, and David Black is busy with the cave-in at his mining facility. Pedro seems to have gotten busy with this new Atlantic Research Platform disaster. Dan seems to have his hands full with LAINSY right now, too.
So besides Alex it seems the entire Board of Directors have been rendered distracted, and it's all because of these recent problems with LAINSY. So I'm trying to narrow down the suspect list even further -- Fred Don or someone on the LAINSY development team. Ryan Bruno, for instance? Or Emily Rain?
Anyway, will continue to keep digging to see if I come up with anything. I haven't yet contacted Ryan Bruno -- still waiting to hear back from Dan and Alex about their thoughts.
