At first glance, to me it looks like a close-up of a snake's body. That's just a guess of course. Can't tell what kind of snake, or maybe it could be the scale pattern of some other reptile.

Even for those of us in the divisions, it's been a bit slow. I haven't really been in touch with him for more than a week, so I don't know.
Maybe just go for a bit more patience? I'm sure he'll contact you soon.

Hello everyone!
I found this ARG 3 days ago, and emailed Tevan to apply.
Before reading this thread i thought it was an automatic-reply mail, but it looks like it isn't.
Anyway, he's not replied yet. I was wondering if the ARG is still open, or if it's normal for him to let you wait some time for the answer (he's doing this for free, afterall! He doesn't have to be there replying every single day )
But maybe since you've already gone deep into it he decided not to accept new requests anymore...
Plus, was i supposed to write something in particular in my mail?
What did you write to apply?
Thanks a lot in advance!
(Sorry for my terrible english, I'm italian :/)

I don't know if this will be any help to you, but the middle part of the center image looks like chromosome pairs.
in source it says ``Find all three. Name them.``
after translation. I have no idea what is in the middle of the picture. First thing is Humpback anglerfish. And the third is dragon head, that may refer to lunar node in astronomy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_node. I am stumped.

I too was placed in Class J. Here is what Tevan said in the email:
The Academy staff suggests that I welcome you to 'Class J.' This is
not as amusing as they think. You may disagree. You would be wrong,
but you may disagree.
I think it may be in response to the fact my name starts with a J lol

Here's my take, based on how things have been going...
First, you wouldn't really have to fake solving them. Just explain the solution in your own words and you'd get credit for it. Trust me, I did that for most of the puzzles.
Secondly, I don't know about those not in the divisions, but I do know that once a puzzle has been solved, a member of the division is asked to go to the other division and explain their puzzle and how they did it. I guess it's to help the learning curve, since we can see now that the puzzles build on each other, to an extent.
I don't think it would hurt to have stuff posted here...I mean, the assumption with that would be that we'll be informed of such if it's a problem.
the answer i had for one of the puzzles that was marked as incorrect (but was actually correct) i had answered in my own words. i guess that's seen as cheating and one of the reasons why i'm sitting out for the rest of this.

Aha, I just got the moon thing too - playing catch-up, just emailed Tevan yesterday.
Oh, and I just got the pun he sent in my email. Whoops, now I feel like a spazz. (He said they were going to put me in Class J - and I now realize that Saturn is a Class J planet. *facepalm*)
