So I asked for clarification from Genus on the beacons. It doesn't sound like the Sahara was correct. Here is what he said...
Quote:
X axis is separate from Y axis... compute them separately. Also, by lowest, I mean lowest absolute value... by which you disregard whether it's a positive or negative... however when calculating, you will make sure you calculte it as positive or negative... you only need it's absolute value when checking which is of lowest value...
And here is an email from Daniel...
Quote:
I haven't heard form you guys in a while... Are you guys in some sort of trouble again and went missing? I hope not.
And just got an email from Lainsy. Looks like Pedro is in for it!
Quote:
LAINSY SAYS: AUTOMATED ALERT
Identity Pedro Jose has just registered on tracking system. Retrieval process has been initiated.
I'll be in meetings all day, so I'll only be able to check in a couple of times. Hopefully you guys can re-figure the beacons and send someone to go get her. Daniel would probably help us if needed.

Why, what obvious place are you thinking of godder? lol
EDIT: I'm starting to really think that FAILTECH "might" be actually real.. like OOG real... lol,
that's interesting, FAILTECH's timeline according to future Dan FAILTECH had some stuff that can slow down ageing... up to 2-3 times at his time (2063) which is about 50 years form now... so if they can have drugs that can do it at .5 more in 5-10 years... it's not far-fetched that in 50 years we can have those to make us live 2-3 times longer...

The sahara? Why there? I expected it to be obvious where she was. I wonder if the instructions are wrong or something is backwards. I'm going to ask for some clarification.

Looks like somewhere in Mali...
Strange... Google Maps shows it as in the middle of the Sahara, I see nothing there but sand... Cloaking device, maybe?
EDIT: Zeighy, you beat me to it.

it's been a while... anyways, great to hear Genus is back! Or at least I mean, physically back on Earth... plus, I fee like it's hard to communicate things to him since he's time traveller... you meet a future him where everything already happened, then later you meet a past him where everything is still happening... very very hard to relay information...
At least now we see he's busy for something... again, I hope it all ends up ok. Last time I checked, the last thing he did here ended up sending us into the future (an alternate one)... lol
ok, so Emily's in the dessert? Wha? Maybe she got kidnapped or something? If not, maybe she's rouge and she's leading us into a trap? Just some thoughts... hehe
also, I wonder what bigger organization Winston is a part of? Is he part of the Galactic Union? lol

Added STS cypher to my list of codes on my app. it'll take me a little to finish programming incase its used again. but I'll have the code shortly manually.
Cypher problem, he siad the lowest. is that by geo, is that each side, or when added together?
Potential Answers:
Lowest first coordinate/etc: 18.977733 , -1.618217
Lowest by second coordinate/etc: 18.458921 , -5.200225
Both sides lowest/highest: 18.977733 , -5.200225
pretty relatively close though
Quote:
Genus Orein to me
show details 7:02 PM (2 minutes ago)
It will be the lowest value for both... closest to the orgin 0.0, 0.0
Both sides lowest/highest: 18.977733 , -5.200225
that looks like the winner then.

Email from genus...

Yes, exactly what I'm up to. Emily is in trouble, wait in fact everyone of us on Earth right now is in trouble. There's not much time to explain, Emily is currently in the hands of the Orkudusu, which is BIG trouble.
The coordinates are Sidereus Tracking System. It's different kind of system where there's actually only ONE source, but normal sensors would see five. It's usually not so obvious on first look, but Sidereus Tracking System (or shall we call it STS) can generate an unlimited number of beacon locations to conceal the real one, however, unless you know it's an STS beacon knowing what to do with it is impossible.
To find the real beacon, you need to average the first three lowest coordinates, then the answer to that needs to be averaged with the other two... Then, you'll need to add the first average to the second. Once you get the answer to that, divide it by two.. then you'll get the real coordinates of the real beacon. It's easy to find the real coordinates if you know what to do, however, creating these coordinates often takes a while. But the benefit is the ability to change all the fake beacon locations to make it look like you're moving.
What's interesting is when you have two real beacons broadcasting at the same time, it makes things much more complicated. However, in this case, there's only one, which is why we have five fake locations.
Anyways, it's weird why Pedro and 45459 is not here. I don't even quite understand what happened, but I'm quite sure that you met a future me from where ever you came from due to the way you talk to me like I know what happened and where they are.
As much as you think I should know, I don't know what happened to them.
Also, Winston is on my team. I know he should be a BOD, however, he's part of the much larger organizations that I prefer not to mention right now. We have wiped everyone on FAILTECH memories about him, of course LAINSY could probably remember him, but that wouldn't the biggest problem we have to face.
Unfortunately, time on this part of the universe is not exactly running how it should compared to the rest. Unfortunately, the DSN should be up by now, however it's not yet done on this side. We're done and waiting on the Afyg side, however, we were worried something bad has happened so they sent me back.
I'll spare you the details later. I need to go.
So, anybody have a little time for some math?

Ok, so after a busy several days I'm back. @ posse, I can't believe Lainsy called you! So, they are Emily's emergency beacons. Has anyone been able to look closely at the coordinates to see if they show something specific at those locations? I'll do some queries about Winston Yu and try to contact the Jhuku. I might try to send an email to Genus as well. Maybe he will check back in with us to make sure we made it back.
Edit: So here is what I sent Lainsy and her answer...
Quote:
Please state the location of BOD Winston Yu over the past 5 days.
What projects is Winston Yu involved in?
What do the following coordinates have in common?
51.5355, -108.0094
-17.7822, -49.1234
63.9850, -22.0652
0.0, 25.00
65.34, 97.2
Are these locations of facilities or possibly hideouts?
Beacons are coming from these locations. Do they belong to Emily Rain?
Please locate Number 45459 and Pedro Jose.
LAINSY OVERRIDE: QUERY PROCESSED
Corrupt data detected! Location information unavailable.
Corrupt data detected! Winston Yu found on database, however, information cannot be retrieved.
Requested coordinate information not available.
Possible.
Affirmative. I have gathered enough data from the beacon's signals and determined that the beacons are registered to Emily Rain.
Both identities has not showed up on the systems, yet.
And guess who is back!!!!
From Genus...

Hello! I just got back from Afyg. Don't tell anyone, especially if they are from FAILTECH that I'm back. I still need to do some imprtant things that they don't need to know. Thanks
I'm going to let him know about the beacons and tell him that we can't locate the Jhuku. I'll ask him about Winston Yu as well.

So, who was it that gave us the poem override for Lainsy anyways, Genus I'm guessing?

I got a voicemail from LAINSY last night! It was in response to a voicemail message to the number that Emily Rain was using to text me -- I had called the FAILTECH number 210-900-3245 to see if I could get any info on Emily's status. I was able to get an mp3 of the automated message. Here's a transcript:
Quote:
Hello. This is the LAINSY speaking. This message is pre-recorded and has been sent out the response to your query. You have queried for the status of Emily and I suppose you mean Emily Rain. I do not know the status of her. However, I have intercepted her emergency beacons. I suppose she's in trouble. If you are done, hang up or to repeat this message. Press any key.
