What are the chances of getting a really nice looking frequency on the Vigenere as a coincidence? (I honestly don't know, so I ask.)

Aaahhhh!!! It's that location cipher thing again! anybody remember how to do that?

Indeed it is! *noms on corrogation*
Good point about the credentials. I don't know where us experts fit in with the our clearance. Though, come to think of it, would there be a good reason the process was terminated, and is it a good enough reason?

*gobbles up a handfull of cake and grins sheepishly* Cake is good! What would happen if we restart /glink? I guess we could try it and see. The problem would be getting those credentials. *shoves another handful of cake in mouth*

I asked Ruby about how manually restarting the glink directory (with the Orkudusu files) would work:
Ruby wrote:
RESPONSE: To manually restart the process that created the glink directory, you will need to provide the credentials of the process owner, Genus Orein. Otherwise, using any credentials of higher security clearance, you can purge the process, edit the process, or restart the process.
well, if this was the cipher that emily unlocked in 24 hours of what the challenge should have been that the cipher could take a year for a human to decipher I'd certainly say it really might take us a year... hahaha,
I'd say we can feel honored if we are able to solve it.

I'll take a look at those as well. Thankies for bringing them up, zeighy! \(^_^)/
One more frequency pattern I had noticed after going back to previous Vigneres in the level 7 folders was that once both the passphrase and key were correct, the frequencies of the letters tended to be very close (almost always exact) to the frequencies of a complete solve regardless of whether the key and/or alphabet had been further altered. I'm not quite sure why, but hopefully, it applies to emily too.

Figuring the five digitals there.

if it's 5... then it could be "emily" or "orein" which I did try previously and failed at.... but those two words are teh most relevant once for the cipher that I could remember at the top of my head.....
EDIT: "genus" is also possible....

I'm glad to hear that a passphrase of length 5 seems to be on the right track. Thankies for the input guys! \(^_^)/ Also, just realized that I forgot to resize the picture >.< Sorry about that!
*mutters about how the passphrase better not be a backwards word*

That's what I got to as well. Length of 5 is right I think. I damn near dropped a valve in the grey matter with that one. Like I said when we found it, it is probably something really simple.

I was down to a length of five myself, but I still couldn't think of the passphrase. Keep trying dude, but that thing made me nuts.

EDIT: I know it's probably irrelevant at this point beyond providing background information, but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in checking what I have so far for the emily cipher. On the basis that the cipher is Vignere, I've narrowed the passphrase down to a length of 5 and have frequencies of each column, frequencies which should be close to the ENG alphabet but out of order. I then aligned the frequencies based on pattern. At this point, I'm trying to figure out where the key starts. Attached the frequency work in case someone is interested.
EDIT2: oooh...it might have been better if I remembered which side was left and which was right >.< (fixed picture)
EDIT3: Bye bye picture! \(^_^)_

I am guessing that person goes by Winston. Anyway, you want us to bring Afyg back into, ugh, time, to find the Jhuku. Okay, well, we'll need help with FAILTECH who has the right kind of technologies for this. As far as I know, no one else is willing to help us lately so maybe we need to contact that ex-employee group... which was working for Rain--who is Genus' life partner. I'm not seeing where the help is. Are you familiar with most FAILTECH employees?
Skyfall wrote:
No, you don't need to find the Jhuku. He's exactly where he. He is on Afyg, where Genus Orein left him, captive of an inter-galactic criminal that Oriru Serku is in pursuit of.
FAILTECH can be of assistance, however, Oriru Serku requests the termination of the company. On the other hand, it's just a request and I personally find it unneccessary. The main objective, currently, is to ask Genus Orein to release the planet Afyg from de-phasing so that it can be "interacted" with. As of present, it is de-phased and therefore does not exist in the same plane of existance as we do. It is the very same lockdown technology that the future humans used to keep them away from the rest of civilization. I believe Genus Orein did some minor modifications, therefore, it won't be long that the Afyg would eventually bypass the lockdown.
Of course, we can wait for that to happen. But, that can take weeks, or months, or even years.
Once de-phased, I will then provide you with the next steps on what is needed. I believe what's next no longer requires any specific faction to be of assistance.
I responded with this:
Quote:
Genus says, if you can defend Earth, he will de-phase Afyg. Until he is sure Earth is protected, he isn't doing anything.
Skyfall:

Like I said, it is of top priority for him to release the planet. Do you doubt that we had this planned ahead? It is only that Genus Orein doesn't completely follows us to our instruction and pursues things on his own often forgetting the people who had helped him and things of higher priority.
We had a chance to return Afyg to it's time, but Genus Orein just had to de-phase it. The Orkudusu couldn't have been provoked to attack Earth early if Genus Orein didn't leave Earth for Afyg just to get himself "fixed". Maybe, Earth could have been much safer if FAILTECH has not been what it is right now without Genus Orein's interception. Have you ever put the pieces of the puzzle together so you can see that you've been involved in something so vast and so big that it's bigger than yourself, and that only one man has been in control all along?
