Yes, you guys are amazing in your research skills! Kind of fun how this connects to real history and science a bit too.
About the red star stuff-looks like Gliese 581c doesn't do it in the Weyland or PP URL. And I think it is a ship light- but I'm thinking of it as a symbol. Unless there is something weird about the image itself, and the red is x marks the spot.

Me too - that's why I laughed so hard when I read that comic.
I've downloaded a Joseph Campbell book on comparative mythology, tried to convert the flag patterns on the timeline to a binary format, studied the elements involved in the transformation stages of alchemy, and a few of the things others have mentioned here.
I haven't found anything worth posting about and - considering the current state of flux in the Weyland website - I figured it was time to slow down a bit. But I am still looking.

This is genius, man, I laughed so hard at this. It really hit close to home for me as well, I'm guilty of overthinking all of this, just to have a couple of pretty pictures unlocked in the end. After all, yeah, this is just "a movie", but ARGs manage to bring the crazy, paranoid and speculative side of some of us.
What Everex said above is correct, we need to step back and analyze what we've gathered so far. Thankfully we have a wiki now (let's reiterate it: http://bigthingshavesmallbeginnings.wikispaces.com), to which we should all contribute.
I know this might not be exclusive to the ARG but the movie as a whole, but I feel like we should add some sections related to the huge investigation we've made, cross-referencing myths and stories related to this film that could help us solve this puzzle. Since I proposed it I'm going to do it, I'll create a portal called Speculation, and I'll put there everything we know, since Betty & Barney Hill's abduction (the star map) to tidbits of Sumerian mythology, as well as elements related to the Prometheus myth and its relevance in other cultures. The best part of this is that we might know already what the movie is actually about even before seeing it

I'm still looking, might as well. So-in picture #2- Prometheus outward bound I think- I see one bit of color. It is a red light that is in the shape of a star on the ship. It stands out to me, like the Morse GIF does - but because of shape and color not because it's changing.
So maybe a red star related URL name ending?
It might be the red light connected to the ship from the third picture...
But you're right, it does stand out.

Gliese 581 is a red dwarf star. I think someone may have already mentioned that Gliese 581c is one of the planets that A Message From Earth was sent to. The message will arrive in 2029.

I like this quote and yeah, I agree with that, it's just that they've been extra sloppy with this. They should've revised this site way before allowing the public to see it, they should've removed the dummy text that was still floating on some places, they should've planned the game to unlock at certain parts at a good ratio, and I'm saying this as someone who works for a web design company, you can't present a product like this to a huge audience like the one participating on this, the errors become more apparent.
Then again, most people just see the unlocked pictures and leave it at that, they probably don't know anything we've done so far...
Yeah - it seems pretty sloppy. The problem is that most of us here want to use our brains. Subject us to some challenging puzzles that lead to solutions that weave us through an immersive storyline that has some connection to the movie. And show us that you have put at least half the thought into creating your viral campaign that we are willing to invest into participating in it.

You know, honestly, I think we need to take a step back and maybe a breather. We have a good catalog of things collected and observed, but at this point I think we're starting to get lost in the minutiae, unable to see the forest from the trees and whatnot.

Dark spheres in bg video
Hello.
Still not seeing the blue flashing in the background for the spheres video but have had a look to see if the dark spheres on the left move together relative to each other. Frames 60, 244 and 335 overlaid and highlighted (cropped).
There is a little drift but the pattern looks familiar.

Folks when "Certain" companies are watching their bottom line, they just hope the word on "said product" gets out in mass media. They are not concerned with quality of experience..its about quantity.
If you read up on Bees or partook in the event.. then everything that comes after is going to be subpar. That was a story in itself.
And while "maybe' this particular Transmedia company is new to the game or working under a budget, it all comes down to the same end. "Big daddy" paid a contractor to do a job, they decided to go to a supar place and probably pay a subpar amount, hence your screenshots.
They know they can pick up the game, make things better and get people more involved, we have marketing lurkers here, but will they? is to be seen. I think we can all smell the meat and potatoes but they have not really invited us to dinner.
Cross your fingers and lurk on

Potato. I guess the errors etc explain the somewhat lacklustre attitude here now. Pity, the game had a lot going for it. The PMs will have to pull something good out of the bag and soon.

Same here - if you reload and scroll quick it seems to mess up the layout, at least on my machine. Could be that the person reporting missing segments did the same thing... just saying.
That's what I did when the LV-426 entry went missing
Several times whilst checking Page source and selection source for the Corperate Time Line i noticed entire sections of posts dupliated in the coding. when refreshing the page I have had posts appear out of sequence, hidden behind each other, flowing off the end of the page without scroll ability...fun when looking for clues apparently hidden into a site.
One thing that concerns me is for a company with millions of employee's dedicated to advancing the company and producing 3.5 patents a day not to mention the army of near perfect replicants with, and i speculate; something approaching an eidetic memory with a far superior understanding of learning and retrieval than the average human they have let a potato with learning difficulties attempt to create its internet face.
we still seem to be having problems with basic web development and browser failure.
so in the near future FTL travel may appear less complex than web development...
i think the ball has been somewhat dropped and burried in some vacuous area of the designers mind. i apologise for if this seems out of order but this is no longer enjoyable or endurable.

I don't know that correcting spellings and taking out names of real companies that they probably did not have permission to use is going to help us puzzle- wise.
Anyone thought why there is a grid in the timeline/investor background? I had idea that counting the distance that objects moved during a cycle along the grid might give us more numbers- but then what to do with them?
Has been mentioned that the small dark objects seem to make up the star pattern again? Also, they don't move relative to each other like the white spheres do.
