So Charlize Theron's character is an android, right?
I think she's supposed to be the cold, emotionless, business driven corporate stooge.
Clearly she has a hidden agenda of some sort, but I don't think the Surprise Android reveal is something they'd repeat.
What's great about David 8 is that he actually is cold and emotionless, but has been designed to synthesise emotion...and so has an uncanny valley feel to him.
Yeah, been there, done that (time and time again). Surely they can be more original.

I only say this because she certainly acts like one. Particularly cold, emotionless. Which is obviously not what David 8 is supposed to be at all, and it isn't. So perhaps an older model?
There's that scene where they're running in the corridor and she's just standing there particularly nonchalant considering the emerging situation.
But this could be all the way the scenes are cut together. It could be the red-herring because there's bound to be a twist of some description and this could be the thing to lead you in the wrong direction.
Yeah, it could just be the random bits and bobs of trailer footage that gave me the inkling that she may be a toaster oven.
In fact I'm pretty sure that's all it is.
Though there was a lot of talk about her character "not being what she seems" in the early days. That maybe got me reading into things that weren't there.
She's a bit of an enigma; you don't quite understand what her emotions truly are. In the beginning you really do think it's just corporate need. But it being a Ridley Scott film, there's a lot more there that doesn't really come to the surface until the end of the second and the beginning of the third act. She's revealed towards the end of the film and it's a really nice reveal.

ERM...on a more serious note....Have we seen anything to confirm this? I have been thinking this for a while but have no idea why...It could have been due to a rumour or fan-fiction, discussion or debate.
Does anyone know if she definitively is or isn't synthetic?

Also, on a separate note, since someone else brought up the 'Invest In Your Future' page on the Weyland site, under 'Financial Highlights' (and for that matter the only place on the whole page) the change in the Stock Share Price is highlighted in green, and it's the only thing that's green. Are they calling that out on purpose?
Any ideas?
That'll just be green for up and red for down, standard share price code.

HURRY UP!
I wish they would hurry up and launch even ONE of the 6 Project Prometheus links that are still Classified.
It seems that (with the exception of the David emotions that appeared to be timed) the Weyland site has been informational while the PP site has been the "game" site.
I just want more puzzles to keep my mind busy.
It has been ages since the last update

Carmot is also listed. Apparently it's the element thought to be used to create the Philosopher's Stone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosopher's_stone). This could be looked into as well

I know I've been asking more questions that contributing ideas lately... sorry.. but I was thinking again about the images that they wanted us to 'study' in high res, the Prometheus ship itself, the Med Pod, and the Transport.
Going back to what some of us had noticed, that if you adjust the contrast and or levels in Photoshop, etc, bits of code seem to show up... I've played around with piecing them together and haven't really discovered anything. Anyone else try beyond what was stated here way back when?
