Well, the most people seem to have voted for a wiki, so I'll eventually get around to making one, hopefully sometime today. Feel free to beat me to it.

Checking in; RL hasn't slowed much since I last posted. Thankies for notes, duke and posse! So organized and concise *_*

I like the idea of a wiki; plenty of info comes and goes, and with these notes and the contributions on Agent Portal, we have a start.

Also, possibly more teasing for anticipatory pleasure (?): http://www.cliffsidelabs.com/

Hey everybody. I still check on progress from time to time, but like everyone else, RL has been keeping me pretty busy. I'm interested to know what will happen when the counter on the join.failtech site is up. It is currently down to
Code:
43 Days, 17 Hours, 12 Minutes, 8 Seconds
I wonder what is going to happen.

I'll try to check in more often now that things will be slowing down a little bit. I just don't know where we need to go from here at this point though. Maybe something new will transpire soon.

we probably need a wiki... we did have a wikia for failtech I stumbled on one time... but it is now gone... maybe we could open a new one?

also, thanks for posting posse! nothing much has happened, or at least nothing much since we're all busy with RL things... I try my best to contribute if any puzzle is up, but so far it's all mostly interacting with the characters...

Thanks for posting, posse.

If you would all like, I can move my OneNote file to a public place on my SkyDrive (or some similar service if more of you are using something else). Or, we could do a wiki or something. What do you all think?

Long time no update all! I bet you guys are pretty entrenched into RL as I am. Summer is tough, because if I'm not busy with work then I'm on vacation with limited interwebs. But I did update duke via PM -- duke sent his notes over and I went through and updated it.

When I sent back my update of duke's notes, I started to think how useful it might be to post them up here. So here are duke's notes with my updates. They start from when LAINSY got tampered/rebooted (back in April) and have been updated to current situation. Please feel free to read and if I missed a big chunk of information, let me know!

Anyway, included in the update is some recent info that I have gotten from emails from Genus and other folks, which is near the bottom of the doc. I haven't gotten around to posting it up here though. Here's a summary:
  1. Genus wants to use the space ship as a time machine to go back and investigate and/or fix things if needed. Recall in one of the past episodes we met a future Genus who was a time-traveler. But Genus needs to know when/where to go back and what he should do. He suggested going back in the past to investigate Nox Ordo's history.

  2. Genus thinks the inter-facility teleportation system is causing the radiation spikes. It's normally stable, so it's very odd that it's acting up, but it could be vulnerable from the recent events like the system intrusion, etc.

  3. LAINSY reported that prior to the intrusion, systems logged that James Barron's ID tracking moved, but the destination is unavailable due to the system wide surge and it didn't get recorded. Recall that his last known position is the Colorado Facility.

  4. LAINSY also reported that Pablo Jose was detected in the Alberta Facility, Level 20, Zone 2, Area B moments before the surge, but LAINSY's systems only detected his presence there for a moment before instantaneously restoring to its prior location. Pablo Jose (apparently not related to Pedro Jose, although not confirmed) has interacted a lot with the suspected Nox Ordo -- which made me realize that Pablo = Nox Ordo codename "Pub". DOH! See, I didn't make that connection, I guess it was a bit of a stretch. I haven't contacted Pablo Jose yet.

  5. Matthew Johnson thinks that Nox Ordo is older than the medieval era, at least his clan has active documentation as far back as the Caroline Era (whatever that is).

Hey, I'd really like to get back involved in this.
The reason I suddenly dropped off like I did was because I just had one period of busyness after another and I just lost the time.
The problem now becomes that I've lost track of what's happened, who we're dealing with and what we're doing.

Up until the point when RL hit, I was keeping notes on important events once enough of each of them had happened that I could be sure my notes were accurate. (I learned my lesson from the craziness of Season 1 and from other games like iDGi that made it very hard to just keep everything mentally.)

Would anyone be so kind as to be willing to help me get caught up? If you are, then PM me and I'll send you an exported copy of my notes and character roster. I'm not asking for paragraphs, just bullet points, and only on the interlude. You'll see what I mean when you see what I already have.

To give an idea of where I am, my last note is from 4/13 (or that was when the OneNote page was last edited. I oughta date the notes going forward...) when LAINSY got rebooted and our queries and alarms deleted.

Thanks in advance. Sorry for being a hassle; I always hate asking things like this.

I'm scarce too, bleh!! I managed to send some emails to folks today. Genus seems to want to help:

Hello!

It has been a while! I know it took me long, but me and my team has just recent completed the upgrades for the DSN and has completed the system updates on our end. Data isn't pushing to the Earth-based LAINSY servers, however... I've contacted Daniel and heard about what's happening down there. I would be happy to help out, however, Daniel doesn't know much of the story since he says Inno's been missing for a while and he showed up acting odd and doesn't seem to know anything.

Any one of you guys want to brief me with what's happening? Also, this Oriru Serku guy has also contacted me for assistance. However, he recommends contacting you guys for information.

I won't be able to head down there since there's been a memo on FAILTECH from the Intelligence Department that I should not let my team set foot on Earth, for now. There's been hightened alerts about REAL radiation spikes around the northern US border. They would want my team safe, out of harms way while they investigate the situation. I heard government involvement has also been initiated to investigate the situation.

I've heard this might be some FAILTECH project gone haywire, but that's still to be proven.

I'll be at the EGS for the time being, please do update me on what's happening.

I sent him an update, though I hope to have gotten through to him that we are pretty helpless. Can't figure out Nox Ordo, don't know what to do about the rifter, don't know how Skyfall can help us, don't know what FAILTECH should be doing.

I feel like all I'm doing is relaying information between the different parties, because whatever questions I ask don't seem to be the right ones. If we're supposed to be stopping Nox Ordo from taking over FAILTECH, how are we expected to do this if we have no idea what they're doing and they won't tell us anything about it? Should I just have LAINSY put the Nox Ordo suspects into frozen storage?

urgh...sorry about not getting back to you all earlier. RL kicked in (and is still kicking pretty fiercely), so I will be scarce for time being.

I had been thinking the same thing, medic, and let Skyfall know about the Rifter's complatints. Skyfall's comments:
Quote:
I see... I guess the open stream we use for communication is preventing him from leaving? I am not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Does he sound mad or does he seem fine? We can always close the stream, temporarily, but I can't assure that it is the same stream that prevents him from jumping out. Well, he can jump out, but he will be taken along with the stream and end up where ever the stream leads him. If it is our stream, he will end up in the year 4252, well that's the year from your perspective. Do know what point of time and space is he from? Or if he is from this time stream?

I doubt I'll be able to get back to the Rifter or anyone in a timely matter anytime soon, though. In case someone else wanted to reach them:
Skyfall: skyfallSPLATinsurer.com
Rifter (Inno's email): inno.ellisSPLATfailtechnologies.com

Again, I'm really sorry guys =(

Sorry for the AWOL, got pulled away by school. Sad

Talked to Billy Chan about the rifter and Nox Odro, will ask about the incident with LAINSY...

Quote:
Yes, might.. Depends if you can give me more information, maybe I could see if it is something I should be concerned about. Also, I cannot tell you much about Nox Ordo, but what I can tell you is that, we not trouble makers. Me might make a mess here and there, but our intentions remain as one.

I am not aware of this rifter you talk of. It might not be related to me.

Hello Billy,

Matthew Johnson sent me and the rest of my team. I have something I'd like to ask you; do you know of the presence of a Rifter at this point in time?

Also, Lystella, maybe the time stream's what the Oriru Serku and Skyfall are using to connect to our present time?

Skyfall has a theory about what's going on:
Quote:
I think I have a good theory. It is still to be proven, and it doesn't explain everything, yet.

I think the arrival of the rifter caused the earthquake. You see, depending on how the rift opens it can either be so big that it can swallow a planet, or even a star, or it can be small enough that you can't even see it. I suppose the rift that opened was big enough to cause an earthquake and that it opened directly within the facility. Now, the rifter then pops out of it and the rift closes. OF course, the closure is temporary and it can re-opnned by the rifter to jump back. However, if he doesn't jump back within a set period of time, the rift will completely close and make him stay on this time and space until he finds another open rift in another location or until he dies. Now, the time stream tunnel he might be talking about is probably OUR time stream tunnel we use to establish communications and to send me back in time. Think of it as a dedicated tunnel from your house to somewhere else.

While I don't know why the rifter came here in the first place, since they can't simply be pushed out of a rift unless they do so themselves, I am quite sure the rift won't close off untill we end the time stream tunnel. Rifters can be a pain to deal with, most of them cause havoc when they appear. I am quite surprised this one hasn't done anything, yet. And did you say he came from the void? Or rather, HIS void? Interesting.

Anyhow, the keystone of the Nox Ordo, according to our archives, is their piece of technology that has been passed on from generation to generation which allows them to safely keep their own archives. It is known that the leading family of the Nox Ordo is the carrier of the keystone, and that it is their sole duty to protect and keep the keystone from others. I'm not quite sure if a keystone can do anything of the mishaps that happened, but maybe the keystone can contain information that can help make it happen.

Well LAINSY's back up and is able to tell us sort of what happened:
Quote:
LAINSY: System intrusion detected on 10/05/2012 08:43:22 GMT and it was an external connection linking to an internal subsystem. I managed to block the link, however, the internal subsystem had disabled a couple of systems to allow the connection. Upon completion of the link, at 10/05/2012 08:45:07 GMT several systems went offline and caused an ERROR ZERO. Systems remained either offline, completely dead, or isolated until a system wide hardware replacement was performed. The system successfully booted up on 30/05/2012 18:36:27 GMT and a system diagnostic is currently being performed to inspect all systems and to perform stress testing.

System logs do not indicate any recorded incident of earthquakes. It is unknown if the system failure was caused by the earthquake or if the cause of both the earthquake and system failure. There are also additional logs that I may be able to access to assist in your investigation. Do you have any other particular queries?

FAILTECH seems to always have some red herrings along the way here and there one way or another... That's what I have observed, which made me shy away from communicating with the characters....

so far, rifter seems unrelated, might just be a red herring.... also not sure why the Oriru Serku is involved... I can't really tell right now who to talk to so that we can figure this out. I've been lurking, and the progress on this is moving slow... I guess that's the point, if you've read their recent OOG post...

Also, interestingly, they've posted some details regarding LAINSY's boot on the Sidelines site....

LAINSY's team has made progress:
Ryan Bruno (ryan.brunoSPLATfailtechnologies.com) wrote:
After the arduous effort of manufacturing and replacing damaged LAINSY boards and components, we finally got her back up. We're still not sure if we lost anything, but she's synchronizing herself and performing diagnostics. If it goes exactly how we think it will go, she will be exactly the same before she went offline. And yes, things seem to be in working order again. What I find suspicious is how the boards got damaged. It seems like a HUGE energy burst went through the entire network and fried several of her primary components... It can't be an EMP as it could have fried other things within the blast radius. The incident is isolated with LAINSY only. We are looking into it.

Also, one facility declared an evac procedure for safety precautions. The Alberta facility was shutdown by a massive earthquake damaging several sections of the facility. And again, the incident is isolated to roughly 1 km radius of the facility. No nearby towns or cities felt the earthquake. Funny, and very suspicious. Any ideas?
