Drop is secured. Helpful librarian from Blue Hill library took it. It was CD taped under the phune booth.
She wasnt able to send it on email but she left it in library so their sysadmin will upload it on Monday.

The files on the disc are called data.bin, BCwipe3.exe and truecrypt 5.1a.exe.

My issue is that if it is real then it's something I shouldn't be involved in, due to the nature of a family members career. Meanwhile if it is a confirmed ARG then I could safely participate.

Some ARGs are meant to look real. There were few of this kind recently (check UMBRA and ZIGOCHEN), that I was following. If they are done properly there is no way to prove that that events are not real and are only part of a game.
So there is no proof that it is ARG. Also I dont want to convince anyone who believes OTP22 is all true that it is only a game. Let players decide for them own. For figuring out clues and following story it isnt really important what you believe. Some thinks that we are intercepting real intelligence and that ships we are following are real, some thing it is all made up. Believing that it is real deal makes experience much more intense I suppose.
People who are trying to dox GameMasters or to convince other that this is real shit are both wrong. This is not nature of the game, people like this are at every ARG. I also dont see any point at calling FBI and telling them about it. Some people are just to paranoiac i guess.
Best proof that this is ARG that I can provide you is fact that you are reading this post on UNfiction (alternate reality gaming) forum.


Recent events!

Both numbers (303) 309 0004 and (202)999 3335 are down.

Some time they were transmitting deep bass voice, currently they are transmitting "the number you have reached, 646-0004, is not in service. if you feel you have reached this recording in error, please check the number and dial again. thank you."

We found some anomalies on calls at different times

at this tae we recognized sentence "There's an alarm in the Vaughnsville DCO"

Areal number for Vaughsville is (419)

So new number we are calling is (419) 646 0004

As-of 22:00 US/Pacific the 419 number is producing the *SAME* tones (including the same noise bursts) previously heard on the 202 number.

Tentative conclusions:

the 419 and 202 numbers are controlled by the same party
the "out of service" message is a recording being played back


EDIT:
Analysis of the call window recording yielded a likely hidden message. The general consensus is that the message in the auto dialer message was "There's an alarm in the Vaughnsville DCO", corresponding to the Vaughnsville area number (419) 646-0004 (which is also identified in the previous calls by its SS5 tone sequence). When this number is dialed, the same message as during the (202) 999-3335 call window is played.

The (419) 646 NPA-NXX is operated by Vaughnsville Communications which appears to be using a Siemens DCO switch [1].

Later in the day, both the (303) 309-0004 and (202) 999-3335 numbers became active and accepting Agent codes once again.

At 05:00 GMT old phonenumber stopped to transmit old message (condition orange.. enter agent code and #) and started to transmit strange deep bass sound.

Like an hour later we discovered that that sound is hiding new number. It is PSK31 encoded.

So the first theory that came out was that PuppetMasters were monitoring IRC, got scared of being doxed and changed the number.

I am not sure what are new coordinates of new ships since we are lacking people who are able to transcribe, decode and post fres coordinates from calls. We have just to much calls now to transcribe.
We are hoping that we will be able to automate transcription process to speed things up.
