That's it.
When the end came I was like, "That looks kinda familiar" and then I found out it was originally supposed to be a prequel.

Then this must be Prometheus.

I'll bet you start by reading the last page of mystery novels, too, JumboTron.

Glad you picked-up on the hint. There's someone else who has a connection to them as well, though.

Picking up on this, I'll throw out the wild guess of Clash of the Titans (2010).

If nobody posts one prior to my getting home, tonight, I'll throw one up, then.
So, Post 'em if ya got 'em.
EDIT: Since nobody's jumped in... Let's tempt the Fates with a little Déjà vu.

I actually like to start with obscure shots to encourage wild guessing. In this case, you would have been right. It's "The Grey".
This movie seems to polarize people a lot. For me it really worked. I found it atmospheric and tense. I guess I was just in the right mood.
You're up, Rogi.

I was going to throw it out as a wild guess for the first pic... Now, I'm fairly sure it's the somewhat disappointing, "The Grey".

That's a nicely remastered film print then. The first image looks so clean, I thought it was the raincoat scene from American Psycho.

You got it GuyIncognito, it was The Conversation. As for my copy, it's just a DVD using VLC to make screengrabs. Over to you.

Aw, snap! It's The Conversation, isn't it? I think I didn't recognize it because the picture quality is so clear. Are those screengrabs from a Blu-Ray? I've never seen it look as good as that.
