My first thought, just looking at the image, is Jarhead

I knew it....well...not really. But I did see that one. Took me years to dare play D&D after seeing that.
Here is a new one.

Nope, but upon further research it seems that my movie submission is invalid. Being that I only saw it on DVD, I didn't realize that back in 1982 it was a made-for-TV movie. I don't have a backup, so if someone else wants to post something, go for it.
Nope, no Howard Hesseman in this one, although it does feature a well known actor when he was very young. Sorry for the bad quality of the picture, here's another one.
EDIT: Not Fantasmagoria

300. Excellent movie, by the way. One of the best re-tellings of the battle of Thermopylae that I've ever seen.
Now for a still from a movie that I can't believe hasn't been used yet

Please don't quit...we need you..apparently.
Astounding piece of detective work. Indeed you must be right...and I will take you up on your offer to 'let me rescue you'.
I picked this pic mainly because is looks so stunning. (no hint intended)

Oh hey, it is "that guy." No idea who the main actor is.
I love it when the poster thinks the movie is obvious and they have given it away and I still have no clue.
How about "Billy Jack" "The Legend of Billy Jack"? "Billy Jack Goes to Washington" ?
First Edit: hehe - a summary of Billy Jack plot -"Ex-Green Beret karate expert saves wild horses from being slaughtered for dog food and helps protect a desert "freedom school" for runaway."
I don't know what kind of car that is so the database won't help me - I need a database that allows you to search for cars by color -because with few exceptions (go Audi - Art of the Heist) that is all I can tell. What can I say, I haven't owned a car in decades.
Can we narrow this down to decades? I'm guessing 70's? Now to search for movies whose music made it into the top 40.
Second Edit :OMG: the theme song for Billy Jack was "one tin soldier" which actually was a popular song. If this turns out to be a correct guess, this will top even my best guess so far which was 12 monkeys based solely on a quote from a movie.
I know it isn't that disco movie with John Travolta. Were there any other 70s movies?
If I am right, I nominate Puppy to post a still in my place, because it will take me a week to recover just from this totally wild and sarcastic guess being correct.
If I am wrong, hey what's new?
Edit final: ok. I'm in shock. I think this must be correct. I just read rogi's post again. I thought he had a typo when he said "original caste" and that he meant "original cast"- you know, like a musical where the cast recorded the song.
But no! It turns out there was a group called Original Caste and they sang "One Tin Soldier"
"In 1969, this was a hit for a short-lived Canadian band called Original Caste as simply "One Tin Soldier." Original Caste's version reached US #34 and went to #1 in Canada."
I may retire from the movie guessing game after this, because I can't see it getting any better. I guessed this move solely on rogi's clues about it being a "cult" movie and "examining prejudices." This was the first 70's movie that popped into my head. But I was joking!

Nope:
Here's the promised car picture (Not the lead character's vehicle, just a minor vehicle owned by the guy on the ground).
Speaking of the lead, that's him in the foreground.
That ought to pretty much give it away.

Just from the hints: guitar, car and Hessman (like he is driving something),
Honky Tonk Freeway?

Sadly, I can't narrow it down any more than that.

Another way is to check whatever media player you're using for an option to use software video instead of hardware video overlay. If it's software, a regular screencap should work. If it's hardware, then that'll typically capture the 'bluescreen', unless the media player has a built in capture function that works with hardware (as I believe the players linked above do)
