There is a Lovecraft-type movie scheduled to be released in 2007 - "In Search of Lovecraft. The IMDB says "March 2007" but as of now, it's still listed in post-production.
EDIT: PSA to all - don't visit www . insearchoflovecraft . com - it's virus-ridden!!
Do the white left/top borders on this image argue that this pix is the top left corner of the overall picture?

3. We (uF) really aren't the target - we're relatively too small a group for a marketing campaign. We are important to help guide new folks in puzzle solving and setting up discussion. And generating BUZZ. We provide a great resource for people who use Google/ASK.com to find out more about some strange craigslist (or however else GMD seeds the trail to bring the target audience into this 'world' of BSU.
Meta -- I agree. That's why a package went to the Lovecraft LARP group as well (although what the product is I cant tell -- Lovecraft based movie? -- not too many other 'new' Lovecraft products to be had...)
We seen lots of non-specific materials to spec over, teasing that there is a direction to be taken with them, but vague enough to keep us mulling over and milling about smartly while the buzz base is built.
They're certainly doing a good job of the above. My (somewhat jaundiced) interest is definitely peaked. Can't wait to get rolling!

I wonder if I were to happen to mention that I'm from Philly if a Craigslist ad will appear in the philly one...
In the watercolor piece you got, would you say there's a signature ("DC", or "DC2") in the bottom-right, or is that just a fold/wrinkle/hair/scanner-glitch?

[SPEC]I'm not sure if ALL craigslist locations are going to be packages (or at least uF people).
I think about it this way: 1. Who is producing this ARG? 2. What is the motivation? 3. What is their target audience?
1. Professional company in business to support viral marketing via ARG.
2. Get nonARGers to follow the story and eventually be exposed to the client's product.
3. We (uF) really aren't the target - we're relatively too small a group for a marketing campaign. We are important to help guide new folks in puzzle solving and setting up discussion. How many do we have now? 26? Isn't that an alphabet?
Combine all the messages in one file and look for continuity, a story, a message, a code?
As for packages. Probably addresses/names culled from those who participated in previous GMD productions or target audience folks found on the internet. [/SPEC]
I've already warned konashark that *we* will be playing along.

just thought i'd give my thoughts in hopes of seeing if i know whats going on. Any responses would be appreciated.
1. I don't know what the time frame is for these things, but it seems we are in the early stages, i.e. no more info till all the packages arrive and lotsa info for the newbies (me)
Agreed. Once we have more packages we'll have more to work with.

2. the current craigslist posts are just a teaser, but may be a source of future info or just may be a method of collecting email addresses if people respond.
Could be, or they could be to tell us where to expect packages, or they could have a code imbedded in them, or something none of us have thought of yet.

3. the 2600 mag. pages seem to be aimed at newbies, a intro the sort of thought process that is needed.
Hmm, interesting. Can you expand on that? I'm not sure I follow.

Also: my watercolour has an imprint in the lower left, only readable from the front (the note is on the back) thus backwards: "QUARELLE ARCHES" (pics momentarily)
I think that imprint might be "Lana Aquarelle Arches", which is a type of watercolor paper.
Hey PMs! You have at least two (and one ex) South-Africans playing this game. And a Brit. I feel that it would only be fair to send out some care packages.
What, do only Americans die in creepy flame-filled cities now? :p
ex- South African, current Canadian, living in Lyon, France for a bit. Do I get a package for each country?

A new watercolor compilation. Rowan's image (on the right) doesn't really fit yet. Thebuce's is definitely bottom-left, and the two on top clearly go on top, given their frayed edge on that side.
Given the number of postings we have right now (26), I'd say this is either one large 4x7 (28)-tile painting, or possibly two 3x5 (15)-tile paintings. More knowledge about the sheet of paper used would help.
Can someone give measurements of one piece?
