Let me say this first: you guys have more knowledge in your little pinkies about reading source and code than I'll have in my entire life. I'm really impressed with everyone's knowledge level here. I am just a lowly newbie who doesn't even really know how to post a message but thought I'd try something obvious that no one seems to have done. If its been checked out then sorry for the duplication...

http://www.c2c2.com

is all in some kind of arabic language...looks like a marketing site of some sort.

http://www.nevarraven.com

appears to be under construction and some anthro artist's site. What shows up on my firefox tab is nevarraven.com : A.F.K.

Probably nothing but thought I'd throw it in...

Has Eric been replaced by one of the AAs? Or.. by one of us? *gulp*

HighFive and 6op1libra.com have both gone down for me. Changes, soon, maybe?

Things getting dangerous?

So it looks like one half of this ARG has fallen - maybe as a warning? It'll be interesting to see if we get any more AA updates.

Also, Eric sent me this. Stay safe out there...

Also - do yourself a favor. If you're ever in a parking garage late at
night and you see something weird - just put your head down and keep
walking. All I know is that they are looking for someone. Why they are
doing it this way, with all their resources, is beyond me. I'm not
sure anyone wants to get involved and change their life forever - it
wouldn't be my choice. I know they are watching everyone involved.
Good luck. I hope they choose someone else to fill this role soon...

connected, not connected, connected?

the weirdness of this all makes my head hurt Shocked

I supposed I should get a little more friendly with the NN thread? I'll probably read 3/4ths of it and then see something saying they have nothing to do with each other haha.

DelVillan.
Been doing some more off-color research that may or may not help in the future, but it can't hurt. Here's what I've turned up.
------
About Eric:
Eric [David?] Hachlinski is definitely a real person. He seems to have lived around the Detroit area/ Michigan in general for a while. He was born in 1974, probably sometime in June.

There is a Carol Hachlinski, which seems to be his mother, aged 64, and I think a younger sister named Erin. While I have their address and number, I won't post it here because it's unneeded. His mother's, however, is listed as one of his residences.

There's a handful of possible addresses that this search turned up. The phone and addresses aren't needed; we've already been in contact with Eric. It's just a verification that he lives in Michigan, relatively near Detroit, which seems to be an important location.
------
The counter in the source:
We've noted that there is an awkward counter which possibly adds eleven. It does, in fact. 6op1libra.com, highfivegame.com, and midnightcreative.com (cached version) all share this. It uses "statsmachine" which creates a variable and keeps track of the count internally, and when the person using that in their page enters "mycount" into the HTML, it retrieves that data for them.

However, it does this for each hit. Which means each of our hits counts as a lot more to the site.

Here's why and how:
mycount = mycount + 11;
document.write(mycount)
The page gets the number from "src="http://www.statsmachine.com/cgi-bin/counter.cgi?694|69481" and then basically says, "Okay, add eleven to yourself to display on my page. Then, take that number and overwrite it to the statsmachine variable." This means that when "mycount" is grabbed again on the next reload, it has the "false" number written as the "real" number, sort of. Here's a quick illustration.

First visit:
Real hits: 1
Mycount now = 1
[Source code tells it to add 11]
Shown hits on the page: 12
[Cource code tells it to rewrite what was previously "1" as "1+11," or "12"]
Mycount now = 12.
Second visit:
Mycount now =12
[Source code tells it to add 11]
Shown hits on the page: 23
[Cource code tells it to rewrite what was previously "12" as "12+11," or "23"]
Mycount now = 23.

This continues for really high counts.
-------
Similarly, it seems the code for the cached midnightcreative.com was used to make the other two sites, but wasn't edited well. Which explains why when you look at the source, there's a bunch of excess brackets and tags.
-------
I called the First Street Deck. Fliers are apparently pretty common there. Most of them are for events that are downtown, and he hasn't heard of the 6op 1 Libra or anything like it.

Eric Hachlinski e-mailed me:
Quote:
Hello Friend.

AA1, AA2 and AA3 have been taken care of. I am worried they let too
much information out they shouldn't have stolen. Everything I have is
cryptic - I just received an e-mail that they have recovered the final
information the AA's had taken from them.

Then I found this message on my car windshield at lunch:
----------------------------------------------
Reedus discovered the keys that allowed us to almost be revealed.

Tipsila has uncovered the coded message which could compromise us if
ever unlocked.

Bellymonster has sent the form. Too late though.

They should be watched - and given more knowledge.
----------------------------------------------

WTF? I hope these people didn't have access to the files prior to the
"disappearance" of the agents. But it's fair to say now they got
involved in a game they couldn't possibly comprehend... and they paid
for it... and they will ever be heard from again. They almost figured
out the code - but were sloppy. Oh well. Don't get sloppy.

Hmm, phew. After having a chat with Eric, I confirmed the "Nick" as the Nick from www.heavenlymedia.co.uk (a legitimate company, I'm pretty sure - I have their business card in my wallet... o_O ) and who went to Informatics and worked at Magpie, and have chatted to him a little. He doesn't seem to know what it's all about, although I get the impression that may not be the complete story.

Still, he's suggested I get in touch with another eg-Magipe-employee - although declined to give any particular reason. Curiouser and curiouser. I've mailed a mutual friend of theirs in order to get contact details, so will hopefully hear back soon on that.

At the moment, chatting seems to be the most useful thing I can do Smile The 2 sites for this, and the claim form stuff for NN have got me utterly lost.

[eta] just had a quick chat with Eric:

hello

Scribe 15:10
hi there. nice weekend?

Eric Hachlinski 15:11
It was.... busy.

Scribe 15:11
did you catch your flight?

Eric Hachlinski 15:11
No - I got to gate 3 and there was an incident... it has happened before.

Scribe 15:12
oh... what happened?

Eric Hachlinski 15:14
They had some security issues which happens at gate three now and then. So I was told to leave.

Scribe 15:14
How unusual. Was it personal? Or a generic problem with gate 3?

Ailis is Morgan Webb's middle name.

How she comes into all of this is anyone's guess. I'm getting a little anxious about speculating here though, as it seems some of the stuff we dig up then gets used over at 6op1libra or highfivegame, confusing things more Wink

This is fun.. click a constellation name, then click the Interactive star chart (Java applet) link.

I'd kill for an online tool that lets you load a graphic of a constellation and have it find out which one it is. Thenew homepage graphic looks more like sagitarius than libra, to me, but I am really bad at seeing them. Anyone else see a better match?

just another form of Alice or something more?

Ailis is the Irish form of ALICE, which is the short form of the Old French Adelais, itself a short form of Adalheidis (ADELAIDE).

Quote:
From the Germanic name Adalheidis which was composed of the elements adal "noble" and heid "kind, sort, type". This was the name of the wife of Otto the Great, and also the wife of King William IV of Britain. A city in Australia bears this name.

err...I've been more focused on the nomennescio side of things, but "sevenynine" seems to have some connection to eric mentioning the misspelling of "seventynine". if you combine that also with the "y = spanish" comment, you get "seven y nine" or "seven and nine".
