Shocked

I'm sure the guys at Ft. Meade will be shocked to hear that, as well.

I think you mean Nichiren Shoshu Academy which is a Buddhist organization headquartered in the World Culture Center in Santa Monica.

Don't have time to look at it, ATM, but those look like they could be converted into ASCII, since 32 is a space and 65 = "A".
I'll check it later if nobody gets to it, first.

We already know this, but it says:

Code:
78/65/83  NAS
32/65/84   AT
82/79/87  ROW
32/83/75   SK
32/83/65   SA
67/32/65  C A
69/68/79  EDO
69/82/66  ERB
69/75/65  EKA
70/32/82  F R
32/82/79   RO
65/83/78  ASN

Intriguing find, JawZ. That Island Times site looks pretty legit, so I guess it just got linked to. archive.org shows that it's been in that current form since some time in 2003.

i-Newswire seems to be a free PR service, but the 'Marian Bakern' name is definitely weird. Can't see any obvious related anagrams of it at this list.

has anyone spoken to or seen eric on-line recently? Alas, I've been busy elsewhere so not had much of a chance.

And I'm still intrigued that the number 9 doesn't seem to crop up.

(on a side note.. meteors? aliens? let's hope the launch wasn't anything to do with this ;)

I was on some site the otherday but i cant seem to track down where it was...it had the article that was featured earlier on.

and below it the date and a name and a link to a website, of where it came from im assuming.

the name was

" Marian Bakern "
and the website was
http://www.islandtimes.com/

edit:
found what im blabbering on bout
http://i-newswire.com/pr105124.html

googled the "name" nothing at all

bakern seems wierd? maybe they plussed the N? possibly on both?
Maria Baker - noe thats tad to common

as for the website it goes to. thats not a news site, but a web archive search showed it to once be a news site in its early days

the closest thing i could get to a "launch initiating" to that countdown date was the sts 118 which launched on the 8th of this month...

Dunno why...but i decided to hover round, with raven and nevar meaning snow in mind, also was looking at things relating to the british virgin islands

i stumbled across the number 118
Quote:
"Postal codes are unique combinations of letters and numbers that are used to clearly identify the destination of mail. They are different from zip codes, which are designated for destinations in the United States only.

When the BVI adopts its postal codes, it will be the 118th country in the world to have postal codes."

coincidence?

okay, ive never really been involved with an ARG before. (mason directed me here)

my knowledge with codeing and decoding things is poor, as is most computer related things.

ive read from the begining to here.

one thing i recall from an earlier post is something mentioning fresh/clear minds...well im a fresh mind? but everything being discussed here seems way over my head, im intreasted though.

when reading earlier I hadnt checked the dates of posts or number of pages here. but i randomly searched for things. but then again im sure you searched down the route too see if theres any connections anywhere

118
http://www.virtuescience.com/118.html

probably nothing.

wiki 118 stuff
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/118

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/118_%28number%29

"There is no answer to the equation φ(x) = 118, making 118 a nontotient."

correct me if im wrong but the squiggly weird thing i swear was in bold on something i read within this thread, i did check too see, but when looking back i couldnt find it (but i didnt click any of the links)

year relating stuff
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/118_BC
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/118

also mentions of snow and intelligent birds. are there any snow based birds from that family.

also, are there any other "groups" doing this ARG, what are there takes on things. or are there people that do ARGs indepentantly and dont log stuff online.

im totally new to all this arg stuff.

Quick aside: X-3 has come up before, although not necessarily referring to the same thing. Nomen Nescio's Flickr account (link) contained 3 screenshots for the X3: Reunion game, if you recall.

Wikipedia has a description of the storyline for the game (link), which contains "a cult consisting of priests trying to find the truths of the origin of the Argon race, Earth, and other mysteries", intriguingly.

It's every year. Each year the Earth moves through the Perseid cloud. Most of the meteors are seen during the week between August 8 and 14 with a peak on August 12. This is a strong meteor shower and during the peak, one or two meteors a minute can be expected.

The source of the shower is the comet Swift-Tuttle. They are called the Perseids because the radiant (where they appear to be originating), is in the constellation Perseus.

This year, the moon is new on the 12th, so dark skies and good viewing conditions! Look toward the northeast starting around 9 pm (your local time) on the 12th. As the constellation rises in the sky, the rate of the meteors will increase, peaking before dawn.

Additionally, there is a full lunar eclipse on the 28th of August beginning at 07:53 UT.
