I agree with Sylvia. Either Calvin wrote, at least, the MSG3 envelope, or David Valley did. Jade's already said they know each other.
R, the events look to be listed day/month/year since there are no 17th or 22nd months. So the Round Lake Park event is a post from Dec. 17 about an event on Jan. 8.
devislade, friskviper, feniancaltrop, kilndirk, and whiskeyskald look like code names for either contacts, subjects or "agents."
poc= point of contact?
ooc=out of communication? out of commission?
tf=task force?
oinv=invoice?

The 1st location on the "about" page is near Round Lake Park in St. Petersburg.
That's the summoning event that occurred on January 8th.
2nd location on the about page is around where the Kingsway tunnel exits in London.(An initiation coming on February 6th)
The location on the "privacy policy" page is at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey.(Exchange of object on 12/17/07)

I dunno, Mort... do a Ctrl-A on the "about" and "privacy policy" pages and some weird stuff shows up.
And oh yeah, I'm back *waves*
Work got pretty much insane around the holidays and hasn't let up nearly as much as I'd like, but I'm finally recovered enough to jump back in. Caught up on things last night, and whoa, did I pick a good time to check back in or what?
GREAT WORK to everybody, especially on MSG01 LIEK WOAH, and 0702. Seriously, those were both awesome.
About the only thing I have to contribute right now is that when I read the solve to MSG01, specifically the last line ("The ring was not a ring"), my first thought was of our iron rod bent at a 60 degree angle. But I'm likely forgetting something that would make that implausible.

In IRC we're debating what to do about the Yahoo! email address(es).
Sylvia noticed Ethan updated the blog. Guess they got sick of us looking at the wrong free web host. (Seriously, weebly?)

…of scenery is good for my brain.
Posting this here real quick since my RSA token is in the car and I can't VPN to the Foundation without it. But I didn't want to forget so…
Had a couple minutes here at the Kava House, so I decided to take a look at the spearmint stuff. With the HTTP and COM taken out of the string Frank found that leaves: ABEEWELILYYWNROT. I did a quick google search on "free websites" and the fifth one down is a service called WEEBLY. That one jumped right out (especially since a lot of the other ones had FREE in the title, and there is no F in our string).
So that leaves AEI hell, there's my contact, gotta go. Later.
Looks like Casa was right about HTTP and COM. And if that doesn't clear up anything then I may have to resign with Ethan to become a professional gambler.

Nothing up there, really.
I bow to your superior skills, petunia.

Looks like Jade or someone went to the location and spotted the ritual. Got some video available at blip. (Protip: keep your volume low while watching.)
Whoever it was also found a matchbook from a St. Pete cab company with an email address scrawled in it: petra_c81SPLATyahoo.com ?
And we've been told to keep this to ourselves.
I expected something yesterday, but I didn't expect that. Not sure what to make of the video other than that the flash out reminded me of the conversation between Autumn Country Calvin and whoever he's talking to at the beginning of the interrogation scene with Aubrey Beech.
Maybe whoever made the video thinks Ethan was involved. That seems like the only reason to not tell him.

Sylvia
want to point out that I'm pretty sure the email address on the Bats Taxi match book is petra_c81SPLATyahoo.com. When I tried to enter the two into my YIM this was the only one it would accept.
Also, I wonder if the phone number is important. I know it's suppose to be for the Bats Taxi, but it seems the PMs made it somewhat obvious in those pics.
Never mind, I just looked it up. It's a legit phone number for Bats Taxi.

They gave out SSNs?? That's not good. Do we have an IRC chat room?
Mort I am saying this in all kindness but it isn't necassary for you to answer every post in this thread

Sylvia that's a great capture.

Yeah, Sylvia, Ethan did want to be there tonight. He was severely disappointed when Christopher ordered him not to go and ordered him not to ask Jade. So not making him jealous is another good reason. He was kinda testy with me during the 1/4 chat after he'd received Christopher's ultimatum.
Hmm...now that I think about it, as long as we don't try to look up the license plate on our own, and just submit it to the PMs for follow-up, we should be cool. They haven't shied away from giving potentially valid SSNs in other games.

Did I read things wrong, I thought Ethan wanted to be there tonight? Maybe, they don't want to hurt his feelings and then maybe it was Ethan and he just doesn't want WCF to find out.
Just flowing with the confusion.
Here is the best image I could get of the license plate:

Not to defend our unknown correspondent's perspective, but two possibilities occur to me:
Ethan's a natural skeptic. His opinion will be valuable. But without having any empirically supported conclusions, he might not be helpful. He either may not be able to handle something this apparently weird. Or he may react negatively and close the Open Cases project. Plus, guaranteed he reports it to Christopher and the Board. And even if Ethan doesn't want to shut us down, they may. If Calvin is the one who hooked us up with this, that may not be a problem. But still, he's a tech guy, and might not be a good replacement for Ethan's abilities to research the WF archives.
Also: to prevent Ethan from haring down to FL and putting himself in danger.
So I think there are some reasons to wait on telling Ethan until we know more about the event, independent of what our anonymous friend wants.
I sent Ethan the list of research topics. That should keep him busy.

Ethan,
When you find time, here's a laundry list of things you might check for:
* Freemason rituals
* Masonic passphrases or words of power
* Left-hand path
* Demons/djinn; generally, and summoning in particular
* Rosicrucians (both John Dee and the author of the Amphitheatrum had ties to them)
* Hermeticism (ditto)
* Hermetic Seal of Light
* Solomon's Seal
* Solomon's Triangle/Triangle of Art
* *Key of Solomon; a/k/a Clavis Salomonis
* *Lesser Key of Solomon; a/k/a Clavicula Salomonis; a/k/a Lemegeton
* Philosopher's Stone; a/k/a Panacaea
* maybe ask Shannon if there are copies in the Scarpelli Library?
If you turn up too many hits, we recommend limiting the geographic parameters. St. Pete, NY, and London, for starters.
