No immediate access to a decent image editor, but from what I can see there are references to Steve and Old MacDonald in the reversed text.
Here's the best I could do with some online tools:

Heh.
In a previous life, I used to repair Tactical Satellite (TACSAT) communications equipment.
ETA: FWIW: "LEO" means "Low Earth Orbit" (Not that it has any connection with our earlier maths.)

FINALLY!!! Awesome solves you guys.
Okay, so wow. Uhh. All I can say is wtf.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
WTF Steve is dead?? And he's been such for a year, not a day. It's 12/19/2006. And let's figure all this out: 3 1 11 2 36 14 3 -1 2 38 23 49 -15 -1
EDIT:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Okay, so the picture from Steve's obituary for a year ago has some weird (I'm thinking reversed) text and a pi symbol in the background. This is probably relevant. Can anyone flip the image and enhance the background?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

That's the first mathematical code i've ever recognized for something!
It could also be notes, rather than chords - you refer to notes by their octave number on the grand piano. So, an A8 is a VERY high A.
The only problem is, i'm not sure how either chords OR notes will translate into an alphanumeric password, unless we can turn it into a song somehow.
Since I have no clue how to play a piano (It's all about the contrabass for me) I think someone should go do something with that..? I really don't know. That code is evil and I don't know what it means. AGH. </rant>
Great miki... make sure you provide me an email address if you want me to add you as a registered user if it ever has to go private to keep unwanted eyes out. I will try to remind everyone. Thanks

That could very well be a chord progression. I'll look up some tabs to see what I can find. And I'm pretty sure there are 8's and 4's in rock chords, just not classical type things. I just looked up some tabs to see if there was such a thing as an E8 chord and there seems to be.
