Oh ok, where was that posted in the rings thread? Haven't been "playing" just checking it now and then, haven't in a bit.

My bad, just thought I'd chuck it in.

Given that this was originally mistaken for a Rings thing and then the PM nudged it in another direction, I'm guessing that's not the case.

This isn't to do w/ AIXO... I'm playing that at the moment and there's nothing there.

But Aridane is a prominent name in the "Findthelostring" (Olympics) ARG that seems to be starting up soon; that's posted here?

maybe something to do w/ that but I'm not sure; just thought I'd put that in your direction.

Sounds like we'll be waiting 'til April for it to really begin. In the meantime, we should try and figure out that mess of letters in the image. I tried ROTing it to no avail. Possibly an anagram?

I'm not sure about the last H (appears in the middle of the page) might be a K or an X or N

EDIT: Took out the background

Basically, if you see a long string of 20's in there, it's likely it's stegged. Camouflage tacks on the password to the end of the file.

In this case, no password was used (I was trying to use a hammer to kill a fly, apparently)

I have seen the the universe collapse,
the stars die,
the galaxies perish,
the sun implode,
the planets crumble,
the moon inches from my head,
the sky falling,
the flowers dying,
all turned to dust.

Wait for me at the dawn of the cruellest month. That's when it begins.

Just curious - what do you look for in the hex that lets you know it's stegged?

Since you mentioned him coming from the past and the future, I wondered if this guy is related at all to anything in the AIXO 2881 thread: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24592 ?

Also, side note-- Chronos was the Greek god of time. I think. He was Zeus' father anyway.

I looked at the properties of the first pic and it lists the author as Labrys

New file looks to be 9KB bigger.

The picture being resent might mean that something was missing from the original image? I don't know, I'm going to try and figure some things out but I'm also hanging with a friend, so I'll be here and not-here today, heh. I've tried a couple password possibilities on the newest image, and so far nothing has turned up.

[Trailhead?]Chronosdelay and the Minotaur
Messages from the (Future? Past?) from Chronosdelay

Just had an AIM conversation with "chronosdelay".

[quote]
Quote:
chronosdelay (11:26:16 AM): i didn't want to do this just yet, but i think it's the right time.
chronosdelay (11:26:22 AM): i'm not who you think i am.
me (11:26:26 AM): ok...
me (11:26:41 AM): (i'm not sure who i think you are, so that's a bit of a quandry)
me (11:26:45 AM): what's up, though?
chronosdelay (11:27:07 AM): you don't know?
chronosdelay (11:27:10 AM): what's the date?
me (11:27:20 AM): March 1st, 2008
chronosdelay (11:27:28 AM): not again...
chronosdelay (11:27:31 AM): i'm a month off.
me (11:27:51 AM): you were aiming for April Fool's Day?
chronosdelay (11:28:09 AM): well yeah, but not for that reason
me (11:28:42 AM): well, i guess that means i'll be hearing from you in a month?
chronosdelay (11:29:35 AM): i guess so. can i give you something first though? you'll probably get deja vu if i give it to you again, though...
me (11:30:00 AM): given the amount i remember from last week, i doubt i'll have deja vu problems
me (11:30:10 AM): so yeah, go for it
ATTENTION (11:30:36 AM): Transfer complete: thread.jpg.
me (11:30:40 AM): (hoping for lotto numbers)
chronosdelay (11:30:56 AM): it's not much, but maybe it'll be helpful
me (11:31:12 AM): ah, theseus and the minotaur. thanks, i guess!
me (11:31:18 AM): i'm sure it'll make sense in time
chronosdelay (11:31:58 AM): i hope so! i'll explain later...i hope i'm doing the right thing. this isn't how it went down the last time, but it should do.
chronosdelay (11:32:16 AM): it didn't exactly WORK last time either, so maybe it's for the best.
me (11:32:37 AM): one can always hope.
me (11:32:50 AM): anything else to help set me on the right path?
me (11:32:57 AM): (or at least a path?)
chronosdelay (11:33:36 AM): not yet, i don't think. just look into theseus, i suppose. i should really be getting back though...if you don't mind
me (11:34:19 AM): oh, BACK? that's a surprise...i was thinking forward.
chronosdelay (11:34:30 AM): well, back...forward...you know.
me (11:34:45 AM): oh yeah...the ol' Bill & Ted conundrum.
chronosdelay (11:34:56 AM): that's the ticket
chronosdelay (11:35:26 AM): see you soon, i should hope. or else i did something wrong.
chronosdelay (11:35:29 AM): i'm kind of new at this.
me (11:35:38 AM): i'm looking forward to it
me (11:35:53 AM): and definitely keep my eyes peeled for the next month or so
chronosdelay (11:36:19 AM): thanks! that's good to know
chronosdelay (11:36:31 AM): farewell, for now
chronosdelay (11:36:33 AM):
chronosdelay signed off at 11:36:38 AM.

And a follow-up a few minutes later. This started pretty soon after I posted in the "Rings" forum, so it was a subtle nudge that it's a different game. Of course, me being dense, it took me a while to realize that.

Quote:
chronosdelay (11:55:03 AM): i'm back sooner than i thought...same day?
me (11:55:29 AM): yep
chronosdelay (11:55:43 AM): i had a dream and i think you were in it. care to interpret?
me (11:55:44 AM): i've started working on that "thread" you had me follow
me (11:55:49 AM): sure, i'm game
chronosdelay (11:57:48 AM): you were in a labyrinth, and i could see a crossroads. both led to very different destinations, but the walls of both were adorned with a similar pattern. i was at the end of one, but someone i didn't know was at the end of the other.
me (11:58:00 AM): do you remember the pattern?
chronosdelay (11:58:31 AM): the symbol i sent you. theseus and the minotaur.
me (11:58:46 AM): ah, so that was part of the dream
me (11:59:36 AM): hrm...well, do you feel any particular attachment with the name "Ariadne"?
chronosdelay (12:01:11 PM): i know of her, of course! but i can't say i saw her on my way through the labyrinth...
me (12:01:35 PM): just trying to figure out if you were the one who was lost
me (12:03:17 PM): so you were at the end of a crossroads. were you waiting, or moving?
chronosdelay (12:03:33 PM): i am lost, but i think you were too. i think you were trying to find something different than what i want you to help me find.
chronosdelay (12:03:44 PM): waiting! definitely waiting
me (12:04:07 PM): hrm...so my being lost was part of your stumbling block.
me (12:04:18 PM): sounds somewhat familiar
chronosdelay (12:06:31 PM): hmm?
me (12:06:39 PM): my guess would be you're frustrated about a problem you're dealing with...you want to help provide guidance but you're not in the right position to do so?
chronosdelay (12:09:01 PM): that's definitely true...i can't nudge you any further for another little while. but there's something else in the way that i can't quite put my finger on. do you have the feeling like you're going down two separate paths?
me (12:09:29 PM): yeah, i often do.
me (12:10:07 PM): i guess it's going to be time to choose paths again soon, huh.
me (12:10:39 PM): well, whatever the secret, i hope i end up making the right choice.
chronosdelay (12:12:55 PM): i hope so too. i'm just speculating here, but it's just a feeling i had...that neither are necessarily wrong, but both lead separate ways. i think i see a ring at the end of one, and myself at the end of the other. both are different destinations, but on the surface they may have appeared similar to you at the start.
me (12:13:19 PM): sounds like a few packages some friends of mine have been getting, actually
me (12:15:01 PM): a lot of talk about finding people
chronosdelay (12:15:07 PM): that could be the case...but i think i'm supposed to let you know that i have nothing to do with that.
me (12:15:47 PM): given your particular situation, i'd imagine being a part of that would be fairly hard, yeah
me (12:17:20 PM): by the way, would it be too much of an imposition to ask your name?
chronosdelay (12:28:27 PM): i should hope you find that soon...if you look into that symbol.
me (12:28:59 PM): ah, hidden in plain sight, i guess
me (12:29:14 PM): good enough way to pass on information
chronosdelay (12:31:11 PM): well, i wouldn't say it's that clear. try looking under the surface.
me (12:32:18 PM): i'll shuffle around and see if i can't find the "key" to this little puzzle.
chronosdelay (12:34:10 PM): well, i wish you luck. but i think i should be getting, erm, forward again. maybe i'll see you tomorrow...or last week. something along those lines.
me (12:34:35 PM): see you when i see you, then
chronosdelay (12:35:03 PM): indeed. see you...sometime.

File attached is labeled "thread"...picture is of Theseus and the Minotaur, so I expect we're supposed to follow it. I'm assuming the picture's stegged, but I haven't found any passwords that work yet. I also checked the hex code, and if it was stegged, it wasn't done using Camouflage.
