I just called the number, it didn't work, is it just me? or is it down?

OK, might as well post this little snit's Twitter message just for posterity's sake:

Called and tried to listen to the msg.
There are a lot of occurrences of the term, "Last Word"/Natures Last Word"
which makes me think of the Anthropic Principle, which basically means that our human speculations are only as good as our experience. Think of it as a combination of "If a tree falls in the woods.." and "Flat Earth".
It could also be a reference to "Man" if taken from the common usage defining "Man" as "Nature's Last Word" or, by extension "death"
FWIW, I think the last word on the recording was "to".

This string of ciphertext was solved using the email message as a running vigenere key.
Also called a one time pad. I can't believe it, I was going to try that but I had to leave and didn't have time. Now I get home and see that it would have worked. Dang
On a different drum, Eliza left a twitter at 6:23 pm EDT:

Not all ARGs go at a breakneck speed. Not sure how long this is set up for or where it's going yet - half the fun. It's more "real" this way (to me at least).
And with this current speed new folks can jump in and we don't have to freak we're missing out on something every single day. Something new is learned every day it seems.

Yeah i agree. I wonder where all this is going? I mean, we havent really even found out much more than we started with. We started with a company, which was likely a front for something else, suspected foul play in a scientists death, and a newbie, rogue employee. What else have we learned so far? Dont get me wrong I like this story and such, and the puzzles are challenging, but i guess im abit frustrated, sorry for the rant

Vig! Ha! (sorry).
Daughter! Ha! (sorry).
Nate single again! Ha! (not sorry).
Okay, back to the solve. Can anyone make a recording/transcript for the archives? Might as well start a [HOLO] Dr. Gough thread while were at it (post his video link and what we know about him in there as well).
We're slowly moving forward in this mystery!

I'm not complaining or anything... it just strikes me as odd that we are having to jump through hoops in order to obtain little to no useful information.
What are we going to have to solve to get the really secret important stuff?

*EDIT* should i social engineer a phone call to that # and extension? or should i let someone else handle it? Since I break ARGs when I speak
No need to speak. Dialing (641) 715-3900 gives you an automagic prompt asking you to enter the extension number followed by the pound sign (64676#). Doing that puts you into a mailbox where you can listen to an extremely crappy recording of Dr. Gough talking (similar to his original interview, but definitely different). After its over, you can re-listen to it, or it also gives you some admin choices that I didn't mess around with.

Wow, great work!
I just saw this, and thought it was interesting. (YouTube video of the Shinran Shonin statue in NYC, at the end he says that children often leave paper cranes at the base.)
But it's not completed, as if he had to stop suddenly for some reason.

See, I was right! Being used!
