He also made an REM reference: "What's the frequency, Kenneth?"

PM is a music fan =p

I have no idea what to do next. We either wait for Monday, as per the emails, or we keep hassling Port via email to try and pry more information.

Maybe we purse the other direction? We know Kelvin is from the Bay Area and enjoys live theatre, as per his UF profile:

Quote:
Interests: Motion Pictures, Live Theater, Knowledge

So The Curran is definitely the theatre. He's probably got some Masonry roots, given DeMolay's interest. What can we find here?

There's a link to the LA Times and a legit Women in Crime blog within the comments of the True Crime Report.

The only thing I can thing of is that the True Crime Report is a legit blog, but the PM is creating his story based off a real event and has commented on the blog to give us a clue. The comment, which would be the Masonic indicator on the suicide note, makes no sense to the other commentors, but gives us the clue we need.

I don't know. Pretty intense.

Possibly. I'm not sure even if this is part of the main story, like I mentioned earlier - as he mentions his daughter, Jenny, etc.

But, just in case, I'll try to explain this in as few words as possible:
There is supposedly a "secret society" within the Freemasons called the Royal Order of Jesters. The Jesters have been in the news recently, for running prostitution rings, and all other sorts of debauchery. Essentially it's the complete opposite of everything that the Mason's stand for. A while back, a former Jester sent a letter to several of the Lodges in Texas, as well as other Masons detailing what is going on in the Jesters, and admonishing all to try and stop it. You can read the letter here
. Scroll down till you see it. It mentions he's afraid he'll be killed for this information.
The link that Port provided, if you were able to locate the suicide note, at the bottom is a statement that is directly from Masonic history, which of course tied him to Masonry - and has begun all sorts of speculation. But I don't think that link Port sent is related to the Jesters.

I dunno, I'm not convinced that this related yet. I guess we'll see.

Going to point out a few things, don't know if they'll be particularly useful, as I'm new to this and not sure how involved I'll be able to get. Some seem pretty obvious, so trout me if I need it.

First, the name of Port King's blog, The Great and Terrible, could be (is probably?) a reference to Oz, the Great and Terrible. Possible theme: man behind the curtain. King (ruler?) has already said that he sees strings connecting his life and suggested that the Masons pull strings.

Second, the title of this last post: Something's Afoot at the Circle K. Possible an allusion to Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, "strange things are afoot at the Circle K."

Third, what are the thoughts on the truecrime post? Especially the comments on it? Jackn7 appears to have some sort of previous connection with others, but that handle doesn't show up on a Google site search. Soobs, however, does.

Fourth, geography. Kelvinator travels to Chicago often. I'm doing some digging around for Ball Harbor, haven't turned anything up. I'm also going to look for Saint Theresa's (the school King's wife went to) and a Mercy wrestling program. They sound like Catholic high schools to me, maybe a pair of boys/girls only schools?

I just got a reply from him also. I mentioned my interest in Masonry, and this was his reply. I'm not sure if the Masonic angle is a part of this, or just part of the back-story..

I actually would like to see the e-mails that led to my blog.

As for the Masons. We're all on our own paths and mine led away from the Masons a long time ago. I honestly don't remember why. Maybe I got bored with the constant ceremony. Maybe because the average age at my lodge was 900 years old. Or maybe because it didn't change who I was...and I realized that I was the same old piece of shit only now I was wearing a lambskin apron and standing warden, you know? Good luck to you, though. It's a great organization and worthwhile for worthwhile people. Just be prepared that the world takes on a new dimension once you understand the symbology and langauge. You see the strings everywhere.

New reply from Port.

Me:

Quote:
I thought you used to be a Master Mason? That's the password.

Can you explain why a man referncing a legendary Masonic figure directly, and not by accident, linked your blog?

Port:

Quote:
Okay... Listen.. it's a password. Saying it's the password is like saying that you know the combination to every vault in the world because you once worked at a bank.

Sorry about the tinfoil hat comment, but you're email struck me like that guy asking, "What's the frequency, Kenneth." You know? Like I was supposed to have some canned rsponse to you because you write the name.

I don't know why my blog was linked, but I can tell you that there are a lot of guys who at one time or another explored Masonry.. so it's not that big of a coincidence.

I'm thinking that someone is playing a game with me

My Reply:

My apologies for making the assumption. It did, however, seem to get you talking a bit.

I'm going to try another route here. Who did Jenny identify that ultimately had her killed? What was the case regarding?

I'm pressing him from the same angle you are, Wulf. He has to be able to explain the Masonic link.

Also rereading the emails tells me that this Monday will be when we need to start searching the forums for the word "bricker". I'm guessing they'll be a parallel incident to follow on Port's blog. I'm unsure as to whether we'll get any significant info from him until then.

Only time will tell.

I just received a reply from him via email also:

Quote:
Wow. Today must really be the day for you guys to come out of the woodwork.

You are the second person who has e-mailed me about a Kelvin and DeMolay today. But...you caught me at a time when I'd rather not be working so here goes.

To my recollection, I have never heard/known/seen/arrested or otherwise interacted with a Maury Kelvin.

As for DeMolay...I used to be a Master Mason (at least I haven't paid my dues in 20 years and knowing them they probably strip your title if you don't pony up) and the name DeMolay was related to some original Templar who was burned at the stake for heresy, right? Do I win?

I'm really not sure how my stupid little 'dig myself out of my own crap' blog has gotten people asking about this stuff. But I assure you I don't know anything that seems related.

Thanks for the understanding about my daughter and I wish I could be of more help.

I sent back a reply mentioning that he has been directly linked to the strange emails via his blog. I also mentioned it was strange that he used to be a Mason, and someone calling himself deMolay is pointing to his blog. We'll see what happens.

==edit==
Just had a thought. I'm gonna email Port and see if HE has received a package lately...

His email, is obviously a total reference to Freemasonry. I'm actually in the process of trying to be accepted myself. The last part "Sorry Brother....traveler...." I know there's a proper response to that, but I can't recall what it was. I'll see if I can't remember. The other problem with him using that, is that it technically isn't suppose to be discussed/used with someone that isn't a member.

Oh wow. DeMolay, who was linked to freemasonry earlier up, is from a "men's group a lifetime ago". You're bang on, I gather.

So I'm guessing we have to give the set response to the "Sorry Brother... travelller.." piece and that will probably open up some information.

I'll see what I can find as well.

Again, I'm kinda hesitant to find out though. Like I mentioned - technically what he is asking for shouldn't be asked of anyone that doesn't belong. And since I'm trying to get accepted in...
Maybe there's a response that can be given that won't necessarily violate anyone's .... tenets?

Hmmm, there's a ton of Freemason secrets plastered all over the web.

I just emailed him "Tubal-Cain", which apparently is the generic Master-Mason password. Let's see if that loosens his lips.

*edit* bahaha, his response to that was
