Holmes turned and looked at me, "The obvious answer is not always the answer and traversing that path can set you frighteningly far from where you need to be." I looked at the tattered map in my hand and sighed.
Call me crazy! but maybe we should step away from the phone book. :B

I think you're right on, Dominix. We've received chatter of "Chinese word for key'," and a 10-yuan note, so I'd say that we should try to find someone who reads Chinese to interpret the symbols on the drawing.

Have we tried checking the phonebook in Keystone for him? It's not out of the realm of possibility that he's another real person as well...
There are six different listed 'Hatch'es in Golden, CO (where Keystone Light is brewed)... none of them fit, though. No one there has a 'W' name.

... but uh, there is one in Arvada. A William T Hatch, no less. These search results are incorrect in listing that there's two in Colorado--there's only one. He must've moved recently. Looks like he's been all over Colorado.
However, he's never lived in Golden, CO, so I dunno. ;\
From Bernie as of this morning:

Rrrr. This better be for real this time. If it's in code with an SOS hidden in it, I'm gonna scream.

I did read all pages, but if I do say something stupid, trout away!
We have the drawing found on the grave, right?
Remember the "chinese" key?
The drawing look like chinese symbols to me, but I have no idea what they mean.
Maybe they can help us further?
That's just me thinking
Welcome, and no worries about the repeating. I've already forwarded that pic to my brother (mentioned a few posts back ) to have him see if he can interpret them. Still waiting to hear back.

Anyone have any luck in locating W.T. Hatch? I have tried a bunch of different emails with no luck.
I haven't had much of a chance to do anything with this yet - I did check Twitter for a few things, but no dice. Nothing under WTHatch, OracleWatcher, and variations thereof.
I know we're missing something, but I haven't had a chance to do any digging yet. Have we tried checking the phonebook in Keystone for him? It's not out of the realm of possibility that he's another real person as well...

Got this earlier this afternoon:

klokworkalex: I really don't know what drives that crazy fuck. As for Starr...I mean honestly...what the hell? No clue who to trust now. I might as well.
klokworkalex: I got dropped off in a place called Petaluma and am in the library. How do I get in touch with Starr? Is my yahoo e-mail safe?
Texted Bernie about trying to find a way to meet with him that isn't email--haven't heard back yet!
edit;; ok, Bernie finally responded; forwarded Port the number he was texting from. So here's to hoping that this Bernie is for real this time. /cross fingers

I tried to get the image to my brother to see if he can interpret it - but his phone couldn't view it, and as I just landed - haven't had a chance to send it via email yet.
Thanks for heading out there Obs - it's a huge help!

klokworkalex: In case you were wondering, I am alive and I'm really frickin' pissed off. Just not sure who I'm pissed at yet.
clas1ca: And here I was wondering if I'd ever hear from you again! Jesus, so I've heard what happened, sorta... where the hell are you? Are you ok??
klokworkalex: I'm OK. That's three times now with Rage killing around me, right? Anyway, I'm near SF hitching along with a trucker. I'll be In touch soon.
clas1ca: It's weird, though; Rage is the last person I would've expected to throw such a whiny tantrum. & by 'whiny', I mean 'bloody'. Be safe, Port.
Also: someone claiming to be Bernie has contacted me, is looking for you. I think he's for real this time, though. What should I do?
edit;; Hazeltine Report was also updated with this image.
So if email is no good, how else are we going to communicate with these guys? /:

Hi All, i'm still in the process of getting everything together. Essentially I parked a few blocks from the cemetery in order to scope out the surroundings and look for a black Yukon. None in sight. I made my way past a beat-up blue motorcycle and shopping cart full of junk and the two grungy teenage gutterpunks sitting near the entrance (to whom i assume the aforementioned crap belonged). I would've taken a photo of them, but then I'd have to disinfect my camera, and that just seemed like too much work.
I'd run almost immediately into the "11" marker, and did a quick circuit in the vicinity of the couple (who I immediately dubbed Jimmy and Jackie Corpsewater). Unfortunately (as is the case with sprawling ancient cemeteries) there wasn't much of a pattern to the numbering, 11, 9, 14, 14, 8...
long story short I headed deeper into the shadowy oak infested belly of The Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery, keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary, praying I would somehow manage to spot a bright yellow marker reading "22" in this sea of oak trees and crumbling marble...
and viola! there it was! it was at that point that my mind kicked into high hear and I drew out the composite of images we'd already receivied -- the bench, the tree, the wall, and turned slightly to my left.
There it all was. right next to the grave of Wainright Finlay 1866-1878. I knocked away the piece of loose mortar covering our suprise and right behind it was a souble-bagged printout of the esoteric variety.
you've already gotten my horrible color photo, so here's the horrible black and white scan..
That's pretty much it. I hung around a while and looked for anything else out of place, then made my merry way back past Mr. and Mrs. Corpsewater and headed off to work.
