They just announced on OOG that Season 2 has officially started. Get ready for something to happen, guys...

I haven't been in touch with anyone as of late (didn't know what to say and was worried about being redundant in that anything I did ask would have been something you already asked), but I'll ask about the status if it would help.
I have no votes for anyone toward who would be best to impersonate, but here are some of my half-baked brain thoughts in case they might be of use. I agree that going for Pablo is risky, especially considering his involvement in Phase 3 and the timing of the meeting with Phase 3 (unless you've already linked them?). Also, while Matthew Johnson is a source of less classified Nox Ordo info, I wonder anything Genus found on his visit to the era of Matthew's ancestors could be comparable to what Matthew could tell us.

I've been chatting with the characters and here's what's up:
Genus is back from his time travel trip. Hooray! Apparently he's found some good stuff. He's given a report to Daniel, I haven't gotten word on what he's found though.
Dan Miller and his team have established a base camp outside of the Greenland Facility (deja vu, didn't he do that last time?), but can't go in until LAINSY's lockdown is removed. I'm trying to get a status report from him, anyone else have new information on this?
I changed my mind and decided to target Pablo Jose for Rifter to impersonate. Mainly because I like talking to Matthew Johnson, the more you talk to Matthew the more stuff he's likely to drop in conversation (see below). Pablo is much more suspicious, plus he's actually involved in the plan so Rifter might actually learn what's going on.
Thing is, Pablo is hard to bait. I'm trying to bait him with the story of meeting someone who knows what exactly went on in FAILTECH last year (it seems the Nox Ordo is EXTREMELY interested in this) but I don't want to drop Dan Miller's or Genus's name. Instead, I want him to think he's going to meet Dan or Genus, but meet with Rifter instead. I don't know if this is going to work. I guess I'll keep trying?
Then there's the worry that when Rifter is trying to trap Pablo, Nox Ordo will ambush him instead. Rifter claims he can incapacitate Pablo as long as Pablo doesn't have any fancy technology. That's pretty risky, if you ask me. Trapping Matthew Johnson would have been way easier, but the payoff is low. Trapping Pablo is way way riskier, but if we can succeed that would pay off a LOT in the end.
Matthew Johnson has dropped a little bit more information. I asked him whether Nox Ordo has learned why exactly they need to go to the stars and what they plan on doing when they get there, and he said:
Matthew Johnson wrote:
I do not know. But, our archives both from our family and the Valesco family have a match with a star map. One of which, we haven't found any match with any of the contellations or stars in our sky.
So it looks like Nox Ordo plans to steal a ship or two and try to find this location that matches the star map, and figure out where to go from there, I guess.

Welcome, cookingboy3! \(^_^)_
Here's a quick summary regarding where we are at right now:
We were being trained by Failtech's Inno Ellis to investigate suspicious activity within or related to Failtech. One of the training assignments led to discovering that an organization called Nox ordo had infiltrated the company. Eventually, Inno Ellis was inadvertently switched with a Rifter (someone who jumps/travels through rifts). We were left to coordinate with Rifter and other head Failtech people to learn what Nox Ordo had planned. During this time, we also learned about the Pioneer, which is a Failtech ship that was stranded in space and in the wrong time (although the crew is unaware of that they had time traveled). Now, Nox Ordo has made their move, and the Pioneer is in trouble (atm, there is nothing linking the two events).
The best place for a recap is the wiki's Timeline. We're currently at the interlude. If you have any questions, feel free to send a PM, too!
As of now, I believe there are two major things going on:
= We are trying to prevent members of Nox Ordo from stealing one of Failtech's space ships.
= We are also figuring out if we can save another Failtech ship that is in trouble somewhere in space.
I hope this helps and that I wasn't too confusing!
That's a very good point. In that case, I'll support Matthew as impersonation candidate.
Hmm...when it comes to re-writing physics and saving the Pioneer, I remember one thing Skyfall wrote regarding me being concerned about the Pioneer time-travelling in the first place (I didn't take the physics part seriously at the time because I wasn't aware of a physics re-writer ability out there.)
Skyfall wrote:
To be honest, I am not very sure but if it is happening right now without our intervention it means down the road it is probably meant to happen and will happen. Unless physics has chanhed this time around and new rules has been set.
I take it that there might be a chance that if renovo were used to save the Pioneer (if it could be used to save the Pioneer), that it would further alter the future in addition to Nox Ordo's current fiasco due to physics changing. Unless that is what Oriru Serku was referring to in terms of "whatever happening in this event rippling across to the future"?
AUG 6 EDIT: While updating the wiki, I noticed that "Known for impersonating things/people" was part of the original Rifter character description. Might anyone be able to clarify what "things" refer to (non-humans, inanimate objects ((random interjection: that would be really cool!)), etc.)?

Maybe Matthew would be a good choice, considering he's not supposed to know much about what's going on anyway so it wouldn't be suspicious if he didn't know anything. Given just the way they greet each other and how intricate that is, I doubt Rifter will be able to get past much else without people getting suspicious.
The renovo ability I think might have been tossed out there as a "deus ex machina" solution to help the Pioneer. At least, that's just an idea I had there. Not sure exactly HOW re-writing physics could possibly save the Pioneer, given the state it's in now. But what do you think about that?

I'm not confident about any opinions I have regarding people or putting things together, but I'll toss my wilted brain salad out there even if only to serve as a springboard for doing otherwise (written light-heartedly and seriously; no sarcasm/mean-nes/etc. intended ^_^).
Considering the trade-off, perhaps Billy would be a good middle? I also can't help but wonder if they'll have an eye on Matthew with him being "the weakest link" according to Billy from the email exchange, which I'll attach in case anyone wanted to read them now that Portal is down.
I'm a little lost about the renovo ability. Why does Rifter already have physics re-written on him?

All right, more news. Matthew Johnson and Pablo Jose (aka "Pub") have reported that James Barron came back 2 days ago -- not at FAILTECH, but back from wherever he disappeared to. So I guess James Barron is out as far as impersonating goes.
That leaves us with the following people as options for Rifter to impersonate:
Joseph Dillinger ("Junior")
Billy Chan ("Bills")
Matthew Johnson ("Maths")
Pablo Jose ("Pub")
Which is a good choice? Matthew Johnson is kind of low on the totem pole, I have a feeling that Pablo and Joseph are more involved in the plan, so it's kind of a trade-off (how far can Rifter go undercover, how effective can Rifter be to interfere/help us thwart Nox Ordo).
Rifter also told me about this "renovo" skill that he has too, along with his impersonation skill:
Rifter wrote:
It's a skill of a rifter to have the ability to re-write physics at a localized area. There is a strict rule between the Rifters to NOT use it unless we really need to. Physics has been re-written on me so that if I use this ability it would trigger a local effect on me, which I wouldn't know what. Only the rewritter knows what effect he had put on me, or until I use renovo. Of course, I could take off this effect and write normal physics on me but that will give away that I have used renovo. Either way, I am feeling quite desperate to leave and be within close proximity with the rift once it breaches so that I could return and get Inno back here.
Also, sounds like things went from bad to worse on the Pioneer. Well shoot, I guess if Genus was around maybe we could have done something to help. Not much fun watching people die!

I third your idea as well and also prefer that we take an active role in what's going on. I'm leaning towards detaining one of the current guys because I'm not sure about using James Barron as an impersonation subject. To my memory (although I am good with the trout), we don't have much information regarding the purpose of his disappearance and if/how it is related to what's currently happening.

I have an idea I'd like to run by you all -- why not send Rifter in there impersonating a Nox Ordo person? Should we attempt to interfere or not? Anyone else have any ideas?
I think any idea is a good one at this point. I'm still at a loss for what our next move should be, and I agree that doing something is better than just sitting around doing nothing.

Okay Dan Miller is reporting that someone has infilitrated the Space Facility. That is also confirmed by LAINSY Scarlet's logs:
Code:
PROTOCOL 7 -- ACTIVE
LAINSY: Report received of personnel loss at Space Command
Block A. Security systems offline at said Block. Unable to
confirm loss or security breach.
Other reports:
Matthew Johnson is reporting that he's received word that a "great miracle will happen soon."
Skyfall has been pulled from the operation by the Oriru Serku. They said that "whatever happens in this event will ripple across to the future."
Netspec has gotten some intel that Nox Ordo is gathering all its members soon but doesn't know where or when.
Dan Miller suspects some "funny business" going down in the Intelligence Department.
Rifter says that Dan Miller told him to sit tight, that they can't send anyone to the space port right now because of the infilitration (and thus Rifter won't reach the rift). However, Rifter has reminded me about his skill of impersonating anyone.
It sounds like Nox Ordo is trying to break into the Space Facility and steal the remaining space ship. This would be a bad idea. That ship has a weapons system on it:
Dan Miller wrote:
The new ship is a revised version of the one Genus is piloting, and is equiped with a similar weapons system to the EGS. We just had to equip it since we find our lack of offence a major pitfall in our defence against anyone not from Earth. If it wasn't for Winston's people, SKyfall and the Oriru Serku, we could have lost Earth.
I have an idea I'd like to run by you all -- why not send Rifter in there impersonating a Nox Ordo person? We could either secretly detain one of the Nox Ordo suspects we know or have him try to go in as James Barron. What do you think? It's better than just watching everything go down, at least to me. So, what does this mean in terms of where we're all at?

Hey guys, something's up. I was talking back and forth with Rifter (aka Kaido Yonwin) about this new rift that's opening up when today he sent the message:
Rifter wrote:
Change in plans... Looks like someone has made their move...
I think someone might have messed with LAINSY. Look, pretty Nox Ordo-like (yellow/red) colors!
Code:
====================================================================================================
============================ GLOBAL SYSTEM ALERT INITATED -- PROTOCOL 7 ============================
====================================================================================================
Also the Ruby, Arnold, Scarlet, and Martin are all reporting "--------". Intranet is pointing now to lainsy.net. Same with the Agent Portal. None of the other sites seem to have updated yet.
I was batting back & forth with Matthew Johnson about Nox Ordo's intentions and it seemed like Nox Ordo was very interested in LAINSY. A couple of his comments:
Matthew Johnson wrote:
Once the current goal is achieved successfully I believe Nox Ordo will be moving to other things. Great interest has been put on FAILTECH and until we figure out the reality of last year's events we won't really know for sure if Nox Ordo will stop or push through FAILTECH.
Matthew Johnson wrote:
While we are quite aware of what seems to have happened, FAILTECH was able to cover up the whole things with something else. Neither did anything come up with our investigation and infiltration with LAINSY. I suppose FAILTECH employs something else to cover up things, that maybe neither you are aware of. You see, LAINSY is something far from anything we have on our archives or reach of our own technology. We can manage to get past simple stuff, but going deeper requires so much more.
I guess that was their plan all along, to hijack LAINSY? Sheesh. I supposed WE could have told them what happened last year and saved them the trouble.
