weeding out what could be irrelevant or a shout to other science fiction...

the 'interstellar stock exchange' could be a star wars reference. in that realm of fiction it's abbreviated 'ise'. one abbreviation of 'isx' is the iraqi stock exchange.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Interstellar_Stock_Exchange

Quote:
The Interstellar Stock Exchange, or ISE was the primary stock exchange in the galaxy.
It was suspended on the news of the declaration of martial law in the Galactic Alliance.

LOL yeah, they've fixed like 2 or 3 things since they went live.
Also I really think there's something going on with the supposed Atomic Numbers they're using. It looks more like they want to assign a certain key with a particular meaning to each of them. I mean, Water = Ho? Doesn't make much sense.

I figured Water= Ho as Water = H20. Just missing one of them hydrogen thingies... Actually, straight HO is hydrogen peroxide (empirical). And there's actually an element with the abbreviation Ho:
Name: Holmium
Symbol: Ho
Atomic Number: 67

Yeah man, we already solved the http://projectprometheus.com's first two directories (assuming there's more, I hope so).

First url: http://www.projectprometheus.com/245409/

Second url: http://www.projectprometheus.com/eridu/

Apologies in advance if this has been mentioned already, but I cant find the page in this thread that relates to Eridu

However, Its in the UK trailer

This could be old news, but if you watch the UK trailer, ERIDU is the name of a place shown as an ancient civilization at around the 29 second mark

And at 30 seconds...

..it lists Eilean a' Cheo (Isle of Skye) and Mesopotamia on the next 2 artifacts.

I tried these in Project prometheus but no luck.

It may be useful if someone could do an up to date list of how things were discovered since this thread is now a bit weildly and I have no idea how Eridu or the other image were discovered.

Anyone?

Wow, nevermind, they already fixed it.

Ha - they don't need to pay editors - just post the page and let the ARGers do the proofreading. They must be paying attention and making the fixes fast.

I know, right? Also wondering about the Zinc icon. It's ZN, whereas for all the other items that have a 2-letter abbreviation, the 2nd letter is lowercase (i.e. it should be Zn, not ZN) An error or a clue?

I would try to keep what blackfeathers said before in mind:

This is not the periodic table as we know it.
Sure it looks like it, and those 1or2 letters abbreviations sure recall it, but..

Gas, Oil..

Let's just think of this as a resource key for now

I am pretty sure that the only exposition on the acid blood is in the first film where it is referred to as 'molecular acid', which is kind of like saying 'wooden wood'. Wink

From the wiki on the xenomorph:

In the Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem documentary: "Science of the Alien", it is theorized that the Aliens' acid blood could be some type of "hydrosulphuric acid" composition due to its corrosiveness and the conspicuously toxic effects on living human tissue.

Awesome! thanks for that!

i keep staring at that damn background image - and i was looking at the jumping/moving orb in the bottom left - the dark orbs...they form a clump that looks an AWFUL lot like the Orion belt/constellation.

I'm gonna grab images and see if that goes anywhere.

Hiya, been lurking and enjoying this ARG/non-ARG. Nice work so far, everyone!

I'm intrigued by the periodic table infographic as well.

Gas is listed as 001 (closest would be 1, aka Hydrogen, which makes some sense) but has the abbreviation of Za.

Graphite - 147 - Pc (form of carbon, redundant to have on a periodic table)

Orichalcum - 247 - Oc . Wikipedia snip: Orichalcum is a metal mentioned in several ancient writings, most notably the story of Atlantis as recounted in the Critias dialogue, recorded by Plato.

And so on. Just a few stray thoughts.
