I am pretty sure that the only exposition on the acid blood is in the first film where it is referred to as 'molecular acid', which is kind of like saying 'wooden wood'. Wink

Carmot is related to the Philosopher's Stone mythos:

Quote:
The various names, and attributes assigned to the philosopher's stone has led to long-standing speculation on its composition and source. Exoteric candidates have been found in metals, plants, rocks, chemical compounds, and bodily products such as hair, urine, and eggs. Justus von Liebig states that 'it was indispensable that every substance accessible... should be observed and examined'.[27] Alchemists once thought a key component in the creation of the stone was a mythical element named carmot.[28][29]

one of the wiki pages i poured over last night http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prometheus#Comparative_myths mentions this:

Quote:
In Norse mythology, the god Loki was bound to a rock. Above him is a large serpent which drips toxic venom upon him. His wife collects the poison in a bowl, but must empty it every time it gets full. As she is in the process of doing this, the snake proceeds to cover Loki in poison. Just as Prometheus gets his liver eaten only to have it grow back again, Loki is temporarily saved from venom only to have it drip on him once more.

Thanks for that. So that poison is Eitr from Jörmungandr, which Weyland Industries is somehow collecting. Maybe just a plot point?

a few more points:

eitr appears to be the rarest resource, followed by tridium, which could make it the most valuable. focus appears to be here in financial value & investment.

also, come to think of it, the resources did not say they were elements nor a periodic table.

The color coordination for the "current resource reserves" graph is wrong. They've got the fuels colored as minerals and vice versa. Purposeful or sloppy?

Wow, nevermind, they already fixed it.

Background
The hastening of orbs

Ive noticed that the orbs moving from left to right (as yourselves have) are moving at faster pace than previously shown.

What I have also noticed, when the small fast orb finishes its cycle by passing through the right side, interference occurs shortly after. Notice the medium sized orb at the bottom left jumps up slightly and increases in size.

FTL? Is this meant to be a interstellar map of sorts and were moving toward our destination? almost like a forward view from a cockpit?

(still blue wavelength interference visible also but couldnt pull up anything photoshop credible to put up here)

I dont know. Im just guessing. Bed time. Peace

I was wondering that as well. Could be Tritium?

tritium is a radio active form of hydrogen which would be redundant in a periodic table.

it's also something referenced in star trek. http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Tridium

So they have -- I'm no scientific genius, but the Periodic Table only goes to 118? right?

Then we list and investigate these ones. I know what i'm doing tonight.... Bye sleep, I knew thee well"

(I am cautious, because this might not lead to anything XD )

speaking of prometheus myth, he was to forever be bound to the caucus rock mountain. when he was freed by hercules, zeus made him wear a ring made from the iron of his chains and a rock from the mountain in order to fulfill a requirement of him being forever bound. this was considered the first ring ever worn with a rock, leading to forever rings, infinity rings(david 8 theme) and wedding bands.

back to elements...

adamantine
carmot
etir
orichalcum
rare earths
tantalum
tridium ?

edited to add:

I think it was mentioned in one of the Alien films that using androids in any kind of combat scenario is outlawed.

Tantalum (an actual element), comes from Tantalus:

"Tantalus (Greek Τάνταλος, Tántalos) was a Greek mythological figure, most famous for his eternal punishment in Tartarus: to stand in a pool of water beneath a fruit tree with low branches, with the fruit always eluding his grasp, and the water always receding before he could take a drink."

Well, they've certainly got a theme going.
