As for Weyland vs Wayland -- take anything WAYLAND with a grain of salt.
If the only in-game connection is a very tiny, relatively blurry instance of "wayland", for which someone may have easily, and very quickly, set up red herrings to capture as much activity on "wayland" variants as possible; Whether as an intentional gamejack or not.
I'd think that if it's a typo and it was caught officially, they would
forward misspellings to the proper locations. I'd expect waylandindustries.com for example to transfer visitors to weylandindustries.com
As for @WaylandCorp on twitter, possibly the same result - presumably the official response would be to register that account, and either leave it empty to stop spoofers, or direct users to the proper Twitter account (be there one, of course).
So yeah, IMO, until there's blatant in-game connection to anything "Wayland", I'd take it with a grain of salt. Gamejacking can still be done by
extremely skilled people and have all the appearance of official connection, yet still play havoc with followers.
That said, it could still be official.

There's just no way to be sure yet as the only connection could easily be a typo that potentially could have been taken advantage of.
