The process has reached its logical conclusion

Holy mother of wowness. Annnd anyone else?! guy? Meak? Cross your fingers and check your emails everyone :)

Following careful deliberation we are pleased to announce that you have been chosen as one of four individuals that, in the eyes of Sable & Shuck, were most worthy of the prize, even though you were unable to solve the final puzzle.

To find the correct answer, you simply had to number the icons by counting how many times they appeared in the press advertising. Their order was determined by how closely they were situated to Stella Artois in each case. Stella Artois was of course symbolised of the grid by a star.

Questions for the PM's

Hey guys,

Now that this is over, I hope we hear from the PM's soon, Until then, I'm gonna see if I can arrange an interview/ IRC chat with them. So, use this thread to pose your questions!

I'll start you off:

Who won?
So what was the answer to the grid puzzle, and how were we supposed to work it out?
What took so long?
Was there any meaning to the memories on the back of the photo?
Was there anything to see on the TV in the hiding room?
Have you been following the forum here, or even posting sometimes?

The story. (now it is 'over' we can tell)

I tried to make sense of what the story is. But mixing clues out of order made me lose the line.

If there is anyone who still cares about this, please tell what you think is the story...... I'm sure some are still out there.

My idea (very short version)

Jon Harker, self proclamed him stopper, went into hiding. His siter (lets say she is) wants to find him. Why? She and we know it is by choise. He will turn up when he's ready... but that would kill the story so... we go look for him.

The whole setup suggests she is being used by him to find him(Jon). (amount of reward money, site made possible by a sisterfirm of Sable & Shuck etc.)

Also, maybe even more so, it seems the whole hunt is orchestrated to make 'us' sell our soul.... the money made by finding Jon may even be part of the contract you have signed when you went looking for Jon. When you have found him you can not escape the thought that you sold him (out) to the wrong crowd. ... After that you are sent on a unrelated quest that has no merit but to quench your lust for money (or puzzles, same result though).... You are in the bag. Caught. Missing vital parts of your soul.

My conclusion is the whole thing, from the get go, was a trap to capture us ..... and it did..... Just think. What better way to make people sighn a contract to sell their soul then this?
This would also suggest that..... ****drumroll***** .....Jon actualy could be (or has become?) him he was hunting. (this I also find substantiated by the phone-video that shows Jon's head in black shirt.. and a hoof in black pants. To me it seemed to belong to one person)

How paranoid am I or does this make sense. I'm just glad I didn't collect on that contract, iow win.

**TIME IS UP** WE LOSE!

Just thought we may as well have a countdown.

I know I've put countless hours in over the last week trying to finally solve it but unsurprisingly to no avail.

So..

TIME IS UP, TODAY IS JUNE 27TH

Guess our souls just weren't up to scratch. (Actually you've probably got about 9 hours until someone gets into the office, but that sort of ruins the dramatic effect)

The worth of a poll is what it will bring

My poll thread was locked.

My boycott of Stella Artois was not a threat at all, but a statement of fact. 77% of those who answered the poll said that they would also boycott Stella until such time as the Sable and Shuck game was resolved in some way. And yet the thread gets locked.

The people who didn't want the thread to continue would have done better to just stop posting in it.

The thread was doing nicely as both a statement of dissatisfaction and a countdown to the end of the 6-week period by the end of which the results should be announced.

If that thread broke the rules or TOS of this forum, I would have appreciated it if someone had mentioned it to me If it didn't, please explain why it is now locked.

John's contract password SPOILER

Hi folks, news on Jon's contract password.

There isn't one. There are two things that lead me to this conclusion.

1. The anagram "NO PASSWORD" in the flash books.
2. I've been naughty and decompiled the flash from the S&S website.

The script for the receipt password basically says "if the password is right, go to the next bit, if it's wrong, say so".

The script for the contract password basically says "whatever they enter here, it's login failed".

I think we should concentrate our energies elsewhere.

Are the adverts being run in the press a final clue??

Dunno if I'm grasping at straws but has anyone seen the ads being run by Lowe in the national press the last few weeks. they're pictures of scenes with 20 or so film references in them. They're also being promoted as the new promtoion for stella by Ed morris or whatever his name is that is behind Helpmefindjon.. Any ideas.. is this a final clue to try and identify a winner..

Anyway, I can't remember the address but I found them on the guardian newspaper website.

If not then I guess its done and dusted but how will they nominate a winner when nobodys actually solved the endgame??

My vote is that they expected us to find clues outside the web - guess you can't actually purchase Stella or drink it online so it makes sense...

To go back to the pictures I noticed several possible 'in game' references like Jean de florette(previous stella advert -and we were given a link to 'the pilot' in the hornchurch); The blair witch project ( alluded to in the horoscopes);Ravens;Donnie darko(one of the members on this forum logs in as donnied;Quadrophenia(jon watched it on brighton beach(I think));Apocalypse now (starring Marlon Brando (Marlowe OnBrand??) I know that one's a bit obscure but I'm just throwing out some ideas.

Anyway, maybe you're all as bored of this as I've been it just got me thinking that's all.. Ciao

Stella boycott pledges here

The winning entry will be posted on www.helpmefindjon.com within 6 weeks of the end of the game, according to the terms and conditions.

Just thought I'd make a note of how long we have to wait for that. So far it's been 2 1/2 weeks since the game ended. 3 1/2 weeks to go before the six weeks is up. Does anyone else get the feeling that Stella might not produce anything useful? My somewhat cynical view is that they'll either:

a. Change the "Help Me Find Jon" site to say "This game is over. Drink Stella."

b. Put a terse announcement there saying, "The winner was [name here]. Well done."

c. Do nothing at all in the hope that it will just go away.

I really hope I'm wrong, and that a full solution will appear with explanations of all clues and red herrings. I'm not holding out much hope.

I will not drink a single drop of Stella until they address this . I really mean that. It's very easy to buy another lager instead, and no other lager manufacturer has pissed me off like Stella has.

Will anyone else join the Stella boycott? Please answer the poll question above to give your support.
